وَسَلَّم فَجَاءَ حَبْرٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَدَفَعْتُهُ دَفْعَةً كَادَ أَنْ يُصْرَعَ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ لِمَ دَفَعْتَنِي فَقُلْتُ ألا تقل يا رَسولَ اللهِ قال اليهودي إن نَدْعُوهُ بِاسْمِهِ الَّذِي سَمَّاهُ بِهِ أَهْلُهُ فَقَالَ رَسولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إِنَّ اسْمِي مُحَمَّدًا الَّذِي سَمَّانِي بِهِ أَهْلِي فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَنْفَعُكَ إِنْ حَدَّثْتُكَ قَالَ أَسْمَعُ بِأُذُنَيَّ فنكتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم بِعُودٍ كَانَ مَعَهُ فَقَالَ سَلْ فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أَيْنَ يَكُونُ الناس حين تبدل الأرض غير الأرض والسَّماوَات فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم هُمْ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ دُونَ الْجِسْرِ قَالَ فَمَنْ أَوَّلُ النَّاسِ إِجَازَةً قَالَ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ قَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ فَمَا تُحْفَتُهُمْ قَالَ يُنْحَرُ لَهُمْ نُونُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّذِي كَانَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا قَالَ فَمَا شَرَابُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ مِنْ عَيْنٍ فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلا قَالَ صَدَقْتَوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رُوِيَ نَحْوُ كَلامِهِ فَأَمَّا بِهَذِهِ الأَلْفَاظِ وَهَذَا الطُّولِ فَلا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا رَوَاهُ إلاَّ ثَوْبَانُ ولاَ نَعْلَمُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ إلاَّ هَذَا الطَّرِيقِ وَطَرِيقُهُ حَسَنٌ لأَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ صالح رَوَى عَنْهُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ وَهَكَذَا زَيْدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ وَأبُو سَلامٍ وَأبُو أَسْمَاءَ فَرَجُلٌ مَعْرُوفٌ وَحَدَّثَ عَنْهُ النَّاسُ

I pushed him backwith a push that he was going to fall. Upon this he said: Why do you push me? I said: Why don't you say: O Messenger of Allah? The Jew said: We call him by the name by which he was named by his family. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: My name is Muhammad with which I was named by my family. The Jew said: I have come to ask you (something). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Should that thing be of any benefit to you, if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I will lend my ears to it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a line with the help of the stick that he had with him and then said: Ask (whatever you like). Thereupon the Jew said: Where would the human beings be on the Daywhen the earth would change into another earth and the heavens too (would change into other heavens)? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: They would be in darkness beside the Bridge. He (the Jew) again said: Who amongst people would be the first to cross (this bridge).? He said: They would be the poor amongst the refugees. The Jew said: What would constitute their breakfast when they would enter Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: A caul of the fish-liver. He (the Jew) said. What would be their food alter this? He (the Holy Prophet) said: A bullockwhich was fed in the different quarters of Paradise would be slaughtered for them. He (the Jew) said: What would be their drink? He (the Holy Prophet) said: They would be given drink from the fountain which is named" Salsabil". He (the Jew) said: I have come to ask you about a thing which no one amongst the people on the earth knows except an apostle or one or two men besides him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Would it benefit you if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I would lend ears to that. He then said: I have come to ask you about the child. He (the Holy Prophet) said: The reproductive substance of man is white and that of woman (i. e. ovum central portion) yellow, and when they have sexual intercourse and the male's substance (chromosomes and genes) prevails upon the female's substance (chromosomes and genes), it is the male child that is created by Allah's Decree, and when the substance of the female prevails upon the substance contributed by the male, a female child is formed by the Decree of Allah. The Jew said: What you have said is true; verily you are an Apostle. He then returned and went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He asked me about such and such things of which I have had no knowledge till Allah gave me that.

