"عن عُرْوةَ قال: حَرَّق خالدُ بنُ الوليدِ ناسًا من أهل الرِّدَّة، فقال عمر لأبى بكر: أَتَدَعُ هذا الَّذِى يُعذَّب بعذابِ الله؟ ! فقال أبو بكر: لا أَشِيم سيفًا سلَّه الله عَلَى المُشْرِكين".
