[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he stood in prayer, he raised his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders. Then he would say the takbir (Allahu Akbar). He used to do that when he would start the rukoo' (bowing) and when he raised his head from rukoo'. He would say, "Allah listens to the one who praises Him." However, he did not do that while in prostration. Ibn Al-Mubarak also used to raise his hands in this manner in the five daily prayers, the voluntary prayers, the two Eid prayers, and funeral prayers. And Abu Abdullah mentioned this elsewhere. Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Hamdan and Ibrahim ibn Hilal and Ali ibn Al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated the same from Ibn Al-Mubarak through Yunus, and he mentioned it in the same way. However, he did not mention Ibn Al-Mubarak's action.
