"Jibril, peace be upon him, came to the Prophet ﷺ when the sun had passed its zenith and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray Zuhr when the sun has passed its zenith.' Then he waited until a man's shadow was equal to his height. Then he came to him for 'Asr and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray 'Asr.' Then he waited until the sunset, then he came to him and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray Maghrib.' So he got up and prayed it when the sun had set. Then he waited until the twilight disappeared, then he came to him and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray 'Isha'.' So he got up and prayed it. Then he came to him when dawn broke and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he got up and prayed Subh.' So he got up and prayed Subh. Then he came to him the next day when a man's shadow was equal to his height, and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed Zuhr. Then Jibril came to him when a man's shadow was equal to twice his length and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed 'Asr. Then he came to him for Maghrib when the sun set, at exactly the same time as the day before, and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed Maghrib. Then he came to him for 'Isha' when the first third of the night had passed, and said: 'Get up and pray.' So he prayed 'Isha'. Then he came to him for Subh when it had become very bright, and said: 'Get up and pray.' So he prayed Subh. Then he said: 'The times of prayer one between those two (limits).'"  

جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الظُّهْرَ حِينَ مَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فَىْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ جَاءَهُ لِلْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَامَ فَصَلاَّهَا حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ سَوَاءً ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا ذَهَبَ الشَّفَقُ جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ فَقَامَ فَصَلاَّهَا ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ سَطَعَ الْفَجْرُ فِي الصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ حِينَ كَانَ فَىْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ حِينَ كَانَ فَىْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْمَغْرِبِ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَقْتًا وَاحِدًا لَمْ يَزُلْ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْعِشَاءِ حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الأَوَّلُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلصُّبْحِ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ جِدًّا فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ فَقَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ كُلُّهُ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said that Angel Gabriel came to him and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed the noon prayer when the sun had passed (its zenith). Then Angel Gabriel came to him again and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed the afternoon prayer when the shadow of everything was like it. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the sunset prayer and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed when the sun had set. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the night prayer and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed when the twilight had disappeared. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the dawn prayer and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed when the dawn appeared or when the dawn shone brightly. Then Angel Gabriel came to him from the morning to the noon and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed the noon prayer when the shadow of everything was like it. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the afternoon prayer and said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed the afternoon prayer when the shadow of everything was like it. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the sunset prayer at the same time and did not leave him. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the night prayer when half of the night had passed or when two-thirds of the night had passed. So he prayed the night prayer. Then Angel Gabriel came to him for the dawn prayer when it was bright. He said, "Stand and pray." So he prayed the dawn prayer. Then he said, "There is a time between these two (dawn and sunrise).  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَاءَهُ جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْعَصْرَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ حِينَ صَارَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَهُ أَوْ قَالَ صَارَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى حِينَ وَجَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْعِشَاءَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْفَجْرَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى حِينَ بَرَقَ الْفَجْرُ أَوْ قَالَ حِينَ سَطَعَ الْفَجْرُثُمَّ جَاءَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ لِلظُّهْرِ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ حِينَ صَارَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ حِينَ صَارَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَيْهِ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْمَغْرِبِ وَقْتًا وَاحِدًا لَمْ يَزُلْ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ لِلْعِشَاءِ حِينَ ذَهَبَ نِصْفُ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ قَالَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْفَجْرِ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ جِدًّا فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّهْ فَصَلَّى الْفَجْرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ  

[Machine] Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari or Bashir ibn Abi Mas'ud narrated that both of them said that they accompanied the Prophet ﷺ and that Jibril (Gabriel) came to the Prophet ﷺ after the sun had set. Jibril said, "O Muhammad, perform the Dhuhr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the shadow of everything was equal to its height and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Asr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the sun had disappeared and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Maghrib prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the red twilight vanished and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Isha prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the dawn broke and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Fajr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him the next day when the shadow of everything was similar to its previous day's length and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Dhuhr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the Dhuhr prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the shadow of everything was similar to its length the previous day and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Asr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the Asr prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the sun had set at a particular time and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Maghrib prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when a portion of the night had passed and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Isha prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the Isha prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when it was dawn and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Fajr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril said, "There is a time period between these two (Fajr and sunrise)."  

