"عَنْ عمرو بن أوس الثقفى أنه سمعَ عمرَ بن الخطابِ يقول: لو استطعت أن أجعلَ عدَّة الأمة حيضةً ونصفًا لفعلتُ، فقال رجل: فاجْعلها شهرًا وَنِصْفا، فسكت عمرُ".
