The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution. He inserted his two fingers in the ear-holes. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 131)  

أحمد:٢٧٠١٩ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ حَسَنٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنِ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَدْخَلَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي جُحْرِ أُذُنَيْهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَدْخَلَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي جُحْرَىْ أُذُنَيْهِ  

ibnmajah:441 – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah And ʿAlī b. Muḥammad > Wakīʿ > al-Ḥasan b. Ṣāliḥ > ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl > al-Rubayyiʿ b. Muʿawwidh Ibn ʿAfrāʾ
