[Machine] Abu Ubaydah was named Abu al-Lahm (Father of Meat) because he refused to eat meat.  

الحاكم:٦٦١١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ مَعْمَرُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ «آبِي اللَّحْمِ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَفَّانَ وَكَانَ شَرِيفًا شَاعِرًا وَشَهِدَ فَتْحَ حُنَيْنٍ وَمَعَهُ عُمَيْرٌ مَوْلَاهُ» قَالَ

أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ «وَإِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ آبِيَ اللَّحْمِ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ اللَّحْمَ»
