[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard the call of "Labbaik" in the open desert, responding to it declaring "Labbaik" for both Umrah and Hajj together.  

أحمد:١٢٠٩١حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُلَبِّي بِالْبَيْدَاءِ لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ مَعًا  

ahmad:12092Sufyān > Hishām b. Ḥassān > Ibn Sīrīn > Anas

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ threw the pebbles at the Jamrah and slaughtered his sacrifice, he shaved his head and gave the barber a gift. Sufyan said that he gave the right side of his head to be shaved first, and then he gave it to Abu Talhah. Then he shaved the left side and gave it to the people.  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٢حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا رَمَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْجَمْرَةَ وَنَحَرَ هَدْيَهُ حَجَمَ وَأَعْطَى الْحَجَّامَ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً وَأَعْطَى الْحَالِقَ شِقَّهُ الْأَيْمَنَ فَحَلَقَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ ثُمَّ حَلَقَ الْأَيْسَرَ فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّاسَ

[Machine] Ukaydir gave a gift of a beautiful robe to the Prophet, ﷺ . People marvelled at its beauty, and he said, "The handkerchief of Saad in Paradise is better or more beautiful than it."  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٣حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

أَهْدَى أُكَيْدِرُ دُومَةَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَعْنِي حُلَّةً فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا فَقَالَ لَمِنْدِيلُ سَعْدٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ أَوْ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهَا

[Machine] "Anas, is it true that you touched the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with your hand?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Show me how you kissed it."  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٤حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ قَالَ قَالَ

ثَابِتٌ لِأَنَسٍ يَا أَنَسُ مَسِسْتَ يَدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِكَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَرِنِي أُقَبِّلُهَا

[Machine] I heard Ibn Jud'aan.

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جُدْعَانَ  

ahmad:12096Sufyān > Qāsim al-Raḥḥāluʾanas

[Machine] Qasim heard Anas say: The Prophet ﷺ entered a ruin of the Bani Najjar as if he were relieving himself in it. He came out to us startled or frightened and said, "If it were not for the fact that you do not bury your dead, I would have asked Allah to make you hear what I hear from the punishment of the people of the graves."  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٦حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ

سَمِعَ قَاسِمٌ الرَّحَّالُأَنَسًا يَقُولُ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَرِبًا لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ كَأَنَّهُ يَقْضِي فِيهَا حَاجَةً فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مَذْعُورًا أَوْ فَزِعًا وَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا لَسَأَلْتُ اللهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَهْلِ الْقُبُورِ مَا أَسْمَعَنِي

[Machine] That the Prophet, ﷺ , used to circulate among his wives in one night while he was performing one single ablution.  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٧حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنِي مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُطِيفُ بِنِسَائِهِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ يَغْتَسِلُ غُسْلًا وَاحِدًا

"I prayed Zuhr with the Prophet ﷺ in Al-Madinah, four Rak'ahs and 'Asr in Dhul-Hulaifah, two Rak'ahs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 469)   

أحمد:١٢٠٩٨حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ مَيْسَرَةَ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ يَقُولَانِ

سَمِعْنَا أَنَسًا يَقُولُ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعًا وَبِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited drinking intoxicants and said that every intoxicant is forbidden. I asked, "What is 'muzaffata'?" He said, "It is wine made from grapes." I asked, "What about 'rasaas' and 'qaaroota'?" He said, "There is no problem with them." I said, "But some people dislike them." He said, "Leave what causes doubt for what does not cause doubt, for every intoxicant is forbidden." I said to him, "You have spoken the truth. Alcohol is forbidden, and the first and second drink makes everything we eat forbidden." He said, "It is only a lot of it that makes one intoxicated, while a little of it is forbidden." He said, "Wine is made from grapes, dates, honey, wheat, barley, and corn. So whatever is made from them is wine."  

