[Machine] And that you listen to the Mu'adhin (caller to prayer) and do not say as he says.
[Machine] "O Abu Abdurrahman, I slept through the Fajr prayer until the sun rose." So Abdullah said to him, "Perform ablution as perfectly as you can, then pray as perfectly as you can." He saw that Abdullah did not understand what he meant by the greatness of what he had done. So he returned and said to him, "O Abu Abdurrahman, I slept through the Fajr prayer until the sun rose." Abdullah took his finger and squeezed it, then said, "It was only said to you to make you understand: Perform ablution as perfectly as you can, then pray as perfectly as you can."
[Machine] "Does everyone have two garments? He prays in one garment."
[Machine] Ibn Masood and Aisha used to volunteer to travel before and after prayers.
[Machine] "Do not be amazed at the people between your house and the house of Abu Musa who claim that they are in seclusion." He said, "Perhaps they have succeeded and you have made a mistake."
[Machine] "Do not be surprised by the people between your house and the house of Abu Musa who claim that they are in seclusion," Ibn Mas'ood said. "Perhaps they have succeeded and you have failed, or they have remembered and you have forgotten." He said, "As for me, I have learned that seclusion is only in the congregational mosque."
[Machine] "Do you not marvel at the people who stay between your house and the house of Al-Ash'ari?" Abdullah said, "Perhaps they have succeeded while you have failed." Hudhaifah said, "I do not mind whether I stay here or in your market. Indeed, seclusion is only in these three mosques: Al-Haram Mosque, Al-Madinah Mosque, and Al-Aqsa Mosque." And those who seclude themselves, Hudhaifah criticized them in the grand mosque of Kufah."
[Machine] Hudhaifah said to Abdullah, "There are people between your house and the house of Abu Musa who engage in 'Ukuf (praying all night). Don't you stop them?" Abdullah replied, "Perhaps they have done good while I have made errors, they have memorized while I have forgotten." Hudhaifah then said, "There is no 'Itikaf except in these three mosques, the mosque of Madinah, the mosque of Makkah, and the mosque of Illyas."
[Machine] A man secluded himself in a tent. People threw stones at him. So the man sent a message to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, and Abdullah came and he expelled the people and that pleased him.
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud used to make nine takbirs for both Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, starting by making four takbirs, then reciting Quran, then making one takbir and performing the bowing position (Ruk'u), then standing back up for the second unit of prayer and starting by reciting Quran, then making four takbirs and performing the bowing position with one of them.
[Machine] This is the Muslims' holiday, so how is the prayer performed? They said, "Ask Abu Abdurrahman." He asked him, and he said, "He stands up and says Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) four times. Then he recites the Opening Chapter of the Book (Al-Fatiha) and a chapter from the detailed (verses). Then he says Allahu Akbar and bows, and that is five (times). Then he stands and recites the Opening Chapter of the Book and a chapter from the detailed (verses). Then he says Allahu Akbar four times and bows at the end, and that is nine (times) in the two holidays." So none of them objected.
[Machine] Al-Walid: Indeed, the Eid has arrived, so what should I do?
Ibn Mas'ud said, "You should say 'Allahu Akbar', praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Then, you should supplicate to Allah. After that, repeat 'Allahu Akbar', praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Then, repeat 'Allahu Akbar', praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Then, supplicate to Allah. After that, repeat 'Allahu Akbar', praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Then, supplicate. Then, perform Takbir and recite Surah Al-Fatiha and another Surah. Then, perform another Takbir, bow down, and prostrate. Then, stand up and recite Surah Al-Fatiha and another Surah. Then, perform another Takbir, praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Supplicate. Then, perform another Takbir, praise Allah, and send blessings upon the Prophet. Bow down and prostrate."
[Machine] Regarding takbir in the prayers of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, he made this one say "ask him" and he made this one say "ask him" until Hudhayfah said to him, "ask him about 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud." So he asked him and Ibn Mas'ud said, "he says takbir four times, then recites, then says takbir, then he bows, then he says takbir again in the second raka'ah, then recites, then says takbir four times after the recitation."
[Machine] "Abdullah ibn Mas'ud used to make takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) nine times before the prayer on both Eids, before the recitation. Then he would make takbir and go into the bowing position, and in the second unit of prayer, he would recite. When he finished, he would make takbir four times and then bow."
