[Machine] I detained them after the Asr prayer, and then recited to them, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price" [Al-Imran 77]. They then confessed.  

البيهقي:٢٠٧٠٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُؤَمَّلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ مِنَ الطَّائِفِ فِي جَارِيَتَيْنِ ضَرَبَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا الْأُخْرَى وَلَا شَاهِدَ عَلَيْهِمَا فَكَتَبَ إِلِيَّ أَنِ

احْبِسْهُمَا بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ اقْرَأْ عَلَيْهِمَا {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} [آل عمران 77] فَفَعَلْتُ؛ فَاعْتَرَفَتْ
