“The soul of the believer is attached to his debt until it is paid off.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2413)
[Machine] "The Prophet, may ﷺ , offered the funeral prayer and when he finished, he asked, 'Is there anyone from the family of so-and-so?' Someone answered multiple times. The Prophet, may ﷺ , then stood up and a man from the back of the crowd approached, dragging his garment behind him. The Prophet, may ﷺ , said to him, 'I did not call for you specifically except for something good. Indeed, so-and-so is a man from among them who is burdened with debt. If you were to see his family and those who are responsible for his affairs stand up and take care of his debts, it would fulfill the narration of al-Baghdadi, which is reported regarding relieving the deceased from debts. It is narrated from Ibn Umar as a raised narration, and from Zaid bin Thabit as a stopped narration. Both narrations are weak.'"
