البيهقي:٢٠٢٤١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحِيرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَحْيَى يُعَاتِبُ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ مَنْصُورٍ عَلَى دُخُولِهِ فِي الْعَدَالَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ أَلَيْسَ حَكَيْتَ أَنْتَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ لَا تَكُنْ مُعَدِّلًا وَلَا مَنْ يَعْرِفُهُ مُعَدِّلٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ

يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى إِنَّمَا الْعَدَالَةُ طُبَيْقٌ يُبْعَثُ إِلَى أَحَدِهِمْ
