How the Prophet ﷺ knew when ʿĀʾishah was upset with him

ahmad:24012 – ʿAbbād b. ʿAbbād > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say to her, "I know when you're upset and when you are pleased." She said: And how do you know that, O Messenger of Allah? He said, "When you are upset ˹with me,˺ you say, 'O Muḥammad', and when you are pleased ˹with me,˺ you say, 'O Messenger of Allah.'  

أحمد:٢٤٠١٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ لَهَا: «إِنِّي أَعْرِفُ غَضَبَكِ إِذَا غَضِبْتِ، وَرِضَاكِ إِذَا رَضِيتِ۔» قَالَتْ: وَكَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «إِذَا غَضِبْتِ قُلْتِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ وَإِذَا رَضِيتِ قُلْتِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ۔»
