"عن عبدِ الرحمنِ بنِ أَبى لَيْلى قَال: رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بنَ الخطَّابِ بَالَ قَائِمًا، ثم دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الخُفَّيْن، فَكَأنِّى أَنظُر إلَى أثَرِ أصَابِعِهِ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ خُطوطًا".