أحمد:١٢٠٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْمُخْتَارَ بْنَ فُلْفُلٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي الْأَوْعِيَةِ فَقَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُزَفَّتَةِ وَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَمَا الْمُزَفَّتَةُ؟ قَالَ الْمُقَيَّرَةُ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَالرَّصَاصُ وَالْقَارُورَةُ؟ قَالَ مَا بَأْسٌ بِهِمَا قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ نَاسًا يَكْرَهُونَهُمَا قَالَ دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ فَإِنَّ كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ صَدَقْتَ السُّكْرُ حَرَامٌ فَالشَّرْبَةُ وَالشَّرْبَتَانِعَلَى طَعَامِنَا قَالَ مَا أَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ وَقَالَ الْخَمْرُ مِنَ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ وَالْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالذُّرَةِ فَمَا خَمَّرْتَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ الْخَمْرُ

Whenever the Prophet ﷺ went to answer the call of nature, I used to bring water with which he used to clean his private parts. (Using translation from Bukhārī 217)  

أحمد:١٢١٠٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَبَرَّزَ لِحَاجَتِهِأَتَيْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ فَيَغْسِلُ بِهِ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The voice of Abu Talhah in the army is better than a group."  

أحمد:١٢١٠١قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جُدْعَانَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَصَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ  

ahmad:12102Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > ʿAmr b. Saʿīd > Anas b. Mālik

I have never seen anyone more kind to one's family than Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Ibrahim was sent to the suburb of Medina for suckling. He used to go there and we accompanied him. He entered the house, and it was filled with smoke as his foster-father was a bricksmith. He took him (his son Ibrihim) and kissed him and then came back. 'Amr said that when Ibrihim died. Allah's LMessenger ﷺ said: Ibrihim is my son and he dies as a suckling babe. He has now two foster-mothers who would complete his suckling period in Paradise. (Using translation from Muslim 2316)  

أحمد:١٢١٠٢حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَرْحَمَ بِالْعِيَالِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مُسْتَرْضَعًا فِي عَوَالِي الْمَدِينَةِ فَكَانَيَنْطَلِقُ وَنَحْنُ مَعَهُ فَيَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُدَّخَنُ وَكَانَ ظِئْرُهُ قَيْنًا فَيَأْخُذُهُ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ قَالَ عَمْرٌو فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِي وَإِنَّهُ مَاتَ فِي الثَّدْيِ وَإِنَّ لَهُ ظِئْرَيْنِ يُكْمِلَانِ رَضَاعَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ  

ahmad:12103Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm > Ibn ʿAwn > Anas b. Sīrīn > ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. al-Mundhir b. al-a neighborūd > Anas b. Mālik > Ṣanaʿ Baʿḍ ʿUmūmatī Lilnnabī ﷺ Ṭaʿām

"One of my paternal uncles made some food for the Prophet and said to the Prophet: 'I would like you to eat and perform prayer in my house.' So he went to him, and in his house there was one of these Fahl. He ordered that a corner be swept and water sprinkled in it, then he performed prayer and we prayed with him.'" (Sahih)Abu 'Abdullah bin Majah said: A Fahl is a mat that has become black (through use). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 756)   

أحمد:١٢١٠٣حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْجَارُودِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

صَنَعَ بَعْضُ عُمُومَتِي لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ طَعَامًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ فِي بَيْتِي وَتُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ وَفِي الْبَيْتِ فَحْلٌ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْفُحُولِ فَأَمَرَ بِجَانِبٍ مِنْهُ فَكُنِسَ وَرُشَّ فَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ  

ahmad:12104Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas

The Prophet ﷺ said, "What is wrong with those people who look towards the sky during the prayer?" His talk grew stern while delivering this speech and he said, "They should stop (looking towards the sky during the prayer); otherwise their eyesight would be taken away." (Using translation from Bukhārī 750)  

أحمد:١٢١٠٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُمْ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ فَاشْتَدَّ فِي ذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَالَ لَيَنْتَهُنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ  

ahmad:12105Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah And Ibn Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. Jabr > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ and the woman from his wives used to take a ritual bath from the same vessel. He would take a bath with five scoops of water and perform ablution with a dipper.  

أحمد:١٢١٠٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَالْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ يَغْتَسِلَانِ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيَّ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ  

ahmad:12106Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Saʿīd > Qatādahuʾan Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ ascended a mountain called Uhud, and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman followed him. The mountain shook with them, so the Prophet said, "Settle down, I am a Prophet, Siddiq (the truthful), and two martyrs."  