[Machine] "Thawban, the slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated: I was standing in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a Jew passed by us and said, 'Peace be upon you, O Muhammad.' I pushed him away forcefully, almost causing harm to him. He asked, 'Why did you push me?' I replied, 'Don't you say 'O Messenger of Allah?' The Jew said, 'Indeed, we call him by the name his family gave him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, my name that my family gave me is Muhammad.' The Jew said, 'I came to ask you,' and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'How can I benefit you if I speak to you?' The Jew replied, 'I will listen with my ears.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ picked up a stick and said, 'Ask.' The Jew asked, 'Where will people be on the day when the earth and heavens are changed except for the earth and the heavens?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'They will be in darkness before the resurrection.' The Jew asked, 'Who will be the first to be granted permission?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'The poor emigrants.' The Jew asked, 'What will be their appearance when they enter Paradise?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'It will be an increase in the livers like that of the fish (the Prophet Yunus).' The Jew asked, 'What will be their sustenance in the shadow (of Paradise)?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'The slaughtered animals from Paradise, which they used to eat from its edges.' The Jew asked, 'What will be their drink?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'A river called Salsabil.' The Jew said, 'You have spoken the truth.'" Similar narration can be found in Bukhari and Muslim.

أَنَّ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كُنْتُ قَاعِدًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَ حَبْرٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَدَفَعْتُهُ دَفْعَةً كَادَ أَنْ يُصْرَعَ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ لِمَ تَدْفَعُنِي؟ فَقُلْتُ أَوَلَا تَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ إِنَّمَا نَدْعُوهُ بِاسْمِهِ الَّذِي سَمَّاهُ أَهْلُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اسْمِي مُحَمَّدٌ الَّذِي سَمَّانِي بِهِ أَهْلِي» فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْفَعُكَ شَيْءٌ إِنْ حَدَّثْتُكَ؟» قَالَ أَسْمَعُ بِأُذُنِي فَنَكَتَ بِعُودٍ مَعَهُ فَقَالَ «سَلْ» قَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أيْنَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُمْ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ دُونَ الْجِسْرِ» قَالَ فَمَنْ أَوَّلُ النَّاسِ إِجَازَةً؟ قَالَ «فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ» فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ فَمَا تَحِيَّتُهُمْ حِينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ «زِيَادَةُ كَبِدِ الْحُوتِ» قَالَ فَمَا غِذَاؤُهُمْ عَلَى أَثَرِهَا؟ قَالَ «يُنْحَرُ لَهُمْ ثَوْرُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّذِي يَأْكُلُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا» قَالَ فَمَا شَرَابُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ «مِنْ عَيْنٍ تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلًا» قَالَ صَدَقْتَ وَجِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ لَا يَعْلَمُهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ أَوْ رَجُلٌ أَوْ رَجُلَانِ قَالَ «يَنْفَعُكَ إِنْ حَدَّثْتُكَ؟» قَالَ أَسْمَعُ بِأُذُنِي قَالَ جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنِ الْوَلَدِ قَالَ «مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ أَبْيَضُ وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ أَصْفَرُ فَإِذَا اجْتَمَعَا فَعَلَا مَنِيُّ الرَّجُلِ مَنِيَّ الْمَرْأَةِ ذَكَرًا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ وَإِذَا عَلَا مَنِيُّ الْمَرْأَةِ مَنِيَّ الرَّجُلِ أُنْثَى بِإِذْنِ اللهِ» فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ لَقَدْ صَدَقْتَ وَإِنَّكَ نَبِيٌّ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَذَهَبَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَقَدْ سَأَلَنِي هَذَا عَنِ الَّذِيِ يَسْأَلُنِي عَنْهُ وَمَالِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهُ عَلِمٌ حَتَّى أَنْبَأَنِيَ اللهُ ﷻ»
