[Machine] We used to walk with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ along some walls of the city. He said, "O Abu Huraira!" I said, "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Indeed, those who have more are the ones with less, except for those who say with their wealth, 'Such and such.' " And he gestured with his hand to his right and left, and few are they.  

كُنَّا نَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ حِيطَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ «يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ» فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الْمُكْثِرِينَ هُمُ الْأَقَلُّونَ إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ بِمَالِهِ هَكَذَا وَكَذَا» وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never failed to utter these supplications in the evening and in the morning: O Allah, I ask Thee for security in this world and in the Hereafter: O Allah! I ask Thee for forgiveness and security in my religion and my worldly affairs, in my family and my property; O Allah! conceal my fault or faults (according to Uthman's version), and keep me safe from the things which I fear; O Allah! guard me in front of me and behind me, on my right hand and on my left, and from above me: and I seek in Thy greatness from receiving unexpected harm from below me." AbuDawud said: Waki' said: That is to say, swallowing by the earth. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5074)   

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَعْ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ وَحِينَ يُمْسِي «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي» يَعْنِي الْخَسْفَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One of the happinesses of the son of Adam is to seek Allah's guidance (Istikhara), and one of the miseries of the son of Adam is to abandon seeking Allah's guidance (Istikhara)."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ اسْتِخَارَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَمِنْ شَقَاوَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ تَرْكُهُ اسْتِخَارَةَ اللَّهِ»  

If anyone says "I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion and with Muhammad ﷺ as Apostle" Paradise will be his due. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1529)   

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ الْجَنْبِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ  

AbuSallam told that he was in the mosque of Hims. A man passed him and the people said about him that he served the Prophet ﷺ. He (AbuSallam) went to him and said: Tell me any tradition which you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and there were no man between him and you. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If anyone says in the morning and in the evening: "I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, with Muhammad as Prophet," Allah will certainly please him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5072)   

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا فِي مَسْجِدِ حِمْصٍ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَا خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَنَهَضْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ قُلْتُ حَدِّثْنِي حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَتَدَاوَلْهُ الرِّجَالُ بَيْنَكُمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُمْسِي وَحِينَ يُصْبِحُ رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا إِلَّا كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُرْضِيَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard saying, "Whoever says 'SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi' one hundred times in the morning and one hundred times in the evening, all his sins will be forgiven, even if they are as much as the foam of the sea."  

سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِذَا أَمْسَى مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ غُفِرَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ  

“Allahumma inni a’udhu bika an adilla aw azilla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from going astray or stumbling, from wronging others or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3884)   

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ قَالَ «بِسْمِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ»  

“Bismillah, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, at-tuklanu ‘ala Allah (In the Name of Allah, there is no power and strength except with Allah, and trust is placed in Allah).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3885)   

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ يَقُولُ «بِسْمِ اللَّهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ التُّكْلَانُ عَلَى اللَّهِ»  

“Pray to Allah to heal me.” He said: “If you wish to store your reward for the Hereafter, that is better, or if you wish, I will supplicate for you.” He said: “Supplicate.” So he told him to perform ablution and do it well, and to pray two Rak’ah, and to say this supplication: “Allahumma inni as’aluka wa atawajjahu ilaika bimuhammadin nabiyyir-rahmah. Ya Muhammadu inni qad tawajjahtu bika ila rabbi fi hajati hadhihi lituqda. Allahumma fashaffi’hu fiya (O Allah, I ask of You and I turn my face towards You by virtue of the intercession of Muhammad the Prophet of mercy. O Muhammad, I have turned to my Lord by virtue of your intercession concerning this need of mine so that it may be met. O Allah, accept his intercession concerning me)”. أَنَّ رَجُلًا ضَرِيرًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ ادْعُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى أَنْ يُعَافِيَنِي قَالَ «إِنْ شِئْتَ أَخَّرْتُ ذَلِكَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ دَعَوْتُ» قَالَ فَادْعُهُ قَالَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ فَيُحْسِنَ الْوُضُوءَ وَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَيَدْعُو بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فِي حَاجَتِي هَذِهِ فَتَقْضِيهَا لِي اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ وَشَفِّعْنِي فِيهِ  

