[Machine] Rabee' bin Khuthaym used to cry until his beard was wet with tears, saying "We encountered a people whom we used to be thieves in their south."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٩٧٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ نُسَيْرِ بْنِ ذُعْلُوقٍ قَالَ

كَانَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ يَبْكِي حَتَّى يَبُلَّ لِحْيَتَهُ مِنْ دُمُوعِهِ فَيَقُولُ «أَدْرَكْنَا قَوْمًا كُنَّا فِي جُنُوبِهِمْ لُصُوصًا»