أحمد:١٢١٠٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُأَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَعِدَ أُحُدًا فَتَبِعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ فَرَجَفَ بِهِمُ فَقَالَ اسْكُنْ نَبِيٌّ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَانِ  

ahmad:12107Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Sufyān > Anas

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would often say: Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik('O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon Your Religion.)' So I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! We believe in you and what you have come with, but do you fear for us?' He said: 'Yes. Indeed the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, He changes them as He wills.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2140)   

أحمد:١٢١٠٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ آمَنَّا بِكَ وَبِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ فَهَلْ تَخَافُ عَلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّ الْقُلُوبَ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ اللهِ ﷻ يُقَلِّبُهَا  

ahmad:12108Abū Usāmah > Sulaymān b. al-Mughīrah > Thābit > Anas

[Machine] Abu Talha came on the day of Hunayn and made the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ laugh at Umm Salim. He asked, "O Messenger of Allah, have you not seen Umm Salim with a dagger?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, "What do you do with it, O Umm Salim?" She replied, "If any of them comes close to me, I stab him with it."  

أحمد:١٢١٠٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ يُضْحِكُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ مَعَهَا خِنْجَرٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا تَصْنَعِينَ بِهِ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ؟ قَالَتْ أَرَدْتُ إِنْ دَنَا مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ طَعَنْتُهُ بِهِ  

ahmad:12109Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿUqbah b. ʿUbayd > Bushayr b. Yasār

[Machine] We asked Anas ibn Malik, "What did you dislike about our situation during the time of the Prophet ﷺ?" He said, "I disliked that you did not straighten the rows (during prayer)."  

أحمد:١٢١٠٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ

قُلْنَا لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ حَالِنَا فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ أَنْكَرْتُ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُقِيمُونَ الصُّفُوفَ  

ahmad:12110Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal > Anas b. Mālik

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever tells a lie about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 584)  

أحمد:١٢١١٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ  

ahmad:12111Abū Muʿāwiyah > Misḥāj al-Ḍabbī > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik saying, "When we were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, whenever the sun would set or it was about to set, he would pray the noon prayer (Dhuhr) and then we would depart."  

أحمد:١٢١١١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْحَاجٌ الضَّبِّيُّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كُنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقُلْنَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ لَمْ تَزُلْ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ ارْتَحَلَ

“One day, Jibril (as) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he was sitting in a sorrowful state with his face soaked with blood, because some of the people of Makkah had struck him. He said: ‘What is the matter with you?’ He said: ‘These people did such and such to me.’ He said: ‘Would you like me to show you a sign?’ He said: ‘Yes, show me.’ He looked at a tree on the far side of the valley and said: ‘Call that tree.’ So he called it, and it came walking until it stood before him. He said: ‘Tell it to go back.’ So he told it, and it went back to its place. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘That is sufficient for me.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4028)   

أحمد:١٢١١٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ حَزِينًا قَدْ خُضِبَ بِالدِّمَاءِ ضَرَبَهُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ فَعَلَ بِي هَؤُلَاءِ وَفَعَلُوا قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ أَتُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَ آيَةً؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْوَادِي فَقَالَ ادْعُ بِتِلْكَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَدَعَاهَا فَجَاءَتْ تَمْشِي حَتَّى قَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْجِعْ فَأَمَرَهَا فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَسْبِي

The Prophet [SAW] used to say: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi, wal-kasali, wal-harami, wal-bukhli, wal-jubni, wa 'audhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamati (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, old age, miserliness and cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death.)" أحمد:١٢١١٣حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ  

ahmad:12114Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Ḥumayd b. Hilāl > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ gave a sermon and said, "Zaid took the flag and was martyred, then Jafar took it and was martyred, then Abdullah bin Rawaha took it and was martyred, and his eyes were shedding tears. Then Khalid took it without command and Allah granted him victory. And what pleases me is that they are with us, or he said what pleases them is that they are with us."  