“The Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate, saying: “My Lord, aid me and do not aid against me, and grant me victory and do not grant victory over me, plot for me and do not plot against me, guide me and facilitate guidance for me, grant me victory over those who transgress against me. My Lord, make me ever-grateful to You, ever-remembering of You, ever-fearful of You, ever-obedient to You, ever-humble to You, oft-turning and returning to You. My Lord, accept my repentance, wash my sin, answer my call, make firm my proof, make firm my tongue, guide my heart, and remove the treachery of my chest (Rabbi aʿinnī wa lā tuʿin ʿalayya, wanṣurnī wa lā tanṣur ʿalayya, wamkur lī wa lā tamkur ʿalayya, wahdinī wa yassiril-huda lī, wanṣurnī ʿalā man baghā ʿalayya. Rabbijʿalnī laka shakkāran, laka dhakkāran, laka rahhāban, laka miṭwāʿan, laka mukhbitan, ilaika awwāhan munība. Rabbi taqabbal tawbatī, waghsil ḥawbatī, wa ajib daʿwatī, wa thabbit ḥujjatī, wa saddid lisānī, wahdi qalbī, waslul sakhīmata ṣadrī).” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3551)  

كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «رَبِّ أَعِنِّي وَلَا تُعِنْ عَلَيَّ وَانْصُرْنِي وَلَا تَنْصُرْ عَلَيَّ وَامْكُرْ لِي وَلَا تَمْكُرْ عَلَيَّ وَاهْدِنِي وَيَسِّرِ الْهُدَى لِي وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي لَكَ شَكَّارًا لَكَ ذَكَّارًا لَكَ رَهَّابًا لَكَ مِطْوَاعًا لَكَ مُخْبِتًا إِلَيْكَ أَوَّاهًا مُنِيبًا تَقَبَّلْ تَوْبَتِي وَأَجِبْ دَعْوَتِي وَاهْدِ قَلْبِي وَثَبِّتْ حُجَّتِي وَسَدِّدْ لِسَانِي وَاسْلُلْ سَخِيمَةَ قَلْبِي»  

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , this is what Muhammad asked his Lord: "O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of success, the best of actions, the best of rewards, the best of lives, the best of deaths, and to make me steadfast. And make my scales heavy, and fulfill my faith, and elevate my ranks, and accept my prayers, and forgive my sins. And I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise, O Allah, I ask You for the beginnings of goodness, the endings of goodness, and the entirety of goodness, the outward and the inward, and the highest levels of Paradise. Amen, O Allah, I ask You for the best of what I am given, and the best of what I do, and the best of what I work for, and the best of what is invisible to others, and the best of what is visible, and the highest levels of Paradise. Amen, O Allah, I ask You to elevate my remembrance, and to take away my sins, and to rectify my affairs, and to purify my heart, and to protect my modesty, and to enlighten my heart, and to forgive my sins, and I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. Amen, O Allah, I ask You to bless me in my self, and in my hearing, and in my sight, and in my soul, and in my creation, and in my disposition, and in my family, and in my life, and in my death, and in my actions. So accept my good deeds, and I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. Amen."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ هَذَا مَا سَأَلَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَبَّهُ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَسْأَلَةِ وَخَيْرَ الدُّعَاءِ وَخَيْرَ النَّجَاحِ وَخَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ وَخَيْرَ الثَّوَابِ وَخَيْرَ الْحَيَاةِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَمَاتِ وَثَبَّتَنِي وَثَقِّلْ مَوَازِينِي وَحَقِّقْ إِيمَانِي وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَاتِي وَتَقَبَّلْ صَلَاتِي وَاغْفِرْ خَطِيئَتِي وَأَسْأَلُكَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فَوَاتِحَ الْخَيْرِ وَخَوَاتِمَهُ وَجَوَامِعَهُ وَأَوَّلَهُ وَظَاهِرَهُ وَبَاطِنَهُ وَالدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ آمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا آتِي وَخَيْرَ مَا أَفْعَلُ وَخَيْرَ مَا أَعْمَلُ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَطَنَ وَخَيْرَ مَا ظَهَرَ وَالدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ آمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرْفَعَ ذِكْرِي وَتَضَعَ وَزِرْي وَتُصْلِحَ أَمْرِي وَتُطَهِّرَ قَلْبِي وَتُحَصِّنَ فَرْجِي وَتُنَوِّرَ لِي قَلْبِي وَتَغْفِرَ لِي ذَنْبِي وَأَسْأَلُكَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ آمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَبَارَكَ لِي فِي نَفْسِي وَفِي سَمْعِي وَفِي بَصَرِي وَفِي رُوحِي وَفِي خَلْقِي وَفِي خُلُقِي وَفِي أَهْلِي وَفِي مَحْيَايَ وَفِي مَمَاتِي وَفِي عَمَلِي فَتَقَبَّلْ حَسَنَاتِي وَأَسْأَلُكَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ آمِينَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "And the Lord, Blessed and Exalted, mentioned, saying: Say, 'O Allah, I ask You for what is good and to refrain from what is evil, and to love the poor, and to forgive me, and have mercy on me. And if You intend to afflict a people with a trial, then take me to You without affecting me.' And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Teach them to your womenfolk, for by the One in whose Hand is my soul, they are true.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَذَكَرَ الرَّبَّ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَقَالَ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَأَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَتَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ فِتْنَةً فِي قَوْمٍ فَتَوَفَّنِي غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَعَلِّمُوهُنَّ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُنَّ الْحَقُّ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the Fajr prayer, so much so that the sun almost caught up with us. Then he came out and led us in prayer, reducing its length. Afterwards, he turned to us and said: "Do you know what caused me to delay the prayer today? I prayed during this night as Allah willed, but then my eyes closed and I fell asleep. I saw my Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, who inspired me to say: 'O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, for abandoning evil deeds, for loving the poor, for granting me repentance and forgiveness, for having mercy on me, and when You decree a trial upon Your creation, save me from it without being affected. O Allah, I ask You for Your love, for the love of those who love You, and for the love of deeds that will draw me closer to Your love.'" Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to us and said: "Teach them and instruct them, for they deserve it."  

