ahmad:12134Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > al-Akhḍar b. ʿAjlān

[Machine] A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him about his need. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you have anything?" So he brought him a saddle and a pot, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who will buy these?" A man said, "I will take them for a dinar." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who will offer more than a dinar?" The people remained silent. Then a man said, "I will take them for two dinars." The Prophet ﷺ said, "They are yours." Then he said, "Verily, begging is not permissible except in three cases: a man who is in debt, a man who is facing a difficult circumstance, or a man who is in extreme poverty."
