٥٨۔ كِتَابُ التَّارِيخِ ص ١٢
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ عَرْضِ النَّاسِ صَدَقَةَ الْأَمْوَالِ عَلَى النَّاسِ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ وَعَدَمِ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا مِنْهُمْ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Hour will not be established until wealth increases among you, pouring abundantly until the owner of the money is confused about who will accept his charity, and until he presents it to someone who refuses it, saying, 'I have no need for it.'"
عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَكْثُرَ فِيكُمُ الْأَمْوَالُ وَتَفِيضَ حَتَّى يُهِمَّ رَبَّ الْمَالِ مَنْ يَقْبَلُ مِنْهُ صَدَقَتَهُ وَحَتَّى يَعْرِضَهُ وَيَقُولُ الَّذِي يُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ لَا أَرَبَ لِي فِيهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «صَدَقَتَهُ» أَرَادَ بِهِ الصَّدَقَةَ الْفَرِيضَةَ دُونَ التَّطَوُّعِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The Hour will not come until wealth increases and overflows to the point where a person gives out their Zakat (obligatory charity) and finds no one to accept it from them."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْمَالُ وَيَفِيضَ حَتَّى يُخْرِجَ الرَّجُلُ زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ فَلَا يَجِدُ أَحَدًا يَقْبَلُهَا مِنْهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ الْوَقْتِ الَّذِي يَكُونُ فِيهِ مَا وَصَفْنَا مِنْ سَعَةِ الْأَمْوَالِ
"We were in the company of Jabir b. 'Abdullah that he said it may happen that the people of Iraq may not send their qafiz and dirhams (their measures of food stuff and their money). We said: Who would be responsible for it? He said: The non-Arabs would prevent them. He again said: There is the possibility that the people of Syria may not send their dinars and mudds. We said: Who would be responsible for it? He said this prevention would be made by the Romans. He (Jabir b. Abdullah) kept quiet for a while and then reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ having said there would be a caliph in the last (period) of my Ummah who would freely give handfuls of wealth to the people without counting it. I said to Abu Nadra and Abu al-'Ala: Do you mean 'Umar b. 'Abd al-Aziz? They said: No (he would be Imam Mahdi). (Using translation from Muslim 2913a)
أَنْ لَا يُجْبَى إِلَيْهِمْ قَفِيزٌ وَلَا دِرْهَمٌ قُلْنَا مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْعَجَمِ يَمْنَعُونَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ يُوشِكُ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ أَنْ لَا يُجْبَى إِلَيْهِمْ دِينَارٌ وَلَا مُدْيٌ قُلْنَا مِنْ أَيٍّ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ مِنْ قِبَلِ الرُّومِ؟ ثُمَّ أُسْكِتَ هُنَيَّةً ثُمَّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَكُونُ فِي آخِرِ أُمَّتِي خَلِيفَةٌ يَحْثِي الْمَالَ حَثْيًا لَا يَعُدُّهُ عَدًّا»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ بَعْضِ سَعَةِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Have you made cushions ? I said: How can we afford cushions ? He said: Soon you will have cushions. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4145)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا جَابِرُ أَنَكَحْتَ»؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَتَّخَذْتُمْ أَنْمَاطًا؟ » قُلْتُ أَنَّى لَنَا أَنْمَاطٌ؟ قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ الْبَعْضِ الْآخَرِ مِنْ سَعَةِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ
[Machine] "When the man arrived in the city, he would have a guide with him, meaning a local who would host him. If he did not have a guide, he would stay at a hostel called As-Suffah. He said, 'I stayed at As-Suffah and accompanied a man who would bring us a basket of dates every day from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The dates were enough for two men, and we had nothing to eat except for dates and bread made from barley flour.' So, we went to our brothers from the Ansar, and their main food was dates. They shared their dates with us. I stood up and went to the pulpit and praised and thanked Allah. Then, I mentioned what I encountered among his people. I said, 'We stayed, my companion and I, for about fourteen days with nothing to eat except for dates and barley bread. We came to our brothers from the Ansar, and their main food was dates. They shared their dates with us. By Allah, if I had found bread and meat for you, I would have fed you. However, you may be in a time where you find something similar to the As-Shatair (the clothing of the Kaaba) to wear and a meal to eat.'