«أَبْطَأَ عَنَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِصَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى كَادَتْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَنَا الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا فَخَفَّفَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَقْبَلْ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ» فَقَالَ عَلَى مَكَانِكُمْ أُخْبِرُكُمْ مَا أَبْطَأَنِي عَنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ فِي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ فِي لَيْلَتِي هَذِهِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَلَكَتْنِي عَيْنِي فَنِمْتُ فَرَأَيْتُ رَبِّي تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَأَلْهَمَنِي أَنْ قُلْتُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَأَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَتَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ فِي خَلْقِكَ فِتْنَةً فَنَجِّنِي إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ اللَّهُمَّ وَأَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَى حُبِّكَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «تُعَلَّمُوهُنَّ وَادْرُسُوهُنَّ فَإِنَّهُنَّ حَقٌّ»  

[Machine] Abu Bakr As-Siddiq entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and spoke to him about something he concealed from Aisha. Aisha was praying, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Aisha, beware of the hypocrites!" or other words. When Aisha finished praying, she asked him about it, and he said to her, "Say, 'O Allah, I ask You for all the good, both immediate and future, that I know and that I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all the evil, both immediate and future, that I know and that I do not know. And I ask You for Paradise and whatever brings one closer to it in speech or action. And I seek refuge in You from the Hellfire and whatever brings one closer to it in speech or action. And I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Messenger Muhammad asked of You, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what Your servant and Messenger Muhammad sought refuge in You from.' And I ask You for whatever You have decreed for me in any matter, that it may lead to righteousness."  

أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَلَّمَهُ فِي شَيْءٍ يُخْفِيهِ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ وَعَائِشَةُ تُصَلِّي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا عَائِشَةُ عَلَيْكِ بِالْكَوَامِلِ» أَوْ كَلِمَةٍ أُخْرَى فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَتْ عَائِشَةُ سَأَلَتْهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لَهَا قُولِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا سَأَلَكَ عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا اسْتَعَاذَ بِكَ مِنْهُ عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مَا قَضَيْتَ لِي مِنْ أَمْرٍ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ عَاقِبَتَهُ رُشْدًا  

[Machine] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, this is what Abu Na'ama and Shu'bah said about him: I preserve it and if he contradicted it, then the saying is that of Shu'bah."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ «هَكَذَا قَالَهُ أَبُو نَعَامَةَ وَشُعْبَةُ أَحْفَظُ مِنْهُ وَإِذَا خَالَفَهُ فَالْقَوْلُ قَوْلُ شُعْبَةَ»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, it is narrated that he used to call upon Allah and say, "O Allah, forgive our sins, our injustices, our jokes, our seriousness, our deliberate actions, and all of that which is with us."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو وَيَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَظُلْمَنَا وَهَزْلَنَا وَجِدَّنَا وَعَمَدْنَا وَكُلَّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَنَا»  

[Machine] She said, "Gabriel ﷺ came to the Prophet (saw) and said, 'Verily, Allah commands you to invoke these words, for He will grant you one of them. O Allah, I ask for Your expedited recovery, patience in facing Your trials, or departure from this world to Your mercy.'"  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ فَإِنَّهُ مُعْطِيكَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَعْجِيلَ عَافِيَتِكَ وَصَبْرًا عَلَى بَلِيَّتِكَ أَوْ خُرُوجًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى رَحْمَتِكَ  

[Machine] It was from the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "O Allah, bless me with good hearing and eyesight, and make them an inheritance from me. Grant me victory over those who wronged me, and show me vengeance in them."  

كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِسَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي وَاجْعَلْهُمَا الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِي وَأَرِنِي فِيهِ ثَأْرِي»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised Salman al-Khair and said, 'O Salman, indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wants to grant you words that you ask the Most Merciful for, and seek His pleasure through them day and night. Say, "O Allah, I ask You for a sound faith, and faith in good character, and success that is followed by prosperity, and mercy and well-being and forgiveness and satisfaction from You."'  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَصَّى سَلْمَانَ الْخَيْرِ فَقَالَ يَا سَلْمَانُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَمْنَحَكَ كَلِمَاتٍ تَسْأَلُهُنَّ الرَّحْمَنَ وَتَرْغَبُ إِلَيْهِ فِيهِنَّ وَتَدْعُو بِهِنَّ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ صِحَّةً فِي إِيمَانٍ وَإِيمَانًا فِي حُسْنِ خُلُقٍ وَنَجَاحًا يَتْبَعُهُ فَلَاحٌ وَرَحْمَةً مِنْكَ وَعَافِيَةً وَمَغْفِرَةً مِنْكَ وَرِضْوَانًا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says, 'O Allah, I testify that You are Allah, there is no god but You, alone, without partner, and I testify that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger,' Allah will free one-third of him from the Fire. Whoever says it twice, Allah will free two-thirds of him from the Fire. Whoever says it three times, Allah will free him completely from the Fire."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ وَأُشْهِدُ مَلَائِكَتَكَ وَحَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ وَأُشْهِدُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ مَنْ قَالَهَا مَرَّةً أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ ثُلُثَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَنْ قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ ثُلُثَيْهِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَنْ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ كُلَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was praying, and he said, "Ask and you shall be given, O son of Umme Abd." Omar said, "I started doing it, along with Abu Bakr. But Abu Bakr surpassed me and said, 'Verily, among my supplications that I hardly fail to make is O Allah, I ask You for eternal bliss that never perishes, and the delight of the eye that never fades, and the companionship of the Prophet ﷺ in the highest paradise.'  

مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي فَقَالَ «سَلْ تُعْطَهْ يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ فَابْتَدَرْتُهُ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فَسَبَقَنِي إِلَيْهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ دُعَائِي الَّذِي لَا أَكَادُ أَدَعُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ نَعِيمًا لَا يَبِيدُ وَقُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لَا تَنْفَدُ وَمُرَافَقَةَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي أَعْلَى جُنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ  

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he used to supplicate with these words: "O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, there is nothing after You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature whose forelock is in Your hand. I seek refuge in You from sin and laziness, and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trials of wealth, and from the trials of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from sins and debts. O Allah, purify my heart from sins as You purify the white garment from filth. O Allah, distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East from the West."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ «اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ لَا شَيْءَ قَبْلَكَ وَأَنْتَ الْآخِرُ فَلَا شَيْءَ بَعْدَكَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ نَاصِيَتُهَا بِيَدِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْغِنَى وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ اللَّهُمَّ بَعِّدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطِيئَتِي كَمَا بَعَّدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ»  

"Ammar bin Yasir led us in prayer and he made it brief. Some of the people said to him: 'You made the prayer sort (or brief).' He said: 'Nevertheless I still recited supplications that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' When he got up and left, a man -- he was my father but he did not name himself -- followed him and asked him about that supplication, then he came and told the people: "Allāhumma bi ʿilmikal-ghaiba wa qudratika 'alal-khalqi aḥyinī mā ʿalimtal-ḥayāta khairan lī, wa tawaffanī idhā ʿalimtal-wafāta khairan lī. Allāhumma wa 'as'aluka khashyataka fil-ghaibi wash-shahādati wa 'as'aluka kalimatal-ḥaqqi fir-riḍā'i wal ghaḍab, wa as'alukal-qaṣda fil faqri wal-ghina, wa 'as'aluka naʿīman lā yanfadu wa 'as'aluka qurrata ʿainin lā tanqaṭiʿu wa as'alukar-riḍā'i baʿdal-qaḍā'i wa 'as'aluka bardal ʿaishi baʿdal-mawti, wa 'as'aluka ladhdhatan-naẓari ilā wajhika wash-shawqa ilā liqā'ika fī ghairi ḍarrā'a muḍirratin wa lā fitnatin muḍillatin, Allāhumma zayyinnā bizīnatil-īmāni wajʿalna hudātan muhtadīn (O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive so long as You know that living is good for me and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me. O Allah, cause me to fear You in secret and in public. I ask You to make me true in speech in times of pleasure and of anger. I ask You to make me moderate in times of wealth and poverty. And I ask You for everlasting delight and joy that will never cease. I ask You to make me pleased with that which You have decreed and for an easy life after death. I askYou for the sweetness of looking upon Your face and a longing to meet You in a manner that does not entail a calamity that will bring about harm or a trial that will cause deviation. O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1305)   