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَوْ بَشِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ كِلَاهُمَا قَدْ صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الْعَصْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ الْأَحْمَرُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ انْشَقَّ الْفَجْرُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الصُّبْحَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْغَدَ وَظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلُهُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الْعَصْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَقْتٌ وَاحِدٌ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ ذَهَبَ سَاعَةٌ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ قُمْ فَصَلِّ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ صَلِّ الصُّبْحَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ»  

[Machine] Jibril ﷺ came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Stand up and pray. This is before the sun sets." So the Prophet ﷺ stood up and prayed four units of Dhuhr (noon) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him when his shadow was the same length as it was before and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed four units of Asr (afternoon) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him when the sun had set and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed three units of Maghrib (evening) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him when twilight had disappeared and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed four units of Isha (night) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him before dawn broke and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed two units of Fajr (dawn) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him at noon the next day when his shadow was the same length as it was before and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed four units of Dhuhr (noon) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him when his shadow was the same length as it was before and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed four units of Asr (afternoon) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him at the first time when the sun had set and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed three units of Maghrib (evening) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him after twilight had disappeared and it became dark and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed four units of Isha (night) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ came to him after dawn had broken and it became bright and said, "Stand up and pray." So the Prophet ﷺ prayed two units of Fajr (dawn) prayer. Then Jibril ﷺ said to him, "Between these (prayer) times there is a prayer."  

أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ وَذَاكَ لَزَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ حِينَ قَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ بَزَقَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْفَجْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ الظُّهْرَ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْوَقْتَ الْأَوَّلَ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بَعْدَ أنْ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ وَأَظْلَمَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بَعْدَ أنْ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ وأَسْفَرَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ ﷺ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ

جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ مَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ حِينَ مَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ جَاءَهُ لِلْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّاهَا حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ سَوَاءً ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى إِذَا غَابَ الشَّفَقُ جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّاهَا ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ سَطَعَ الْفَجْرُ بِالصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ حِينَ كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْمَغْرِبِ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَقْتًا وَاحِدًا لَمْ يَزَلْ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلْعِشَاءِ حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ لِلصُّبْحِ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ جِدًّا فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ كُلُّهُ»  

[Machine] Jibril ﷺ came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Arise and pray, for this is the time when the sun declines." So he got up and prayed four units of Duhr prayer. Then Jibril came to him when his shadow was equal to his height and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed four units of Asr prayer. Then Jibril came to him when the sun had set and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed three units of Maghrib prayer. Then Jibril came to him when the twilight had faded and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed four units of Isha prayer. Then Jibril came to him when the dawn began to break and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed two units of Fajr prayer. Then he came to him on the following day at Dhuhr time when the shadow of everything was equal to its height and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed four units of Duhr prayer. Then Jibril came to him when his shadow was equal to his height and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed four units of Asr prayer. Then he came to him at the previous day's Maghrib time when the sun had set and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed three units of Maghrib prayer. Then he came to him after the twilight had faded and it was dark and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed four units of Isha prayer. Then he came to him when the dawn was approaching and said, "Arise and pray." So he prayed two units of Fajr prayer. Then he said, "There is a prayer that Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm did not hear from Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari, but it has been conveyed to him. It has also been narrated in another Mursal Hadith."  

أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ وَذَلِكَ دُلُوكَ الشَّمْسِ حِينَ مَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ بَرَقَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ فِي الظُّهْرِ حِينَ صَارَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ صَارَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الْوَقْتَ بِالْأَمْسِ حِينَ غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بَعْدَ أَنْ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ وَأَظْلَمَ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ بَلَاغٌ بَلَغَهُ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ ذَلِكَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ مُرْسَلٍ  

"Jibril, peace be upon him, came to the Prophet ﷺ when the sun had passed its zenith and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray Zuhr when the sun has passed its zenith.' Then he waited until a man's shadow was equal to his height. Then he came to him for 'Asr and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray 'Asr.' Then he waited until the sunset, then he came to him and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray Maghrib.' So he got up and prayed it when the sun had set. Then he waited until the twilight disappeared, then he came to him and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray 'Isha'.' So he got up and prayed it. Then he came to him when dawn broke and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he got up and prayed Subh.' So he got up and prayed Subh. Then he came to him the next day when a man's shadow was equal to his height, and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed Zuhr. Then Jibril came to him when a man's shadow was equal to twice his length and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed 'Asr. Then he came to him for Maghrib when the sun set, at exactly the same time as the day before, and said: 'Get up, O Muhammad, and pray.' So he prayed Maghrib. Then he came to him for 'Isha' when the first third of the night had passed, and said: 'Get up and pray.' So he prayed 'Isha'. Then he came to him for Subh when it had become very bright, and said: 'Get up and pray.' So he prayed Subh. Then he said: 'The times of prayer one between those two (limits).'" جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ فَجَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الْعَصْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّاهَا حِينَ غَابَتْ سَوَاءً ثُمَّ مَكَثَ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ الشَّفَقُ فَجَاءَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّاهَا ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ سَطَعَ الْفَجْرُ لِلصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ حِينَ كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ كَانَ فَيْءُ الرَّجُلِ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَصَلِّ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْمَغْرِبُ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَقْتًا وَاحِدًا لَمْ يَزَلْ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْعِشَاءُ حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلُ فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الصُّبْحُ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ جِدًّا فَقَالَ قُمْ فَصَلِّ الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ كُلُّهُ وَقْتٌ وَبِمَعْنَاهُ  

"أتانى جبريلُ حين زاغت الشمسُ فقال: قُم فصلِّ، فصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، ثم جاء حين كان ظِلُّ كُلِّ شئٍ مِثْلَهُ، فقال: قُم فصلَّ، فصلَّى بى العصرَ، ثم جاء حين غابت الشمسُ ودخل الليلُ فقال: قم فَصَلَّ، فصلَّى المغربَ، ثم جاء حين كتاب الشفقُ، فقال: قم فصل، فصَّلى العشاءَ، ثم جاء حين أضاء الفجرُ فقال: قم فصل، فصلى الفجرَ، ثم جاء الغدَ حين كان ظل كل شئ مثله فقال، قم فصل فصلى الظهر، ثم جاء حين كان ظل كل شئ مثليه فقال: قم فصل، فصلى العصر، ثم جاء حين غابت الشمسُ ودخل الليل فقال قم فصل، فصلى المغرب، ثم جاء حين ذهب ثلثُ الليل، فقال: قمْ فصَلَّ، فصلَّى العِشاءَ، ثم جاء حين أسْفَرَ فقال: قم فصلَّ. فصَلَّى الفجرَ، ثم قال له: هذه صلاة النبِّيين قَبْلكَ فالزم".  

"أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ حِينَ زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، (فَصَلَّى الظُّهْر)، ثُمَّ جَاءَ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّ كُل شَىْءٍ مِثْلُه فَقَالَ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَدَخَلَ اللَّيْلُ فَقَالَ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلِّى الْمَغْرِبَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ فَقَالَ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلِّى الْعِشَاءَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ أَضَاءَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْفَجْرَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الْغَد حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مِثْلُه فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حينَ كَانَ ظِلُّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مِثْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَدَخَلَ اللَّيْلُ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ حِينَ أَسْفَرَ فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُمْ فَصَلِّ، فَصَلَّى الْفَجرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ: هَذِهِ صَلَاةُ النَّبِيِّينَ قَبْلَكَ فَالْزَمْ".
