"عن ابنِ عُمَر أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ بنَ أُمَيَّةَ بنِ خَلَفٍ غُرِّبَ في الخمرِ إلى خَيْبَرَ فَلَحِقَ بِهِرقل فَتَنَصَّرَ، فقَالَ عُمَرُ: لَا أُغَرِّبُ مُسْلِمًا بَعدَه أَبدًا".

"عن ابن المُسَيَّب قال: غَرَّب عُمَرُ رَبيِعةَ بنَ أُمَيَّةَ بنِ خَلَفٍ رَجُلًا في الشَّرَابِ إلى خَيْبَرَ، فَلَحِقَ بِهِرَقل (*) فَتَنَصَّرَ قَالَ عُمَرُ: (* *) (لا أغرب) بعده مسلما أبدًا".