أَنَّهُ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ وَمَا صَلَاةٌ أَوْجَزَ فِيهَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا أَبَا الْيَقْظَانِ خَفَّفْتَ قَالَ «مَا عَلَيَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَقَدْ دَعَوْتُ فِيهَا بِدَعَوَاتٍ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ» قَالَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَتَبِعَهُ هُوَ أَبُو عَطَاءٍ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الدُّعَاءِ فَرَجَعَ فَجَاءَ فَأَخْبَرَ «اللَّهُمَّ بِعِلْمِكَ الْغَيْبَ وَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ أَحْيِنِي مَا عَلِمْتَ الْحَيَاةَ خَيْرًا لِي وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي اللَّهُمَّ وَأَسْأَلُكَ خَشْيَتَكَ فِي الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ كَلِمَةَ الْحُكْمِ فِي الْغَضَبِ وَالرِّضَا وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْدَ فِي الْغِنَى وَالْفَقْرِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ نَعِيمًا لَا يَبِيدُ وَأَسْأَلُكَ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لَا تَنْفَدُ وَلَا تَنْقَطِعُ وَأَسْأَلُكَ الرِّضَا بَعْدَ الْقَضَاءِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ بَرْدَ الْعَيْشِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ النَّظَرَ إِلَى لَذَّةِ وَجْهِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ الشَّوْقَ إِلَى لِقَائِكَ فِي غَيْرِ ضَرَّاءَ مُضِرَّةٍ وَلَا فِتْنَةٍ مُضِلَّةٍ اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنَّا بِزِينَةِ الْإِيمَانِ وَاجْعَلْنَا هُدَاةً مُهْتَدِينَ»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , that he used to supplicate: "O Allah, keep me steadfast in Islam whether standing, sitting, or lying down. And protect me from an enemy who is envious. O Allah, I ask You for all goodness whose treasures are within Your hands, and I seek refuge in You from all evil whose treasures are within Your hands."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو «اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَائِمًا وَاحْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ قَاعِدًا وَاحْفَظْنِي بِالْإِسْلَامِ رَاقِدًا وَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِي عَدُوًّا حَاسِدًا وَاللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ خَزَائِنُهُ بِيَدِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ خَزَائِنُهُ بِيَدِكَ»  

[Machine] "It was from the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : 'O Allah, we ask You for what leads to Your mercy and for the dignity to gain Your forgiveness, and for safety from every sin, and for the enjoyment of every virtue, and for success in attaining Paradise and deliverance from the Fire with Your help.'"  

كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مُوجِبَاتِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَعَزَائِمَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ وَالسَّلَامَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ إِثْمٍ وَالْغَنِيمَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ بِرٍّ وَالْفَوْزَ بِالْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّجَاةَ بِعَوْنِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'There is no heart that is not between two of the Fingers of the Most Merciful. If He wills, He guides it and if He wills, He sends it astray.' The Messenger of Allah used to say: 'O You Who makes hearts steadfast make our hearts steadfast in adhering to Your religion.' And he said: 'The Scale is in the Hand of the Most Merciful; He will cause some peoples to rise and others to fall until the day of Resurrection.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 199)  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ قَلْبٍ إِلَّا بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنْ شَاءَ أَقَامَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَزَاغَهُ» وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكِ وَالْمِيزَانُ بِيَدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَرْفَعُ أَقْوَامًا وَيَخْفِضُ آخَرِينَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to frequently say, "O Turner of the hearts! Keep my heart steadfast on Your religion."  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولُ «يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Ask and you will be given." I said, "O Allah, I ask You for oaths that will not be broken, blessings that will not be exhausted, and the companionship of Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the highest level of Paradise, the everlasting Paradise."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «سَلْ تُعْطَهْ» قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَيْمَانًا لَا يَرْتَدُّ وَنَعِيمًا لَا يَنْفَدُ وَمُرَافَقَةَ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فِي أَعْلَى دَرَجِ الْجَنَّةِ جَنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ  

