"When a third of the night had passed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and said: 'O you people! Remember Allah! Remember Allah! The Rajifah is coming, followed by the Radifah, death and what it brings is coming, death and what it brings is coming!'"

Ubay said that I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I send a lot of Ṣalāt upon you. How much of my Ṣalāt should I make for you?" He said, "As you wish." I said, "˹How about˺ a fourth?" He said, "As you wish, but if do more, it would be better for you." I said, "˹How about˺ one-half?" He said, "As you wish, but if you do more, it would be better for you." I said, "Then ˹how about˺ two-thirds?" He said, "As you wish, but if you do more, it would be better for you."

I said: "Should I make all of my ˹duʿāʾ as˺ Ṣalāt for you?" He said, "˹If you do this˺ it would be sufficient for your concerns and it would be forgiveness for your sins."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثَا اللَّيْلِ قَامَ فَقَالَ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ! اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ! جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ، تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ، جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ! جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ!»

قَالَ أُبَىٌّ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أُكْثِرُ الصَّلاَةَ عَلَيْكَ، فَكَمْ أَجْعَلُ لَكَ مِنْ صَلاَتِي؟ فَقَالَ: «مَا شِئْتَ۔» قَالَ قُلْتُ: الرُّبُعَ؟ قَالَ: «مَا شِئْتَ، فَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ۔» قُلْتُ: النِّصْفَ؟ قَالَ: «مَا شِئْتَ، فَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ۔» قَالَ قُلْتُ: فَالثُّلُثَيْنِ؟ قَالَ: «مَا شِئْتَ، فَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ۔»

قُلْتُ: أَجْعَلُ لَكَ صَلاَتِي كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ: «إِذًا تُكْفَى هَمَّكَ وَيُغْفَرُ لَكَ ذَنْبُكَ۔»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The earthquake comes followed by the aftershock, and then death comes with all that it entails."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ, when a quarter of the night had passed, used to say, "O people, remember Allah's favor on you. O people, remember that the shaking (of the Hour) will come after which comes calmness. Then the second shaking comes after which comes calmness. Then a third shaking will come and it will be followed by a calamity whose magnitude is beyond description. Then the Hour will be established with its signs." Ubayy bin Ka'b said, "O Messenger of Allah, I invoke salutations upon you frequently. How much of my supplication should I devote to you?" He said, "As you like."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ رُبْعُ اللَّيْلِ قَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ» فَقَالَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُكْثِرُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَمْ أَجْعَلُ لَكَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي؟ قَالَ «مَا شِئْتَ» الْحَدِيثُ

"When a third of the night had passed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and said: 'O you people! Remember Allah! Remember Allah! Indeed I say very much Salat for you. How much of my Salat should I make for you?' He said: 'As you wish.'" [He said:] "I said: 'A fourth?' He said: 'As you wish. But if you add more it would be better for you.' I said: 'Then half?' He said: 'As you wish. And if you add more it would be better [for you].'" [He said:] "I said: 'Then two-thirds? 'He said: 'As you wish, but if you add more it would be better for you.' I said: 'Should I make all of my Salat for you?' He said: 'Then your problems would be solved and your sins would be forgiven.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2457)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ رُبْعُ اللَّيْلِ قَامَ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ» فَقَالَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُكْثِرُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَمْ أَجْعَلُ لَكَ مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ «مَا شِئْتَ» قَالَ الرُّبُعُ؟ قَالَ «مَا شِئْتَ وَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ» قَالَ النِّصْفُ؟ قَالَ «مَا شِئْتَ وَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ» قَالَ الثُّلُثَيْنِ؟ قَالَ «مَا شِئْتَ وَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَجْعَلُهَا كُلَّهَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ «إِذًا تُكْفَى هَمَّكَ وَيُغْفَرُ لَكَ ذَنْبُكَ»

[Machine] A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, should I make one-third of my prayers for you?" He said, "Yes, if you wish." The man asked, "What if I make two-thirds of my prayers for you?" He said, "Yes." The man then asked, "And if I dedicate all of my prayers to you?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "In that case, Allah will suffice you in all matters of your worldly life and the Hereafter that concern you."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَجْعَلُ ثُلُثَ صَلَاتِي عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ إِنْ شِئْتَ» قَالَ الثُّلُثَيْنِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ فَصَلَاتِي كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَنْ يَكْفِيكَ اللهُ مَا أَهَمَّكَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكَ وَآخِرَتِكَ»

"يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ: اذكُرُوا اللهَ، جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ، جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ، جَاءَ المَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ، جَاءَ المَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ".

"عَنْ أُبَىٍّ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثَا الَّليْلِ قَامَ فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا الله، اذْكُرُوا الله، جَاءَتِ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ، جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ، جَاءَ الْمَوْتُ بِمَا فِيهِ، قُلتُ: يَا رَسُولَ الله إِنِّى أُكْثِرُ الصَّلاَةَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَمْ أَجْعَلُ لَكَ مِنْ صَلاَتِى؟ قَالَ: مَا شِئْتَ، قُلتُ: الرُّبيِّع، قَالَ: مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنْ زِدْتَهُ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ، قُلتُ: فَالنِّصْفُ قَالَ: مَا شِئْتَ، فَإِنْ زِدْتَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ، قُلتُ: أجْعَلُ لَكَ صلاَتِى كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ: إِذَنْ تُكْفَى هَمَّكَ ويُغْفَر ذَنْبُكَ".

" عَنْ حَبَّان بْنِ مُنْقذٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ الله أَجْعَلُ ثُلُثَ صَلَاتِى عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ إِنْ شِئْتَ، قَالَ: الثُّلُثَيْنِ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَصَلَاتِى كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ: إِذَنْ يَكْفِيكَ الله مَا أَهَمَّكَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكَ وآخِرَتِكَ".