أحمد:١٢١١٤حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَخَذَ الرَّايَةَ زَيْدٌ فَأُصِيبَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا جَعْفَرٌ فَأُصِيبَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ فَأُصِيبَ وَإِنَّ عَيْنَيْهِ لَتَذْرِفَانِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا خَالِدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِمْرَةٍ فَفَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا أَوْ قَالَ مَا يَسُرُّهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا

[Machine] "Not to exceed the people of the Book over me and over you."  

أحمد:١٢١١٥حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ زَاذَوَيْهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ نُهِينَا أَوْ قَالَ أُمِرْنَا

أَنْ لَا نَزِيدَ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْكُمْ  

ahmad:12116Ismāʿīl Ibn ʿUlayyah > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was closely aligned, and the prayer of Abu Bakr remained the same until Umar prolonged it during the Fajr prayer.  

أحمد:١٢١١٦حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَصَلَاةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَتَّى مَدَّ عُمَرُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ  

ahmad:12117Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Ibn Sīrīn

[Machine] Anas bin Malik was asked, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the Quran?" He replied, "Yes, after the Ruku' (bowing) and then he was asked again, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the Quran in the Fajr prayer?" He said, "Yes, after the Ruku', for a short while."  

أحمد:١٢١١٧حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ هَلْ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ ثُمَّ سُئِلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى هَلْ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ يَسِيرًا

The hair of the Prophet [SAW] came halfway down his ears. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5234)  

أحمد:١٢١١٨حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ شَعْرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ  

ahmad:12119Ismāʿīl > Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the timing of the Fajr prayer. He ordered Bilal to call for the prayer when dawn broke and he performed the prayer. Then he stayed visible until the sun rose and said, "Where is the one who asked about the timing of the morning prayer, between these two times?"  

أحمد:١٢١١٩حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ أَسْفَرَ مِنَ الْغَدِ حَتَّى أَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ مَا بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ  

ahmad:12120Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Muḥammad > Anas

He who slaughtered (the animal as a sacrifice) before the ('Id) prayer. should repeat it (i. e. offer another animal). Thereupon a person stood up and said: Messenger of Allah, that is the day when meat is much desired, and he also made a mention of the need of his neighbour, and perhaps Messenger of Allah ﷺ attested it. He (the person who had sacrificed the animal before the 'Id prayer) said: I have a goat of less than one year of age with me and I like it more than two fleshy goats; should I offer it as a sacrifice? He permitted him to do so. He (the narrator) said: I do not know whether this permission was granted to anyone else besides him or not. Messenger of Allah ﷺ then turned towards two rams. and he slaughtered them, and the people' came to the goats and got them distributed amongst themselves (for offering them as sacrifice). أحمد:١٢١٢٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلْيُعِدْ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا يَوْمٌ يُشْتَهَى فِيهِ اللَّحْمُ وَذَكَرَ هَنَةً مِنْ جِيرَانِهِ فَكَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَدَّقَهُ قَالَ وَعِنْدِي جَذَعَةٌ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ شَاتَيْ لَحْمٍ قَالَ فَرَخَّصَ لَهُ فَلَا أَدْرِي بَلَغَتْ رُخْصَتُهُ مَنْ سِوَاهُ أَمْ لَا؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ انْكَفَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى كَبْشَيْنِ فَذَبَحَهُمَا وَقَامَالنَّاسُ إِلَى غُنَيْمَةٍ فَتَوَزَّعُوهَا أَوْ قَالَ فَتَجَزَّعُوهَا هَكَذَا قَالَ أَيُّوبُ  

ahmad:12121Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Mālik > Ibn Shihāb > Anas b. Mālik

The Prophet ﷺ was brought milk that was mixed with water. A nomad Arab was on his right and Abu Bakr was on his left. He himself drank and gave it to the nomad Arab, and said: He who is on the right , then he who is on his right then he who is on his right. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3726)   

أحمد:١٢١٢١حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَرِبَ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَنَاوَلَهُ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ وَقَالَ الْأَيْمَنَ فَالْأَيْمَنَ  

ahmad:12122Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Nawfal b. Masʿūd > Dakhalnā > Anas b. Mālik Faqulnā Ḥaddithnā Bimā

[Machine] I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Three are not touched by the Fire: one who has faith in Allah, loves Allah, and would prefer to be thrown into the Fire rather than go back to disbelief.  