كَانَ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَكَانَ لَهُ بِهَا يَعْنِي عَرِيفٌ نَزَلَ عَلَى عَرِيفِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بِهَا عَرِيفٌ نَزَلَ الصُّفَّةَ قَالَ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ نَزَلَ الصُّفَّةَ قَالَ فَرَافَقْتُ رَجُلًا فَكَانَ يُجْرَى عَلَيْنَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مُدٌّ مِنْ تَمْرٍ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ فَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَنَادَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ أَحْرَقَ التَّمْرُ بُطُونَنَا قَالَ فَمَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى مِنْبَرِهِ فَصَعِدَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مَا لَقِيَ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ قَالَ حَتَّى مَكَثْتُ أَنَا وَصَاحِبِي بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْمًا مَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْبَرِيرُ وَالْبَرِيرُ ثَمَرُ الْأَرَاكِ فَقَدِمْنَا عَلَى إِخْوَانِنَا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَعُظْمُ طَعَامِهِمُ التَّمْرُ فَوَاسَوْنَا فِيهِ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ أَجِدُ لَكُمُ الْخُبْزَ وَاللَّحْمَ لَأَطْعَمْتُكُمُوهُ وَلَكِنْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُدْرِكُونَ زَمَانًا أَوْ مَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ مِنْكُمْ يَلْبَسُونَ فِيهِ مِثْلَ أَسْتَارِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَيُغْدَى عَلَيْهِمْ وَيُرَاحُ بِالْجِفَانِ «
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ فَتْحَ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِنَّمَا يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ بِعَقِبِ جَدَبٍ يَلْحَقُهُمْ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode on a donkey and asked me to join him on the back. Then he said, "O Abu Dharr, what do you think if the people suffer from severe hunger to the extent that they cannot go from their beds to their mosques, what would you do?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Fast." He then asked, "O Abu Dharr, what do you think if the people face a severe epidemic to the point that houses would be filled with dead bodies, what would you do?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Be patient." He then asked, "O Abu Dharr, what do you think if people start killing one another and blood flows in the streets, what would you do?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Stay in your house and close your door." I asked, "What if I am not allowed to do so?" He replied, "Join those who are like you." I asked, "Should I take my weapon with me?" He said, "If you fear that the sword might intimidate you, then cover your face with your robe, for that would deter both you and their aggression."
رَكِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِمَارًا وَأَرْدَفَنِي خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ جُوعٌ شَدِيدٌ حَتَّى لَا تَسْتَطِيعَ أَنْ تَقُومَ مِنْ فِرَاشِكَ إِلَى مَسْجِدِكَ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ»؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «تَعَفَّفْ» قَالَ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مَوْتٌ شَدِيدٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْبَيْتُ بِالْعَبْدِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ » اصْبِرْ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قَتَلَ النَّاسُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا حَتَّى تَغْرَقَ حِجَارَةُ الزَّيْتِ مَوْضِعٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مِنَ الدِّمَاءِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ «؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ » اقْعُدْ فِي بَيْتِكَ وَأَغْلِقْ عَلَيْكَ بَابَكَ « قَالَ » أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَمْ أُتْرَكْ «؟ قَالَ » فَائْتِ مَنْ أَنْتَ مِنْهُ فَكُنْ فِيهِمْ « قَالَ فَآخُذُ سِلَاحِي؟ قَالَ » إِذًا تُشَارِكُهُمْ فِيهِ وَلَكِنْ إِنْ خَشِيتَ أَنْ يَرُوعَكَ شُعَاعُ السَّيْفِ فَأَلْقِ طَرَفَ رِدَائِكَ عَلَى وَجْهِكَ يَبُوءُ بِإِثْمِكَ وَإِثْمِهِ «
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ أَدَاءِ الْعَجَمِ الْجِزْيَةَ إِلَى الْعَرَبِ
[Machine] Abu Talib fell ill, so the Quraysh came to visit him and the Prophet ﷺ went to see him. There was a man sitting by his headrest, so Abu Jahl got up and sat in it. They complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about Abu Talib, saying, "Your nephew speaks ill of our idols." Abu Talib asked, "What is the matter with your people? Why are they complaining about you, my nephew?" He said, "O uncle, all I wanted from them was one word that would make the Arabs obey them and the foreigners pay tribute to them." Abu Talib asked, "And what is that word?" He replied, "There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah." They then said, "Shall we make all the idols into one god?" He replied, and the verse of the Qur'an was revealed: "Saw and the Quran, full of mention. Indeed, this is a wonderous thing."
