[Machine] The sun eclipsed, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people with him prayed. He stood for a long time, reciting a portion from Surah Al-Baqarah and in the narration of Abu Mus'ab, he recited a portion from Surah Al-Baqarah.  

البيهقي:٦٣٤٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ ح وَأنبأ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ جَمِيعًا عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالنَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَقَامَ قِيَامًا طَوِيلًا بِنَحْوٍ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي مُصْعَبٍ قَرَأَ نَحْوًا مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي هَذَا دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مَا قَرَأَ لِأَنَّهُ لَوْ سَمِعَهُ لَمْ يُقَدِّرْهُ بِغَيْرِهِ
