Ar-Rabi, the daughter of An-Nadr broke the tooth of a girl, and the relatives of Ar-Rabiʿ requested the girl's relatives to accept the Irsh (compensation for wounds etc.) and forgive (the offender), but they refused. So, they went to the Prophet ﷺ who ordered them to bring about retaliation. Anas bin An-Nadr asked, "O Allah"; Apostle! Will the tooth of Ar-Rabiʿ be broken? No, by Him Who has sent you with the Truth, her tooth will not be broken." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Anas! Allah"; law ordains retaliation." Later the relatives of the girl agreed and forgave her. The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are some of Allah's slaves who, if they take an oath by Allah, are responded to by Allah i.e. their oath is fulfilled). Anas added, "The people agreed and accepted the Irsh."

أَنَّ الرُّبَيِّعَ وَهْىَ ابْنَةُ النَّضْرِ كَسَرَتْ ثَنِيَّةَ جَارِيَةٍ فَطَلَبُوا الأَرْشَ وَطَلَبُوا الْعَفْوَ فَأَبَوْا فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالْقِصَاصِ فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ أَتُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّةُ الرُّبَيِّعِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لاَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لاَ تُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّتُهَا فَقَالَ يَا أَنَسُ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ الْقِصَاصُ فَرَضِيَ الْقَوْمُ وَعَفَوْا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ لأَبَرَّهُ زَادَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ فَرَضِيَ الْقَوْمُ وَقَبِلُوا الأَرْشَ

That his aunt, Ar-Rubai' broke an incisor tooth of a girl. My aunt's family requested the girl's relatives for forgiveness but they refused; then they proposed a compensation, but they refused. Then they went to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and refused everything except Al-Qisas (i.e. equality in punishment). So Allah's Apostle passed the judgment of Al-Qisas (i.e. equality of punishment). Anas bin Al-Nadr said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Will the incisor tooth of Ar-Rubai be broken? No, by Him Who sent you with the Truth, her incisor tooth will not be broken." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Anas! The prescribed law of Allah is equality in punishment (i.e. Al-Qisas.)" Thereupon those people became satisfied and forgave her. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among Allah's Worshippers there are some who, if they took Allah's Oath (for something), Allah fulfill their oaths."

أَنَّ الرُّبَيِّعَ عَمَّتَهُ كَسَرَتْ ثَنِيَّةَ جَارِيَةٍ فَطَلَبُوا إِلَيْهَا الْعَفْوَ فَأَبَوْا فَعَرَضُوا الأَرْشَ فَأَبَوْا فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبَوْا إِلاَّ الْقِصَاصَ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْقِصَاصِ فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّةُ الرُّبَيِّعِ لاَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لاَ تُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّتُهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا أَنَسُ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ الْقِصَاصُ فَرَضِيَ الْقَوْمُ فَعَفَوْا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ لأَبَرَّهُ

"Ar-Rubai broke the front tooth of a girls, and they asked them (her people) to forgive her, but they refused. They offered them blood money, but they refused. Then they went to the Prophet and he decreed relation. Anas Bin An-Nadr said: "O Messenger of Allah, will you break the front tooth of Ar-Rubai'? No, by the One Who sent you with the truth, it will not be broken!" He said: "O Anas, what Allah has decreed is retaliation." But the people agreed to forgive her. He (the Prophet) said: "There are among the slaves of Allah who, if they swear by Allah, Allah fulfills their oath."

Al-Rubayyi', sister of Anas b. al-Nadr, broke (one of) the front teeth of a woman. They came to the Prophet ﷺ. He made a decision in accordance with the Book of Allah that retaliation should be taken. Anas b. al-Nadr said: I swear by Him who has sent you the truth, her front tooth will not be broken today. He replied: Anas ! Allah's decree is retaliation. But the people were agreeable to accepting a fine, so the Prophet ﷺ said: Among Allah's servants there are those who, if they adjured Allah, He (Allah) would consent to it. Abu Dawud said: I heard Ahmad b. Hanbal say: He was asked : How retaliation of a tooth is taken ? He said: It is broken with a file.

They offered to pay compensatory money, but they refused. So they came to Prophet ﷺ who ordered retaliation. Anas bin Nadr said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, will the tooth of Rubai' be broken? By the One Who sent you with the truth, it will not be broken!' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Anas, what Allah has decreed is retaliation.' So the people accepted that and forgave her. أَنَّ الرُّبَيِّعَ بِنْتَ النَّضْرِ عَمَّتَهُ لَطَمَتْ جَارِيَةً وَكَسَرَتْ سِنَّهَا فَعَرَضُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَرْشَ فَأَبَوْا فَطَلَبُوا الْعَفْوَ فَأَبَوْا فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالْقِصَاصِ فَجَاءَ أَخُوهَا أَنَسُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتُكْسَرُ سِنُّ الرُّبَيِّعِ؟ لَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا تُكْسَرُ سِنُّهَا فَقَالَ «يَا أَنَسُ كِتَابُ اللهِ الْقِصَاصُ فَعَفَا الْقَوْمُ» فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ»

[Machine] That Al-Rubay'a bint Al-Nadr slapped a girl from the Ansar, breaking her four teeth. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ and requested retaliation. Anas ibn Al-Nadr said, "O Messenger of Allah, will the teeth of Al-Rubay'a be broken?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Anas, the retaliation is in the hands of Allah." The people forgave her, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, among the servants of Allah, there is someone who, if he were to swear by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath."

لَطَمَتِ الرُّبَيِّعُ بِنْتُ النَّضْرِ جَارِيَةً فَكَسَرَتْ ثَنِيَّتَهَا فَطَلَبُوا إِلَيْهِمُ الْعَفْوَ فَأَبَوْا وَعَرَضُوا الْأَرْشَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَبَوْا فَأَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ بِالْقِصَاصِ فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّةُ الرُّبَيِّعِ؟ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا تُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّتُهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَا أَنَسُ كِتَابُ اللهِ الْقِصَاصُ فَرَضِيَ الْقَوْمُ فَعَفَوْا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ

[Machine] That Rabi'a, the daughter of Nadr, broke the necklace of a servant girl, so they presented compensation to her, but she refused. They then offered forgiveness, but she still refused. So, they went to the Prophet ﷺ , who ordered retribution. Anas ibn Nadr, her brother, came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, would you really break the necklace of Rabi'a?" He replied, "No, I swear by the One who sent you with the truth, her necklace will not be broken." Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Anas, the law of God is retribution." He responded, "The people have agreed and forgiven." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, among the servants of Allah are those who, if they were to swear by Allah, would fulfill it."
