[Machine] His Messenger, ﷺ , said: "O Anjasha, settle down (or lead) a trading expedition with the bottles."

ahmad:12042Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas > Aslam Nās from ʿUraynah Fājtawawā al-Madīnah

"Some people from 'Uraynah became Muslim, but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to them: 'Why don't you go out to some camels of ours and drink their milk?'" - (one of the narrators) Humaid said: "And Qatadah said, narrating from Anas: 'And their urine.'" - "So they did that, and when they recovered they reverted to disbelief after their Islam, killed the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], who was a believer, drove off the camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and fled as those at war. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent someone to bring them and they were caught. He had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes branded, then he left them in Al-Harrah until they died." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4031)

ahmad:12044Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumaydʿan Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not ask me about anything until the Day of Resurrection, except that I will inform you." Abdullah ibn Hudhafah said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is my father?" He said, "Your father is Hudhafah." His mother said, "Did you want anything from him?" He said, "I wanted to rest." It was said about him (Abdullah ibn Hudhafah), Humaid said, and I think this is narrated from Anas, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry. Umar said, "We are content with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as our Prophet. We seek refuge with Allah from the anger of Allah and the anger of His Messenger."

ahmad:12045Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , said: "The best of remedies you treat yourselves with are cupping and sea incense, and do not torture your children with branding."

ahmad:12046Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumaydʿan Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and there I found a palace made of gold. So, I asked, 'Who does this palace belong to?' They replied, 'It belongs to a young man from the Quraysh.' I asked, 'Who is he?' They replied, 'He is Umar ibn al-Khattab.' Then, I said, 'If it wasn't for what I know about your jealousy, I would have entered it.' Umar said, 'May I be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I am jealous for your sake.'"

ahmad:12048Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd

[Machine] Anas ibn Malik, I have never touched anything softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ nor smelled a fragrance more pleasant than the scent of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

ahmad:12049Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd And ʿAbd Allāh b. Bakr al-Sahmī > Ḥumayd > Thābit > Anas

Did you supplicate for anything or beg of Him about that? He said: Yes. I used to utter (these words): Impose punishment upon me earlier in this world, what Thou art going to impose upon me in the Hereafter. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Hallowed be Allah, you have neither the power nor forbearance to take upon yourself (the burden of His Punishment). Why did you not say this: O Allah, grant us good in the world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of Fire. He (the Holy Prophet) made this supplication (for him) and he was all right. (Using translation from Muslim 2688a)

ahmad:12050Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] The man used to come to the Prophet ﷺ and greet him, and the Prophet would give him something from the worldly possessions. He would not go back until Islam became dearer and more valuable to him than the world and everything in it.

ahmad:12051Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Mūsá b. Anas > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not asked for anything regarding Islam except that he granted it. A man came and asked him, so he commanded for him a large amount of wealth between two mountains from the wealth of charity. The man then returned to his people and said, "O people, embrace Islam, for Muhammad gives generously without fear of poverty."

ahmad:12052Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

“Umm Sulaim sent with me a basket of fresh dates for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but I did not find him, as he had just gone out to a freed slave of his who had invited him and made food for him. I came to him and he was eating, and he called me to eat with him. He (the freed slave) had served him Tharid with meat and gourd, and he liked the gourd, so I started to collect the (pieces of) gourd and put them near him. When he had eaten he went back to him house and I put the basket (of dates) before him, and he started to eat them and share them, until he finished the last of them.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3303)

ahmad:12053Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the house of Umm Salamah, and she presented him with dates and clarified butter. He was fasting, so he said, "Put your dates in a container and your clarified butter in another, then he stood up facing the direction of the Kaaba and performed two units of prayer, and we prayed behind him. Then he made a supplication for Umm Salamah and her household with goodness. Umm Salamah said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a Khawaisah (servant)." He asked, "What is her matter?" She replied, "Your servant Anas." He said, "He will never abandon any goodness, both in this worldly life and the Hereafter, without praying for me regarding it." Then he said, "O Allah, grant him wealth and offspring, and bless him in them." Anas said, "There was no Ansari who had more wealth than me, and he mentioned that he did not possess any gold or silver besides his own ring." He also mentioned that his eldest daughter, Umaynah, informed him that he was buried from his navel to his forehead and was ninety-nine years old.

ahmad:12055Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

ahmad:12056Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] Abu Musa carried the Prophet ﷺ and he coincided with him in some work. Abu Musa said, "By Allah, I will not carry you." When the work was completed, the Prophet ﷺ called him and he carried him. Abu Musa said, "O Messenger of Allah, you swore not to carry me." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I swear by Allah, I will carry you."

ahmad:12057Ibn Abū ʿAdī > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] Abdullah ibn Salam came to the Messenger of Allah and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I ask you about three characteristics that only a prophet knows." He said, "Ask." He said, "What is the first sign of the Hour? What is the first food that the people of Paradise will eat? And from where does a child resemble his father and mother?" The Messenger of Allah said, "Jibril informed me about them before." He said, "The first sign of the Hour is a fire that will emerge from the east and gather the people towards the west. The first food that the people of Paradise will eat is the extra lobe of the liver of a fish. And as for the resemblance of a child to his father and mother, when the man's water (semen) overwhelms the water of the woman, the child will resemble the father. And when the water of the woman overwhelms the water of the man, the child will resemble the mother." He said, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and that you are the Messenger of Allah." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, the Jews are a deceitful people, and if they come to know about my Islam, they will slander me in your presence. So, send for them and ask them about me, saying, 'What kind of person is Abdullah ibn Salam among you?' Then send for me and ask me, 'What kind of person is Abdullah ibn Salam?' They will say, 'He is the best among us, the son of the best among us, our most knowledgeable and the son of our most knowledgeable, our most understanding and the son of our most understanding.' Ask them, 'If he becomes Muslim, will you become Muslim?' They will say, 'May Allah protect him from that.' Then, you send for them again and ask, 'What kind of person is Abdullah ibn Salam among you?' They will say, 'He is the worst among us, the son of the worst among us, our most ignorant and the son of our most ignorant.' Umar and Abu Bakr on his left side said to him: Messenger of Allah, give it to Abu Bakr, but he (the Holy Prophet) gave it to the desert Arab who was on his right. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who is on the right, then he who is on the right. (Using translation from Muslim 2029b)
