Weakness of the Muslim ummah toward the end times

[Machine] Narrated Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Soon the nations will gather and call one another against you, just as diners do when calling one another to share their food. They asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will it be because of our small number on that day?" He said, "No, rather you will be numerous that day, but you will be like foam, like the foam on the surface of floodwaters. Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will place Wahn in your hearts." They asked, "What is Wahn O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The love of life and the hatred of death."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْأُمَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُفُقٍ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الْأَكَلَةُ عَلَى قَصْعَتِهَا قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمِنْ قِلَّةٍ بِنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ وَلَكِنْ تَكُونُونَ غُثَاءً كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ تُنْتَزَعُ الْمَهَابَةُ مِنْ قُلُوبِ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَيَجْعَلُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمُ الْوَهْنَ قَالَ قُلْنَا وَمَا الْوَهْنُ؟ قَالَ حُبُّ الْحَيَاةِ وَكَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَوْتِ  

"يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيْكُمُ الأُمَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُفُقٍ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الأَكَلَةُ إِلَى قَصْعَتِهَا، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه! فَمِنْ قِلَّة مِنَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ: لا، وَلكِنَّكُمْ غُثَاءٌ كغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ، يُجْعَلُ الوَهَنُ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ، وَيُنْزَعُ الرُّعْبُ مِنْ قُلُوبِ عَدُوكُّمْ؛ لِحُبِّكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَكَرَاهِيَتِكُمُ الْمَوْتَ".
