19. Chapter of ʿAyn (Male) (142/147)
١٩۔ بَابُ الْعَيْنِ ص ١٤٢
حَثْمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] He passed by a storyteller and when he finished, he asked him. He said: "Verily, to Allah we belong and to Him is our return." I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Recite the Quran and ask Allah through it before there comes a people who recite the Quran and ask the people through it."
أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى قَاصٍّ يَقُصُّ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ سَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَسْأَلُونَ بِهِ النَّاسَ»
حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] We enjoyed it during the time of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he did not prohibit us from it, and Allah did not reveal anything regarding it.
«تَمَتَّعْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْهَا وَلَمْ يُنْزِلِ اللهُ ﷻ فِيهَا شَيْئًا»
مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] A man freed six of his slaves before his death and he did not possess any wealth other than them, therefore the Messenger of Allah ﷺ decided to distribute them among themselves, freeing two and returning four to slavery.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ «فَأَقْرَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَرَدَّ أَرْبَعَةً فِي الرِّقِّ»
عَمْرُو بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ was lashed with a bunch of palm leaves and sandals forty times."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَلَدَ فِي الْخَمْرِ بِالْجَرِيدِ وَالنِّعَالِ أَرْبَعِينَ»
شَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no vow to commit an act of disobedience, and its expiation is the expiation for an oath.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3835)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا نَذْرَ فِي مَعْصِيَةٍ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ كَفَّارَةُ يَمِينٍ»
سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no obedience to a creature in disobeying Allah."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ»
مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 696)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»
أَبُو مَعْبَدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There will be four trials. In the first trial, bloodshed will be permitted. In the second trial, both bloodshed and wealth will be permitted. In the third trial, bloodshed, wealth, and chastity will be permitted."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَتَكُونُ أَرْبَعُ فِتَنٍ فِتْنَةٌ يُسْتَحَلُّ فِيهَا الدَّمُ وَالثَّانِيَةُ يُسْتَحَلُّ فِيهَا الدَّمُ وَالْمَالُ وَالثَّالِثَةُ يُسْتَحَلُّ فِيهَا الدَّمُ وَالْمَالُ وَالْفَرْجُ
إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The standing of a man in a row in the way of Allah is better than worshiping for sixty years."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «قِيَامُ رَجُلٍ فِي صَفٍّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عُبَادَةِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةٍ»
19.4.597 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٥٩٧ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الشَّنِّيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever reads the Qur'an, let him ask Allah with it, for indeed after you there will be people who read the Qur'an and ask the people with it."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلْيَسْأَلِ اللهَ بِهِ فَإِنَّ بَعْدَكُمْ قَوْمًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever reads the Qur'an, let him ask Allah with it, for indeed there will come people who will read the Qur'an and ask people with it."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلْيَسْأَلِ اللهَ بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ سَيَأْتِي أَقْوَامٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ وَيَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Read the Quran and ask Allah with it before there comes a people who ask others with it."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ قَوْمٌ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ»
19.4.599 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٥٩٩ مَجَاعَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Increase your footwear, for one of you will continue to be riding as long as he wears shoes."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ النِّعَالِ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَا يَزَالُ رَاكِبًا مَا كَانَ مُتَنَعِّلًا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade accepting the food of the sinful.
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ إِجَابَةِ طَعَامِ الْفَاسِقِينَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The position of a man in the ranks in the path of Allah is better than worship for sixty years."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَقَامُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الصَّفِّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِبَادَةِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةٍ»
[Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night, and he married us at the end of the night. When he woke up and the sun had risen, one of the men among us jumped up in astonishment to his state of impurity. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Set off." So we set off until the sun had risen, then we descended and fulfilled our needs and performed ablution. Then the Prophet ﷺ ordered Bilal to call the adhan, so we prayed two rak'ahs. Then Bilal stood up and led the prayer with us while the Prophet ﷺ joined the congregation. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, shall we make it up for its prescribed time tomorrow?" He said, "Your Lord does not forbid you to perform acts of charity, so take it from you."
سَرَيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ عَرَّسَ بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَقَدْ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا يَثُورُ إِلَى طُهْرِهِ دَهِشًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «ارْتَحِلُوا» فَارْتَحَلْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا ارْتَفَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ نَزَلْنَا فَقَضَيْنَا مِنْ حَوَائِجِنَا وَتَوَضَّأْنَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ فَصَلَّيْنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ بِلَالٌ فَصَلَّى بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَقْضِيهَا لِمِيقَاتِهَا مِنَ الْغَدِ؟ فَقَالَ «لَا يَنْهَاكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ عَنِ الرِّبَا وَيَقْبَلُهُ مِنْكُمْ»
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , passed away while having enmity towards three tribes: Banu Umayyah, Banu Hanifah, and Thaqeef.
«مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُبْغِضُ ثَلَاثَ قَبَائِلَ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ وَبَنِي حَنِيفَةَ وَثَقِيفٍ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Seventy thousand of my Ummah (followers) will enter Paradise without being held accountable. They do not seek Ruqyah (protection through recitation), nor do they believe in the influence of evil omens, and they put their trust in their Lord."
Upon hearing this, 'Ukkasha bin Mihsan stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, make him one of them."
Then, another man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Ukkasha has preceded you in that."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ لَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ» فَقَامَ عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ» فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ «سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ»
19.4.600 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦٠٠ هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no obedience to a creation in disobedience to the Creator."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ الْخَالِقِ»
"There is no 'bringing', no 'avoidance' and no Shighar in Islam, and whoever robs, he is not one of us." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3335)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنِ انْتَهَبَ نُهْبَةً فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»
"There is no 'bringing', no 'avoidance' and no Shighar in Islam, and whoever robs is not one of us." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3590)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنِ انْتَهَبَ نُهْبَةً فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»
There is no Shighar in islam. (Using translation from Muslim 1415d)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»
[Machine] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ he said, 'There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah.'"
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ»
[Machine] "The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not give us a sermon except that he commanded us to give charity and forbade us from engaging in usury."
«مَا خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خِطْبَةً إِلَّا أَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَنَهَى عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Modesty is all good."
أَنْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not address us except to command us to give in charity and to forbid us from adultery.
«مَا خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا أَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ»
19.4.602 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦٠٢ أَبُو قَزَعَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no infection, impurity, or superstition in Islam."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah saw a ring in a man's arm and he said, "What is this?" The man said, "It is a charm." The Messenger of Allah said, "It will only increase your weakness. Remove it from you, even if it is on you when you die and you have entrusted it to it."
رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي عَضُدِ رَجُلٍ حَلْقَةً فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» قَالَ الْوَاهِنَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَنْ تَزِدْكَ إِلَّا وَهْنًا انْبُذْهَا عَنْكَ إِنْ مُتَّ وَهِيَ عَلَيْكَ وُكِلْتَ إِلَيْهَا»
[Machine] Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from fortune-telling, but we still indulged in it and did not achieve success or prosperity.
«إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا عَنِ الْكَيِّ فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَا وَلَا أَنْجَحْنَا»
19.4.605 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦٠٥ سَلْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The position of a man in a row in the way of Allah is better than the world and what is in it. And whoever throws an arrow in the way of Allah, and it reaches (the target) whether he made a mistake or achieved success, then he will be rewarded by setting a slave free. And whoever grows white hair in the way of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَقَامُ رَجُلٍ فِي صَفٍّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَبَلَغَ أَخْطَأَ أَوْ أَصَابَ فَبِعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Hurayrah, "How many gods do you worship today?" Abu Hurayrah replied, "Seven on earth and one in the heavens." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked, "Which of them do you count on and fear the most?" Abu Hurayrah answered, "The one in the heavens." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Hurayrah, if you were to embrace Islam, I would teach you two phrases that would benefit you." When Abu Hurayrah embraced Islam, he went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me the two phrases that you promised." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Say, 'O Allah, inspire me with guidance and prepare me for my own guidance.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَبِي «كَمْ تَعْبُدُ الْيَوْمَ إِلَهًا؟» قَالَ سَبْعَةٌ فِسِتٌّ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَوَاحِدٌ فِي السَّمَاءِ قَالَ «فَأَيُّهُمْ تُعُدُّ لِرَغْبَتِكَ وَرَهْبَتِكَ؟» قَالَ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ قَالَ يَا أَبَا حُصَيْنٍ أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَسْلَمْتَ عَلَّمْتُكَ كَلِمَتَيْنِ تَنْفَعَانِكَ فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَ حُصَيْنٌ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلِّمْنِي الْكَلِمَتَيْنِ الَّتِي وَعَدْتَنِي قَالَ قُلْ «اللهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِي رُشْدِي وَأَعِدْنِي رَشَدَ نَفْسِي»
19.4.607 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦٠٧ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Can any of you do the same actions every day as Uhud?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who can do the same actions every day as Uhud?" He said, "All of you can do it." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is it?" He said, "Glory be to Allah is greater than Uhud, and there is no deity except Allah is greater than Uhud, and praise be to Allah is greater than Uhud, and Allah is the greatest is greater than Uhud."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ عَمَلًا؟» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ عَمَلًا؟ قَالَ «كُلُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُهُ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ»
[Machine] Regarding prayer, we woke up and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not pray such and such prayer?" He replied, "Has our Lord forbidden us from pleasing Him and accepting it from us? It is only excessive indulgence in wakefulness that is discouraged."
عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَاسْتَيْقَظْنَا قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا نُصَلِّي كَذَا وَكَذَا صَلَاةً؟ فَقَالَ «أَيَنْهَانَا رَبُّنَا عَنِ الرِّبَا وَيَقْبَلُهُ مِنَّا؟ إِنَّمَا التَّفْرِيطُ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The accountability of the rich person is a blemish on his face on the Day of Judgment, and the accountability of the rich person is a fire. If he is given a little, he should give a little, and if he is given a lot, he should give a lot."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَسْأَلَةُ الْغَنِيِّ شَيْنٌ فِي وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَسْأَلَةُ الْغَنِيِّ نَارٌ إِنْ أُعْطِيَ قَلِيلٌ فَقَلِيلٌ وَإِنْ أُعْطِيَ كَثِيرٌ فَكَثِيرٌ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There should be no causing harm, nor reciprocating harm, nor spreading harm in Islam."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»
19.4.608 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦٠٨ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not command us except to give charity and to forbid adultery.
«مَا خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا أَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ»
[Machine] There was a man who had six slaves, so he freed them upon his death. The Prophet ﷺ drew lots between them, thus freeing two and keeping four enslaved.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ لَهُ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ فَأَعْتَقَهُمْ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ «فَأَقْرَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً»
[Machine] A man who freed six slaves and then his heirs came and did not find anything, so they went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said, "If I had known that, I would not have prayed upon him, if Allah wills." Then he mentioned six names amongst them and freed two and borrowed four.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ فَجَاءَ وَرَثَتُهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا شَيْئًا فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ «لَوْ عَلِمْتُ ذَاكَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ مَا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ» فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَاسْتَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً
[Machine] A man had freed a slave at his death, and his heirs from the Arab tribes came and informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what he had done. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Why did he do that?" So, he struck a deal between them and freed two slaves, and returned four to bondage.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ أَعْبُدًا لَهُ سِتَّةً عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَجَاءَ وَرَثَتُهُ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ فَأَخْبَرُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَا صَنَعَ فَقَالَ «وَلِمَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ؟» فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَعَتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَرَدَّ أَرْبَعَةً فِي الرِّقِّ
[Machine] A man freed six slaves that he owned before his death. The Prophet ﷺ came to them and he divided them, freeing two of them while keeping the other four as slaves.
أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ سِتَّةَ غِلْمَةٍ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَأَتَى فِيهِمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَقَرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَقَرَعَ اثْنَانِ مِنْهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللَّذَيْنِ قَرَعَا وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً»
19.4.610 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦١٠ عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] A man who had six slaves when he died, and he had no other wealth except them. So the Prophet ﷺ distributed them among themselves and granted freedom to two of them and kept four.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ «فَأَقْرَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً»
“Modesty is part of faith, and faith will be in Paradise. Obscenity in speech is part of harshness and harshness will be in Hell.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4184)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ وَالْإِيمَانُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَالْبَذَاءُ مِنَ الْجَفَاءِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي النَّارِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us and commanded us to give charity and forbade us from engaging in adultery.
«خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah will punish the deceased with the mourning and wailing of his family upon him." So, a man asked, "If someone dies in Khorasan, will he be punished with mourning here?" Imran said, "You have spoken the truth, O Messenger of Allah, and he has lied."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يُعَذِّبُ الْمَيِّتَ بِنِيَاحِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَمُوتُ بِخُرَاسَانَ وَيُصَاحُ عَلَيْهِ هَهُنَا يُعَذَّبُ؟ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَذَّبْتَ
a man freed six slaves of his when he was dying, and he did not have any wealth apart from them. News of that reached the Prophet and he was angry about that. He said: "I was thinking of not offering the funeral prapyer for him." Then he called the slaves and divided them into three groups. He cast lost among them, then freed two and left four as slaves. أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةً مِنَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَغَضِبَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ» ثُمَّ دَعَا مَمْلُوكِيهِ فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً
[Machine] A Muslim woman was captured by the enemy, and they had previously killed a camel belonging to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She saw the people's negligence, and she rode on the Prophet's ﷺ camel. She then made a vow to sacrifice the Prophet's ﷺ camel. He said, "It is terrible what you have done. There is no vow for the son of Adam in something he does not own, nor in disobedience to Allah."
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَسَرَهَا الْعَدُوُّ وَقَدْ كَانُوا أَصَابُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ نَاقَةً لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَتْ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ غَفْلَةً فَرَكِبَتْ نَاقَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَنْحَرَ نَاقَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «بِئْسَمَا جَزَيْتِهَا لَا نَذْرَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ وَلَا فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ»
[Machine] "He saw a ring in the hand of a man and asked, 'What is this?' The man replied, 'It is from superstition.' He said, 'Indeed, it will only weaken you, and even if you die while thinking it will benefit you, you will have died upon other than the natural disposition.'"
أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ رَجُلٍ حَلْقَةً مِنْ صُفَرٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذِهِ؟» قَالَ «مِنَ الْوَاهِنَةِ» قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَا تَزِيدُكَ إِلَّا وَهْنًا وَإِنَّكَ لَوْ مُتَّ وَأَنْتَ تَرَى أَنَّهَا تَنْفَعُكَ لَمِتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْفِطْرَةِ»
19.4.614 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٦١٤ زِيَادٌ الْجَصَّاصُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ
[Machine] "I heard Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ saying, 'Verily, when Allah Almighty bestows a favor upon a servant, He loves to see its effect upon him.'"
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى إِذَا أَنْعَمَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ نِعْمَةً أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى عَلَيْهِ»
[Machine] "A man divorced but did not have any witnesses, then he returned but did not have any witnesses? So he said, 'How evil is what he did! He divorced in innovation and returned without following the sunnah, to have witnesses for what he did.'"
رَجُلٌ طَلَّقَ وَلَمْ يُشْهِدْ وَرَاجَعَ وَلَمْ يُشْهِدْ؟ فَقَالَ «بِئْسَمَا صَنَعَ طَلَّقَ فِي بِدْعَةٍ وَارْتَجَعَ فِي غَيْرِ سُنَّةٍ لِيُشْهِدْ عَلَى مَا فَعَلَ»
[Machine] About a man divorcing and not having witnesses and returning without witnesses, he said: "If he divorced without observing the waiting period and returned without observing the traditional practice, then he should have witnesses for his divorce and for his return, and seek forgiveness from Allah."
عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ وَلَمْ يُشْهِدْ وَرَاجَعَ وَلَمْ يُشْهِدْ قَالَ «طَلَّقَ فِي غَيْرِ عِدَّةٍ وَرَاجَعَ فِي غَيْرِ سُنَّةٍ فَلْيُشْهِدْ عَلَى طَلَاقِهِ وَعَلَى مُرَاجَعَتِهِ وَلْيَسْتَغْفِرِ اللهَ»