أحمد:١٢١٢٢حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَقُلْنَا حَدِّثْنَا بِمَا

سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ حُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّارِ وَحُرِّمَتِ النَّارُ عَلَيْهِ إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَحُبُّ اللهِ وَأَنْ يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ فَيُحْرَقَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي الْكُفْرِ  

ahmad:12123Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ḥumayd > Anas b. Mālik

"When died this man die?" They said: "he died during the Jahiliyyah." So he was delighted and said: "Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would have prayed to Allah to make you hear the torment of the grave." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2058)   

أحمد:١٢١٢٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِحَائِطٍ لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتًا مِنْ قَبْرٍ فَقَالَ مَتَى مَاتَ صَاحِبُ هَذَا الْقَبْرِ؟ قَالُوا مَاتَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا لَدَعَوْتُ اللهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ  

ahmad:12124Yaḥyá > ʿUqbah b. ʿUbayd al-Ṭāʾī > Bushayr b. Yasār

[Machine] Anas came to the city and we said to him, "What have you denied from us since the time of the Prophet ﷺ?" So he said, "I have not denied anything from you except that you do not straighten your rows."  

أحمد:١٢١٢٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي بُشَيْرُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَنَسٌ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ مَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنَّا مِنْ عَهْدِ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ مَا أَنْكَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُقِيمُونَ صُفُوفَكُمْ  

ahmad:12125Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Abū al-Tayyāḥ > Anas b. Mālik

There is a blessing in the forelocks of the war horses. (Using translation from Muslim 1874a)  

أحمد:١٢١٢٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَرَكَةُ فِي نَوَاصِي الْخَيْلِ  

ahmad:12126Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Abū al-Tayyāḥ > Anas

“Listen and obey, even if the one appointed over you is an Ethiopian slave with a head like a raisin.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2860)  

أحمد:١٢١٢٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنْ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَبَشِيٌّ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ زَبِيبَةٌ  

ahmad:12127Yaḥyá > Ḥumayd > Thābit > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who was walking between his two sons. They said, "He has vowed to walk." He said, "Indeed, Allah, for punishing himself, is self-sufficient." So he ordered him to ride.  

أحمد:١٢١٢٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ قَالُوا نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ هَذَا لِنَفْسِهِ لَغَنِيٌّ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ

[Machine] The prayer was established, and the Messenger of Allah appointed a guardian for a man until he fell asleep or was about to fall asleep amid some people.  

أحمد:١٢١٢٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى نَعَسَ أَوْ كَادَ يَنْعَسُ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ  

ahmad:12129Yaḥyá > Ḥumayd > Suʾil Anas

[Machine] Regarding the night prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whenever we wished to see him praying, we would see him, and whenever he was sleeping, we would see him."  

أحمد:١٢١٢٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ

عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْنَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ  

ahmad:12130Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ḥumayd > Anas

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in Baqi', and a man called out to another man: 'O Abul-Qasim!' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to him, and he said: 'I didn't mean you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3737)   

أحمد:١٢١٣٠حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَنَادَى رَجُلٌ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَمْ أَعْنِكَ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي  

ahmad:12131Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ḥammād / Ibn Salamah > Isḥāq b. ʿAbdullāh > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Hunayn, "Whoever kills a disbeliever, his belongings are his booty." Then Abu Talhah killed twenty (disbelievers).  

أحمد:١٢١٣١حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ مَنْ قَتَلَ كَافِرًا فَلَهُ سَلَبُهُ قَالَ فَقَتَلَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ عِشْرِينَ  

ahmad:12132Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik say that a Bedouin entered the mosque during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and urinated. The Prophet ﷺ forbade him and said, "Leave him alone." Then he ordered that water be poured either on the affected area or on the urine itself.  

أحمد:١٢١٣٢حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَالَ فَنَهَوْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَعُوهُ وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ أُهَرِيقَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءُ  

ahmad:12133Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > ʿAzrah b. Thābit > Thumāmah b. ʿAbdullāh > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to breathe three times in his utensil, and Anas used to breathe three times.  

