"عن عزرة أن أهل الشام قالوا لعمر: إن أفضل أموالنا الخيلُ والرقيق، فأخذهم عمر لكل فرس عشرة، ولكل رأس عشرة، ثم رزقهم فكان يعطيهم أكثر مما أخذ منهم".
