[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the Fajr prayer, so much so that the sun almost caught up with us. Then he came out and led us in prayer, reducing its length. Afterwards, he turned to us and said: "Do you know what caused me to delay the prayer today? I prayed during this night as Allah willed, but then my eyes closed and I fell asleep. I saw my Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, who inspired me to say: 'O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, for abandoning evil deeds, for loving the poor, for granting me repentance and forgiveness, for having mercy on me, and when You decree a trial upon Your creation, save me from it without being affected. O Allah, I ask You for Your love, for the love of those who love You, and for the love of deeds that will draw me closer to Your love.'" Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to us and said: "Teach them and instruct them, for they deserve it."

«أَبْطَأَ عَنَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِصَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى كَادَتْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَنَا الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا فَخَفَّفَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَقْبَلْ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ» فَقَالَ عَلَى مَكَانِكُمْ أُخْبِرُكُمْ مَا أَبْطَأَنِي عَنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ فِي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ فِي لَيْلَتِي هَذِهِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَلَكَتْنِي عَيْنِي فَنِمْتُ فَرَأَيْتُ رَبِّي تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَأَلْهَمَنِي أَنْ قُلْتُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَأَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَتَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ فِي خَلْقِكَ فِتْنَةً فَنَجِّنِي إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ اللَّهُمَّ وَأَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَى حُبِّكَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «تُعَلَّمُوهُنَّ وَادْرُسُوهُنَّ فَإِنَّهُنَّ حَقٌّ»