[Machine] A blind man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication that I can make to Allah, through which He will restore my sight." The Prophet responded to him, saying, "Say, 'O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through Your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy, O Muhammad. I have turned to my Lord with you, so intercede for me and advocate for me in my plea.' " The man then made this supplication, and when he stood up, he found that his sight had been restored. Shabib bin Sa'id Al-Habti, who narrated this incident from Ru'h bin Al-Qasim, added, "There are additions to the text and chain of narration, and the statement attributed to Shabib is trustworthy and reliable."  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا ضَرِيرَ الْبَصَرِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلِّمْنِي دُعَاءً أَدْعُو بِهِ يَرُدُّ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ بَصَرِي فَقَالَ لَهُ «قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي قَدْ تَوَجَّهْتُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّي اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ وَشَفِّعْنِي فِي نَفْسِي» فَدَعَا بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ فَقَامَ وَقَدْ أَبْصَرَ تَابَعَهُ شَبِيبُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْحَبَطِيُّ عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ «زِيَادَاتٍ فِي الْمَتْنِ وَالْإِسْنَادِ وَالْقَوْلُ فِيهِ قَوْلُ شَبِيبٍ فَإِنَّهُ ثِقَةٌ مَأْمُونٌ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a blind man came to him, complaining about the loss of his eyesight. The blind man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not have a guide and it has become difficult for me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Go to the pool, perform ablution, then pray two units of prayer. After that, say: 'O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , the Prophet of Mercy. O Muhammad, I turn to Allah through you, so that Allah may restore my eyesight.' O Allah, intercede for him and intercede for me." Uthman said, "By Allah, we did not separate and the conversation did not take long until the man entered, as if he had never had any sight problems."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرٌ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ ذَهَابَ بَصَرِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ لِي قَائِدٌ وَقَدْ شَقَّ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ائْتِ الْمِيضَأَةَ فَتَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَيُجَلِّي لِي عَنْ بَصَرِي اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ وَشَفِّعْنِي فِي نَفْسِي قَالَ عُثْمَانُ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا تَفَرَّقْنَا وَلَا طَالَ بِنَا الْحَدِيثُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ وَكَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِهِ ضُرٌّ قَطُّ  

[Machine] To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , say: "O Allah, I am weak, so grant me strength in seeking your pleasure. Take hold of goodness with the best of my efforts, and make Islam the ultimate source of my satisfaction. O Allah, I am weak, so strengthen me. I am humiliated, so honor me. I am poor, so provide for me."  

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ضَعِيفٌ فَقَوِّ فِي رِضَاكَ ضَعْفِي وَخُذْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ بِنَاصِيَتِي وَاجْعَلِ الْإِسْلَامَ مُنْتَهَى رِضَائِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ضَعِيفٌ فَقَوِّنِي وَإِنِّي ذَلِيلٌ فَأَعِزَّنِي وَإِنِّي فَقِيرٌ فَارْزُقْنِي»  

[Machine] From Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I was asked, "O Muhammad! Say something to me so that I may benefit from it." He replied, "Say, 'O Allah! I ask You for the performance of good deeds, the abandoning of evil deeds, love for the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And when You intend to afflict a people with a trial, take me unto You without having been affected by it. O Allah! I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and love for actions that will make me reach Your love.'"  

عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قِيلَ لِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ قُلْ تُسْمَعْ وَسَلْ تُعْطَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَأَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ بِقَوْمٍ فِتْنَةً فَتَوَفَّنِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا غَيْرُ مَفْتُونٍ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبًّا يُبَلِّغُنِي حُبَّكَ»  

[Machine] One of the supplications of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was: "O Allah, grant me enjoyment of my hearing and sight until You make them my inheritance, and make me well in my religion, body, and help me against those who wrong me, until You show me vengeance against them. O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, and entrusted my affair to You, and have relied on You for protection from the back, and directed my face towards You. There is no refuge from You except to You. I have believed in Your Messenger whom You have sent, and in Your Book which You have revealed."  

كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِسَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي حَتَّى تَجْعَلَهُمَا الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي وَعَافِنِي فِي دِينِي وَجَسَدِي وَانْصُرْنِي مِمَّنْ ظَلَمَنِي حَتَّى تُرِيَنِي فِيهِ ثَأْرِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَخَلَّيْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ لَا مَلْجَأَ مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ وَبِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ»  

[Machine] "He would never sit in a gathering without anyone else present, except that he would say, 'O Allah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, and what I have hidden and what I have made public, and what You know of me that I do not know. O Allah, grant me from Your obedience what will come between me and Your disobedience, and grant me from Your fear what will bring me closer to Your mercy, and grant me from certainty what will make worldly tribulations easier for me. Bless my hearing and my vision and make them my heirs. O Allah, seek revenge for me from those who wrong me, and help me against those who oppose me, and do not make the world my greatest concern, and do not allow knowledge to be beyond my reach. O Allah, do not let those who do not show mercy towards me have control over me.'" Ibn 'Umar was asked about them, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to conclude his gatherings with them."  

أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَجْلِسُ مَجْلِسًا كَانَ عِنْدَهُ أَحَدٌ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ إِلَّا قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَعْصِيَتَكَ وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنِي بِهِ رَحْمَتَكَ وَارْزُقْنِي مِنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيَّ مَصَائِبَ الدُّنْيَا وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي سَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي وَاجْعَلْهُمَا الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي اللَّهُمَّ وَخُذْ بِثَأْرِي مِمَّنْ ظَلَمَنِي وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانِي وَلَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّي وَلَا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِي اللَّهُمَّ وَلَا تُسَلَّطْ عَلَيَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُنِي» فَسُئِلَ عَنْهُنَّ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْتِمُ بِهِنَّ مَجْلِسَهُ»  

When the food cloth was removed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “praise be to Allah abundantly and sincerely, of such a nature as is productive of blessing, is not insufficient, Abandoned, or ignored, O our lord.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3849)  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا رُفِعَتِ الْمَائِدَةُ قَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا فِيهِ غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: Moses, peace be upon him, said: O Lord, teach me something by which I may remember You and supplicate to You. He said: O Moses, say: There is no deity but Allah. He said: O Lord, all Your servants say this. He said: Say: There is no deity but Allah. He said: There is no deity but You, O Lord. Verily, I desire something exclusive to me. He said: O Moses, if the seven heavens and all that they contain besides Me, as well as the seven earths, were all placed in one pan of a scale, and "There is no deity but Allah" placed in the other, the latter would outweigh them all.  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَا رَبِّ عَلِّمْنِي شَيْئًا أَذْكُرُكَ بِهِ وَأَدْعُوكَ بِهِ قَالَ يَا مُوسَى قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ كُلُّ عِبَادِكَ يَقُولُ هَذَا قَالَ قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ إِنَّمَا أُرِيدُ شَيْئًا تُخُصُّنِي بِهِ قَالَ يَا مُوسَى لَوْ كَانَ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَعَامِرُهُنَّ غَيْرِي وَالْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعُ فِي كِفَّةٍ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فِي كِفَّةٍ مَالَتْ بِهِنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ  

“A man from my nation will be called before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and ninety-nine scrolls will be spread out for him, each one extending as far as the eye can see. Then Allah will say: “Do you deny anything of this?” He will say: “No, O Lord.” He will say: “Have My recording scribes been unfair to you?” Then He will say: “Apart from that, do you have any good deeds?” The man will be terrified and will say: “No.” (Allah) will say: “Indeed, you have good deeds with Us, and you will not be treated unjustly this Day.” Then a card will be brought out on which is written Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger). He will say: “O Lord, what is this card compared with these scrolls?” He will say: “You will not be treated unjustly.” Then the scrolls will be placed in one side of the Balance and the card in the other. The scrolls will go up (i.e., be light) and the card will go down (i.e., will weigh heavily).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4300)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَاحُ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُنْشَرُ لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ سِجِلًّا كُلُّ سِجِلٍّ مَدَّ الْبَصَرِ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَتُنْكِرُ مِنْ هَذَا شَيْئًا؟ فَيَقُولُ لَا يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ أَلَكَ عُذْرٌ أَوْ حَسَنَةٌ؟ فَيَهَابُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَقُولُ لَا يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ بَلَى إِنَّ لَكَ عِنْدَنَا حَسَنَاتٍ وَإِنَّهُ لَا ظُلْمَ عَلَيْكَ فَيُخْرَجُ لَهُ بِطَاقَةٌ فِيهَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مَا هَذِهِ الْبِطَاقَةُ مَعَ هَذِهِ السِّجِلَّاتِ؟ فَيَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لَا تُظْلَمُ قَالَ فَيُوضَعُ السِّجِلَّاتُ فِي كِفَّةٍ وَالْبِطَاقَةُ فِي كِفَّةٍ فَطَاشَتِ السِّجِلَّاتُ وَثَقُلَتِ الْبِطَاقَةُ  

[Machine] I heard Awsat al-Bajali on the pulpit of Hims saying, "I heard Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, certainty in the first and the last, so ask Allah for forgiveness, well-being, and certainty in both worlds. For indeed, what the servant attains after certainty is better than well-being.'"  

