"عن المهاجر بن أبى أمية قال: كتب إلَىَّ أَبو بكر الصديق: أَن ابْعَثْ إِلَىَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ مَكْشُوحٍ فِى وَثَاقٍ فَأُحلِّفَهُ خَمْسِينَ يَمِينًا عِنْدَ مِنْبَرِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ مَا قَتَلَ دَاوُدِىَّ".
