"عن أبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ: تَعَلَّمُوا الصَّمْتَ كمَا يُتَعَلَّمُ الْكَلَامُ، فَإِنَّ الصَّمْتَ حِلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ وَكُنْ إِلَي أَنْ تَسْمَعَ أَحْرص مِنْكَ إِلَي أَنْ تَتَكَلَّمَ، وَلَا تَتَكَلَّمْ في شَيْءٍ لَا يَعْنِيكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِضْحَاكًا مِنْ غَيْرِ عُجْبٍ، وَلَا مَشَّاءً إِلَي غَيْرِ أَرَبٍ".