سَمِعْتُ أَوْسَطَ الْبَجَلِيَّ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ حِمْصٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ فَاخْتَنَقَتْهُ الْعَبْرَةُ وَبَكَى ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ عَامَ أَوَّلَ «سَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ وَالْيَقِينَ فِي الْأُولَى وَالْآخِرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ مَا أُوتِي الْعَبْدُ بَعْدَ الْيَقِينِ خَيْرًا مِنَ الْعَافِيَةِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to his uncle, "Pray for good health frequently."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَمِّهِ «أَكْثِرِ الدُّعَاءَ بِالْعَافِيَةِ»  

" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to the path of righteousness and provide me sustenance." (Using translation from Muslim 2697a)   

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُعَلِّمُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنْ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْحَمْنِي»  

“O Allah, grant me health in my body, and grant me health in my sight, and make it the inheritor from me, there is none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous, Glory is to Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne, and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all that exists (Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī jasadi, wa ʿāfinī fī baṣarī, wajʿalhul-wāritha minnī, lā ilāha illāllah, al-ḥalīmul-karīm, subḥān Allāhi rabbil-ʿarshil-aẓīm, wal-ḥamdulillāhi rabbil-ʿalamīn).” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3480)  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي جَسَدِي وَعَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»  

"O Messenger of Allah, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?" He said: "Say: 'Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3850)   

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ مَا أَقُولُ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ قُولِي «اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي»  

from miserliness, cowardice, the tribulations of the heart (grudges, envy, bad attitude and bad beliefs), the torment of the grave and old age. (Using translation from Aḥmad 145)  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ خَمْسٍ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَسُوءِ الْعُمُرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say in his invocation: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, old age, harshness, neglectfulness, ill-heartedness, humility, humiliation, poverty, disbelief, disobedience, sinfulness, discord, hypocrisy, bad reputation, showing off, and I seek refuge in You from deafness, dumbness, madness, leprosy, and bad diseases."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي دُعَائِهِ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْقَسْوَةِ وَالْغَفْلَةِ وَالْعِيلَةَ وَالذِّلَّةَ وَالْمَسْكَنَةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَالْكُفْرِ وَالْفُسُوقِ وَالشِّقَاقِ وَالنِّفَاقِ وَالسُّمْعَةِ وَالرِّيَاءِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الصَّمَمِ وَالْبَكَمِ وَالْجُنُونِ وَالْجُذَامِ وَالْبَرَصِ وَسَيِّئِ الْأَسْقَامِ»  

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to say these words in his supplication: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dain, wa ghalabatil-'aduwwi, wa shamatatil-a'da'. (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from being overwhelmed with debt, from being overpowered by the enemy and from the enemy rejoicing over my misfortunes.)'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5475)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الْعَدُوِّ وَشَمَاتَةِ الْأَعْدَاءِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate and say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing of Your blessings, the changing of Your health, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your anger." Ibn Wahb mentioned that Ya'qub reported this from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Ibn Umar. And Hafs transmitted it.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو فَيَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَمِنْ تَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَمِنْ فُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَمِنْ جَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ» قَالَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ذَكَرَهُ يَعْقُوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ «وَأَرْسَلَهُ حَفْصٌ  

the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "Seek refuge with Allah from poverty, insufficiency and humiliation, and from wronging (others) and being wronged.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3842)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْفَقْرَ وَالْقِلَّةِ وَالذِّلَّةِ وَأَنْ تُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَنْ تَظْلِمَ»  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from my house falling on me, I seek refuge in Thee from falling into an abyss, I seek refuge in Thee from drowning burning and decrepitude. I seek refuge in Thee from the devil harming me at the time of my death, I seek refuge in Thee from dying in Thy path while retreating, and I seek refuge in Thee from dying of the sting of a poisonous creature." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1552)   

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو فَيَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَدْمِ وَالتَّرَدِّي وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْغَمِّ وَالْغَرَقِ وَالْحَرَقِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَتَخَبَّطَنِي الشَّيْطَانُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ مُدْبِرًا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ لَدِيغًا»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, protect me from immoral manners, desires, actions, and diseases."  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي مُنْكَرَاتِ الْأَخْلَاقِ وَالْأَهْوَاءِ وَالْأَعْمَالِ وَالْأَدْوَاءِ»  

The Prophet [SAW] said: "A'udhu billahi minal-kufri wad-dain. (I seek refuge with Allah from Kufr and debt.)" A man said: "Are you equating debt with Kufr?" He said: "Yes." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5474)   

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالدَّيْنِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَتَعْدِلُ الْكُفْرَ بِالدَّيْنِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»
