الحاكم:٦٤٢٣وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ قَالَ

«وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ يُكَنَّى أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ لَهُ دَارٌ بِالْبَصْرَةِ وَقَدْ قِيلَ كُنْيَتُهُ أَبُو شَدَّادٍ»
