"عن شهرِ بنِ حوشبٍ قالَ: قالَ عمرُ بنُ الخطابِ: لو أدركتُ أَبَا عبيدةَ فاستخلفْتُهُ، فسألِنى عنهُ ربِّى لقلتُ: سمعتُ نبيكَ يقولُ: هو أمينُ هذِه الأمةِ".
