[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Should one of you beat his wife like he beats a slave, and then have sexual intercourse with her at the end of the day." And in the narration of Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah, he said that the Prophet ﷺ advised the people regarding women and said, "One of you should beat his wife like he beats a slave, and then embrace her at the end of the day."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيَضْرِبُ أَحَدُكُمُ امْرَأَتَهُ كَمَا يَضْرِبُ الْعَبْدَ ثُمَّ يُجَامِعُهَا فِي آخِرِ الْيَوْمِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ وَعَظَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ النَّاسَ فِي النِّسَاءِ فَقَالَ يَضْرِبُ أَحَدُكُمُ امْرَأَتَهُ ضَرْبَ الْعَبْدِ ثُمَّ يُعَانِقُهَا مِنْ آخِرِ النَّهَارِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not beat the female slaves of Allah." So 'Umar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Women have become emboldened over their husbands, so give them permission to beat them." So they were given permission and they started to beat them. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went around among the women, and there were many women with him. He said, "Tonight, seventy women from the family of Muhammad have gone around complaining about their husbands. You will not find those among the best of you."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَضْرِبُوا إِمَاءَ اللهِ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ ؓ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ ذَئِرَ النِّسَاءُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَضَرَبُوا فَأَطَافَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نِسَاءٌ كَثِيرٌ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ أَطَافَ بِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اللَّيْلَةَ سَبْعُونَ امْرَأَةً كُلُّهُنَّ يَشْتَكِينَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ وَلَا تَجِدُونَ أُولَئِكَ خِيَارَكُمْ
