[Machine] Al-Harith ibn As-Simma asked me (the narrator) about Abdurrahman ibn Awf on the day of Uhud while we were in the trenches. I replied: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, I saw him in the heat of the battle, with sweat pouring down his face, and he was being pursued by the disbelievers. So, I hastened towards him to protect him, but then I saw you, so I turned back towards you." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, the angels are fighting alongside him." Al-Harith narrates: "So, I returned to Abdurrahman and found him with seven wounded men around him. I said to him: 'Have you achieved victory and killed these men?' He replied: 'As for this one, I shot him with an arrow from Sharahbil, and as for this one, I killed him. But as for these, someone else killed them.' I said: 'Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.'"
[Machine] About Ibn Shihab on the Naming of the Martyr of the Day of Uhud from the Ansar, from the Banu al-Nabit, al-Harith bin Aws bin Rafi.
[Machine] About his father, regarding the identification of those who fought alongside Ali, Al-Harith Ibn Al-Nu'man was from Badr.
[Machine] He heard Al-Harith bin Dirar Al-Khuzai say: "I visited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he invited me to Islam, so I embraced it and affirmed it. He then invited me to pay Zakat, so I affirmed it too. I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : 'Shall I return to my people and invite them to Islam and paying Zakat? Whoever responds to me, I will collect his Zakat, and you can send a messenger to me to collect what I have gathered. So, when Al-Harith collected Zakat from those who responded to him, and the messenger to whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had intended to send to him was delayed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ detained him. When he did not come, Al-Harith assumed that Allah and His Messenger ﷺ were angry with him, so he called the people of his tribe and said to them: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had set a time for me; he would send his messenger to me to collect the Zakat I had. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never keeps the things of this world, and I do not see him detaining his messenger without a justified reason. So, go, and we will meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent Al-Walid bin 'Uqbah to Al-Harith to collect the Zakat he had gathered. So, when Al-Walid had ridden for some distance, he returned. When he met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Al-Harith prevented me from collecting the Zakat, and he wanted to kill me.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent a group of Sahaba to Al-Harith. When they approached him, they said: 'This is Al-Harith.' But when they came closer, he said: 'Whom have you been sent to?' They replied: 'To you.' He asked them: 'Why?' They said: 'Because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had sent Al-Walid bin 'Uqbah but he returned, claiming that you prevented him from collecting the Zakat and wanted to kill him.' Al-Harith said: 'By the One who sent Muhammad ﷺ with the truth, I have not done what he claims, nor has he come to me. I did not come until I received a message from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ due to my detention of his messenger, fearing that there may be anger from Allah and His Messenger ﷺ against me.' Then Allah revealed the verses from Surah Al-Hujurat (49:6-7) to this point: 'O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.' 'And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah.'

[Machine] As long as he was eager for leadership, we asked him, "And why is that?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought a thief and ordered his killing. It was said to him, 'He has stolen.' So he said, 'Cut off his hand.' Then he was brought to Abu Bakr, and he had stolen and his hands had been cut off. Abu Bakr said, 'I cannot find anything for you except what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has decreed for you on the day he ordered your killing, for he knew you best.' Then he ordered that he be killed, and a group of the immigrants were among them, of whom I was one." Ibn Al-Zubayr said, "Command me regarding this." So we set out with him, and he mentioned the hadith.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Purity is half of faith, and praise be to Allah fills the scale. Subhan Allah and Alhamdulillah fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Salat is a light, and charity is proof (of one's faith), and patience is illumination, and the Quran is a proof for you or against you. Every person goes out in the morning to sell his soul, so he either frees it or destroys it." And this wording is from the hadith of Musa ibn Ismail, and Muslim said in his hadith: There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the greatest, filling what is between the sky and the earth.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are four practices from the pre-Islamic era that will remain in my Ummah (nation/community), which they will not abandon: pride in one's genealogy, slandering others with regard to their lineage, seeking rain through stars, and wailing over the dead. And indeed, the wailing woman who does not repent before her death will come on the Day of Judgment with garments made of pitch and a shield made of fire." Then 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "We left wailing when we abandoned worshiping Al-Lat and al-'Uzza."
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed Allah commanded Yahya bin Zakariyya with five commandments to abide by, and to command the Children of Isra'il to abide by them. But he was slow in doing so. So 'Eisa said: 'Indeed Allah commanded you with five commandments to abide by and to command the Children of Isra'il to abide by. Either you command them, or I shall command them.' So Yahya said: 'I fear that if you precede me in this, then the earth may swallow me, or I shall be punished.' So he gathered the people in Jerusalem, and they filled [the Masjid] and sat upon its balconies. So he said: 'Indeed Allah has commanded me with five commandments to abide by, and to command you to abide by. The first of them is that you worship Allah and not associate anything with him. The parable of the one who associates others with Allah is that of a man who buys a servant with his own gold or silver, then he says to him: "This is my home and this is my business so take care of it and give me the profits." So he takes care of it and gives the profits to someone other than his master. Which of you would live to have a servant like that? And Allah commands you to perform Salat, and when you perform Salat then do not turn away, for Allah is facing the face of His worshipers as long as he does not turn away. And He commands you with fasting. For indeed the parable of fasting, is that of a man in a group with a sachet containing musk. All of them enjoy its fragrance. Indeed the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk. And He commands you to give charity. The parable of that, is a man captured by his enemies, tying his hands to his neck, and they come to him to beat his neck. Then he said: "I can ransom myself from you with a little or a lot" so he ransoms himself from them. And He commands you to remember Allah. For indeed the parable of that, is a man whose enemy quickly tracks him until he reaches an impermeable fortress in which he protects himself from them. This is how the worshiper is; he does not protect himself from Ash-Shaitan except by the remembrance of Allah.'" The Prophet ﷺ said: "And I command you with five that Allah commanded me: Listening and obeying, Jihad, Hijrah, and the Jama'ah. For indeed whoever parts from the Jama'ah the measure of a hand-span, then he has cast off the yoke of Islam from his neck, unless he returns. And whoever calls with the call of Jahiliyyah then he is from the coals of Hell." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah! Even if he performs Salat and fasts?" So he ﷺ said: "Even if he performs Salat and fasts. So call with the call that Allah named you with: Muslims, believers, worshipers of Allah." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2863)