أحمد:١٢١٣٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي إِنَائِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَكَانَ أَنَسٌ يَتَنَفَّسُ ثَلَاثًا  

ahmad:12134Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > al-Akhḍar b. ʿAjlān

[Machine] A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him about his need. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you have anything?" So he brought him a saddle and a pot, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who will buy these?" A man said, "I will take them for a dinar." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who will offer more than a dinar?" The people remained silent. Then a man said, "I will take them for two dinars." The Prophet ﷺ said, "They are yours." Then he said, "Verily, begging is not permissible except in three cases: a man who is in debt, a man who is facing a difficult circumstance, or a man who is in extreme poverty."  

أحمد:١٢١٣٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ الْأَخْضَرِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ الْحَاجَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا عِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟ فَأَتَاهُ بِحِلْسٍ وَقَدَحٍ وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا آخُذُهُمَا بِدِرْهَمٍ قَالَ مَنْ يَزِيدُ عَلَى دِرْهَمٍ؟ فَسَكَتَ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ مَنْ يَزِيدُ عَلَى دِرْهَمٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا آخُذُهُمَا بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ قَالَ هُمَا لَكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ إِلَّالِأَحَدِ ثَلَاثٍ ذِي دَمٍ مُوجِعٍ أَوْ غُرْمٍ مُفْظِعٍ أَوْ فَقْرٍ مُدْقِعٍ

"Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman opened the Salat with (Al-Hamdu-lillahi rabbil-alamin)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 246)  

أحمد:١٢١٣٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ} [الفاتحة 2]

[Machine] We used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the Maghrib prayer, and then one of us would go to the Bani Salimah and see his noble sites.  

أحمد:١٢١٣٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى بَنِي سَلِمَةَ وَهُوَ يَرَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ  

ahmad:12137Yaḥyá > Ḥumayd > Anas

[Machine] "He is called Abu 'Umayr, and the Prophet used to make him laugh. One day, he saw him sad and asked, 'O Abu 'Umayr, what happened to the little bird?'"  

أحمد:١٢١٣٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ ابْنٌ

يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ يُضَاحِكُهُ قَالَ فَرَآهُ حَزِينًا فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ  

ahmad:12138Yaḥyá > Ḥumayd > Suʾil Anas > Bayʿ al-Thamar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited selling the dates until they ripen. Anas was asked, "What does it mean to ripen?" He replied, "Until they turn red."  

أحمد:١٢١٣٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ فَقَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ ثَمَرَةِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى تَزْهُوَ قِيلَ لِأَنَسٍ مَا تَزْهُو؟ قَالَ تَحْمَرُّ  

ahmad:12139Yaḥyá And ʾAbū Nuʿaym > Hishām > Qatādah > Abū Nuʿaym > Qatādah > Anas

[Machine] The prophet ﷺ was flogged with leaves and sandals in the issue of alcohol, and Abu Bakr was also flogged. Yahya said in his narration: forty times. When Umar approached the people from the countryside and villages, he asked his companions, "What do you see?" Abdur-Rahman replied, "Make it the lightest of punishments." Then Umar flogged eighty times.  

أحمد:١٢١٣٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ وَقَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

جَلَدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي الْخَمْرِ بِالْجَرِيدِ وَالنِّعَالِ وَجَلَدَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ أَرْبَعِينَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُمَرُ وَدَنَا النَّاسُ مِنَ الرِّيفِ وَالْقُرَى قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ مَا تَرَوْنَ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ اجْعَلْهَا كَأَخَفِّ الْحُدُودِ فَجَلَدَ عُمَرُ ثَمَانِينَ

[Machine] "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ with meat from Khaybar, and he asked him: 'Have you eaten the donkey meat twice?' The man replied: 'Yes, I have consumed donkey meat.' The Prophet then announced: 'Verily, Allah and His Messenger forbid you from consuming donkey meat, for it is impure.'"  

أحمد:١٢١٤٠حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِخَيْبَرَ فَقَالَ أَكَلْتُالْحُمُرَ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ أَفْنَيْتُ الْحُمُرَ قَالَ فَنَادَى إِنَّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ فَإِنَّهَا رِجْسٌ
