Anas said, "Rain fell on us while we were with the Prophet ﷺ took of his garment so that the rain could fall on him. We said, 'Why did you do that?' He said, 'Because it has newly come from its Lord.'"

عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ أَصَابَنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَطَرٌ فَحَسَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَوْبَهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أَصَابَهُ الْمَطَرُ قُلْنَا لِمَ فَعَلْتَ؟ قَالَ لأَنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ

It rained upon us as we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) removed his cloth (from a part of his body) till the rain fell on it. We said: Messenger of Allah, why did you do this? He said: It is because it (the rainfall) has just come from the Exalted Lord.

أَنَسٌ أَصَابَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَطَرٌ قَالَ فَحَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى أَصَابَهُ مِنْ الْمَطَرِ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا قَالَ لِأَنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ تَعَالَى

Because it has recently been with its Lord.

أَصَابَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَطَرٌ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَحَسَرَ ثَوْبَهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أَصَابَهُ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا قَالَ لأَنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ

[AI] "We were blessed with rain during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He went out and tucked up his garment until the rain reached him. It was said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, why have you done this?' He said: 'Because it is a sign of Allah's covenant.'"

مُطِرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ فَحَسَرَ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى أَصَابَهُ الْمَطَرُ قَالَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ لِأَنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ

[AI] The translation of the given statement into English is as follows:

"When it used to rain, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his garment from his back until the rain touches him. He was asked, 'Why do you do this?' He replied, 'It is a sign of the covenant with His Lord, the Almighty.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَمْطَرَتِ السَّمَاءُ حَسَرَ ثَوْبَهُ عَنْ ظَهْرِهِ حَتَّى يُصِيبَهُ الْمَطَرُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ لِمَ تَصْنَعُ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ ﷻ»

[AI] "We were caught in the rain while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so it caused his garment to become soaked. We said, 'Why did you do this, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'This rain is a sign of the promise of Allah.'"

مُطِرْنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَحَسَرَ عَنْ ثَوْبِهِ لِلْمَطَرِ قُلْنَا لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِرَبِّهِ»

[AI] It rained on us, so the Prophet ﷺ went out and was sad until he got wet in the rain. He was asked, "Why did you do this?" He said, "Indeed, it is a sign of the covenant with his Lord." Abu Abdullah said, "I did not understand why he was sad and why he got wet as he wanted."