While I was standing beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one of the rabbis of the Jews came and said: Peace be upon you, O Muhammad. I pushed him backwith a push that he was going to fall. Upon this he said: Why do you push me? I said: Why don't you say: O Messenger of Allah? The Jew said: We call him by the name by which he was named by his family. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: My name is Muhammad with which I was named by my family. The Jew said: I have come to ask you (something). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Should that thing be of any benefit to you, if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I will lend my ears to it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a line with the help of the stick that he had with him and then said: Ask (whatever you like). Thereupon the Jew said: Where would the human beings be on the Daywhen the earth would change into another earth and the heavens too (would change into other heavens)? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: They would be in darkness beside the Bridge. He (the Jew) again said: Who amongst people would be the first to cross (this bridge).? He said: They would be the poor amongst the refugees. The Jew said: What would constitute their breakfast when they would enter Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: A caul of the fish-liver. He (the Jew) said. What would be their food alter this? He (the Holy Prophet) said: A bullockwhich was fed in the different quarters of Paradise would be slaughtered for them. He (the Jew) said: What would be their drink? He (the Holy Prophet) said: They would be given drink from the fountain which is named" Salsabil". He (the Jew) said: I have come to ask you about a thing which no one amongst the people on the earth knows except an apostle or one or two men besides him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Would it benefit you if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I would lend ears to that. He then said: I have come to ask you about the child. He (the Holy Prophet) said: The reproductive substance of man is white and that of woman (i. e. ovum central portion) yellow, and when they have sexual intercourse and the male's substance (chromosomes and genes) prevails upon the female's substance (chromosomes and genes), it is the male child that is created by Allah's Decree, and when the substance of the female prevails upon the substance contributed by the male, a female child is formed by the Decree of Allah. The Jew said: What you have said is true; verily you are an Apostle. He then returned and went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He asked me about such and such things of which I have had no knowledge till Allah gave me that. (Using translation from Muslim 315a)

" عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ حَاطِبِ بْنِ أَبِى بَلْتَعَةَ قَالَ: بَعَثَنِى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ إِلَى الْمُقَوقِسِ مَلِك الإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةِ، فَجِئْتُهُ بِكِتَابِ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ ، فَأنْزَلَنِى فِى مَنْزِلٍ، فَأقَمْتُ عِنْدَهُ لَيَالِىَ، ثُمَّ بَعَثَ إِلَىَّ وَقَدْ جَمَعَ بَطَارِقَتَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّى سَأُكَلِّمُكَ بكَلَامٍ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ تَفْهَمَهُ مِنِّى، فَقَالَ: كَلِّمْ، فَقَالَ: أَخْبرْنِى عَنْ صَاحِبِكَ ألَيْسَ هُوَ نَبِىٌّ؟ فَقُلْتُ: بَلَى، وَهُوَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ . قَالَ: فَمَا لَهُ حَيْثُ كَانَ هَكَذَا لَمْ يَدْعُ عَلَى (قَوْمِهِ) حينَ أخْرَجُوهُ مِنْ بَلَدِهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ: عِيسَى بْنُ مَرْيَمَ ألَيْسَ هُوَ نَبِىٌّ؟ قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ الله. قُلْتُ: (فَمَا لَهُ) حَيْثُ أَخَذَهُ قَوْمُهُ فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَصْلِبُوهُ أَن لَا يَكُونَ دَعَا عَلَيْهِمْ بِأَنْ يُهْلِكَهُمُ الله (حَتَّى رَفَعَهُ الله إِلَيْه في سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا؟ ) قَالَ: أَحْسَنْتَ، أَنْتَ حَكِيمٌ جَاءَ مِنْ عِنْدِ حَكِيمٍ. هَذِهِ هَدَايَا أَبْعَثُ بِهَا مَعَكَ إِلَى مُحمَّدٍ ﷺ ، وَأَبْعَثُ مَعَكَ بِبَدْرَقَةٍ () يُبَدْر قُونَكَ إِلَى مَأمَنِكَ، قَالَ فَأَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ الله ﷺ ثَلَاثَ جَوَارِى مِنْهُنَّ أُمُّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ ، وَوَاحِدَةٌ وَهَبَهَا رَسُولُ الله ﷺ لأَبِى جَهْمِ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ الْعَدَوِىِّ، وَوَاحِدَةٌ لِحَسَّان بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ بِثَيَابٍ مَعَ (طُرَفٍ) ( *) مِنْ طُرَفِهِمْ".