[Machine] "He used to say Takbeer nine times during Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. He would stand up and say Takbeer four times, then he would recite, and then he would say Takbeer once and bow down. Then he would rise and recite and say Takbeer four times, and he would bow down with one Takbeer."
[Machine] Indeed, he used to say the takbeer (saying "Allahu Akbar") five times in the first (rak'ah) during the prayer and in the second (rak'ah) four times.
[Machine] Al-Ash'ari said to Abdullah, "Ask him, as he is the most knowledgeable and oldest among us." So he asked him and he said, "You start with four (Takbirs) and end with four (Takbirs). Then you make one Takbir, then add three more Takbirs, then raise your hands and bow. When you raise your head from the prostration, you recite (a verse from the Quran) and then make four Takbirs, then bow."
[Machine] The translation of the provided passage in English is: "Takbeer on both Eids is performed as four (continuous) phrases, just like offering the funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) for the deceased."
[Machine] "Indeed, between every two Takbirs there is the significance of a word."
[Machine] They sat down, those who they could see, and prayed before the Imam's departure on Eid.
[Machine] "About the prayer on the day of Eid before the Imam's departure."
[Machine] Ibn Mas'ud used to not pray before it and pray four Rak'ahs after it.
[Machine] Ibn Mas'ud used to pray four or eight rak'ahs after it, and he would not pray before it.
[Machine] Ibn Mas'ud used to pray four (rak'ahs) after the two Eids.
[Machine] It means "He used to pray four units after the two Eids".
[Machine] "Abdullah ibn Mas'ood said, 'Whoever misses the Eid prayer should pray four units.'"
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ood said, "Whoever misses the Eid prayer should pray four units (rak'ahs)."
[Machine] "That he used to make takbeer (proclaiming the greatness of God) from the Fajr (dawn) prayer on the day of Arafah until the Asr (afternoon) prayer on the day of Sacrifice."
[Machine] "A portion of wheat or a measure of dates or barley."
[Machine] I bathed with Ibn Mas'ud on the day of Arafah under the palm trees.
[Machine] Abdullah used to say, "The Takbeer (saying 'Allahu Akbar') is to be said during the days of Tashriq, after the Fajr prayer of the Day of Arafa until after the Asr prayer of the Day of Sacrifice."
[Machine] He used to raise his voice in the morning prayer, starting from the day of Arafah, and he would skip the afternoon prayer on the day of Sacrifice. He would say, "Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no deity except Allah. Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. All praise and thanks are due to Allah."
[Machine] Abdullah said, "If I had read it, then hasten as I did until my garment fell off, and he used to read it, so go."
[Machine] In the words of Ibn Mas'ood, "Proceed to the remembrance of Allah, which is like His saying: 'Indeed, your efforts are diverse.'”
فِي حَرْفِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَامْضُوا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ وَهِي كَقَوْلِهِ {إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى}
[Machine] He asked Ubayy ibn Ka'b and the Prophet ﷺ was giving a sermon about a verse from the Book of Allah, but Ubayy turned away from him and did not respond to him. When he finished his prayer, he said, "You did not pay attention." So he asked Ibn Mas'ood, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "Ubayy was truthful."
[Machine] His name is Abdullah, the one you asked about your share of Friday.
[Machine] To say to your friend, "Be quiet when the Imam starts the Friday prayer."
[Machine] "I prayed alone and my burden eased, and Friday came upon us. So I asked Ibrahim, and he said, 'Abdullah did the same with Alqamah and Aswad.' Sufyan said, 'Perhaps I did the same with A'mash.'"
[Machine] Whoever catches one unit of the Friday prayer, let him add another to it, and whoever misses the two units, then let him pray four units.
[Machine] "Whoever catches the (Friday) congregational prayer has indeed caught the (reward of) Friday, and whoever misses the (Friday) congregational prayer should pray four (rak'ahs)."
[Machine] "Whoever catches up with the two units of prayer or one of them has indeed caught up with the Friday prayer, and whoever misses the two units of prayer, then they should pray four units." He said, "Yes."
[Machine] "Whoever catches the sermon, then Friday prayer is two units of prayer (rak'at). And whoever does not catch it, then they should pray four units (rak'at). And whoever does not catch the unit of prayer (rak'ah), they should not rely on prostration until they catch the unit of prayer (rak'ah)."