مَرِضَ أَبُو طَالِبٍ فَأَتَتْهُ قُرَيْشٌ وَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَعُودُهُ وَعِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ مَقْعَدُ رَجُلٍ فَقَامَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ فَقَعَدَ فِيهِ فَشَكَوْا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ ابْنَ أَخِيكَ يَقَعُ فِي آلِهَتِنَا قَالَ مَا شَأْنُ قَوْمِكَ يَشْكُونَكَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي؟ قَالَ «يَا عَمِّ إِنَّمَا أَرَدْتُهُمْ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ تَدِينُ لَهُمْ بِهَا الْعَرَبُ وَتُؤَدِّي إِلَيْهِمْ بِهَا الْعَجَمُ الْجِزْيَةَ» فَقَالَ وَمَا هِيَ؟ قَالَ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ» فَقَامُوا فَقَالُوا أَجْعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَهًا وَاحِدًا؟ قَالَ وَنَزَلَتْ {ص وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ}
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ فَتْحِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا كُنُوزَ آلِ كِسْرَى عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "A group of Muslims will conquer the treasure of the white palace of the Persians."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيَفْتَحَنَّ كَنْزَ آلِ كِسْرَى الْأَبْيَضَ أَوْ قَالَ فِي الْأَبْيَضِ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا تَكُونُ أَحْوَالُ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ فَتْحِ خَزَائِنِ فَارِسَ عَلَيْهِمْ
“When the treasures of Persia and Rome are opened for you, what kind of people will you be?” ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf said: “We will say what Allah has commanded us to say.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Or something other than that. You will compete with one another, then you will envy one another, then you will turn your backs on one another, then you will hate one another, or something like that. Then you will go to the poor among the Muhajirun and appoint some of them as leaders of others.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3996)
عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا فُتِحَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ خَزَائِنُ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومِ أَيُّ قَوْمٍ أَنْتُمْ»؟ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ نَكُونُ كَمَا أَمَرَنَا اللَّهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَتَنَافَسُونَ ثُمَّ تَتَحَاسَدُونَ ثُمَّ تَتَدَابَرُونَ ثُمَّ تَتَبَاغَضُونَ ثُمَّ تَنْطَلِقُونَ إِلَى مَسَاكِينِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ فَتَحْمِلُونَ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَى رِقَابِ بَعْضٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ بِأَنَّ كِسْرَى إِذَا هَلَكَ يَهْلَكُ مُلْكُهُ بِهِ إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Khosrau is ruined, there will be no Khosrau after him; and when Caesar is ruined, there will be no Caesar after him. By Him in Whose Hands my life is, you will spend their treasures in Allah's Cause." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3120)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا هَلَكَ كِسْرَى فَلَا كِسْرَى بَعْدَهُ وَإِذَا هَلَكَ قَيْصَرُ فَلَا قَيْصَرُ بَعْدَهُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ
"When Kisra is ruined, there will be no Kisra after him, and when Caesar is ruined, there will be no Caesar after him. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! You shall spend their treasures in Allah's cause." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2216)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا هَلَكَ كِسْرَى فَلَا كِسْرَى بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا وَإِذَا هَلَكَ قَيْصَرُ فَلَا قَيْصَرُ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا وَأَيْمُ اللَّهِ لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ حَسْرِ الْفُرَاتِ عَنْ كَنْزِ الذَّهَبِ الَّذِي يَقْتَتِلُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A time will come upon you when the Euphrates river will recede and a mountain of gold will appear. People will fight over it, and for every hundred, ninety-nine will be killed." He said, "O my son, if you live to see that, do not be among those who fight for it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَيَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ يَحْسُرُ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَيَقْتَتِلُ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَيُقْتَلُ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ» قَالَ «يَا بُنَيَّ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِمَّنْ يُقَاتِلُ عَلَيْهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ
“The Hour will not begin until the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold and people fight over it, and out of every ten, nine will be killed.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4046)
عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَحْسُرَ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَيَقْتَتِلُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُقْتَلُ مِنْ كُلِّ عَشْرَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ»
ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ أَخْذِ الْمَرْءِ مِنْ كَنْزِ الذَّهَبِ الَّذِي يُحْسَرُ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْهُ
The Euphrates is soon to uncover a treasure of gold, but those who are present must not take any of it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4313)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ أَنْ يَحْسُرَ عَنْ كَنْزٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَمَنْ حَضَرَهُ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَحْسُرَ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْ تَلٍّ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَيَقْتَتِلُ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَيُقْتَلُ تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارِهِمْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْقَوْمَ يَقْتَتِلُونَ عَلَى مَا وَصَفْنَا مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَتَمَكَّنُوا مِمَّا يَقْتَتِلُونَ عَلَيْهِ
" The earth will throw out pieces of its liver(in sides): liver; gold and silver will come out like columns." He said: "A thief will come and say: 'For this my hands were amputated?' A murderer will come and say: 'For this I killed?' One who severed ties of kinship will come and say: 'For this I severed the ties of kinship?' Then they will leave it without taking anything from it."' (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2208)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَقِيءُ الْأَرْضُ أَفْلَاذَ كَبِدِهَا أَمْثَالَ الْأُسْطُوَانِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ قَالَ فَيَجِيءُ السَّارِقُ فَيَقُولُ فِي هَذَا قُطِعْتُ وَيَجِيءُ الْقَاتِلُ فَيَقُولُ فِي هَذَا قُتِلْتُ وَيَجِيءُ الْقَاطِعُ فَيَقُولُ فِي هَذَا قَطَعْتُ رَحِمِي وَيَدَعُونَهُ لَا يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ أَمْنِ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ ظُهُورِ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي جَزَائِرِ الْعَرَبِ
We complained to Messenger of Allah ﷺ (about our state) while he was leaning against his sheet cloak in the shade of the Kaʿba. We said, "Will you ask Allah to help us? Will you invoke Allah for us?" He said, "Among those who were before you a (believer) used to be seized and, a pit used to be dug for him and then he used to be placed in it. Then a saw used to be brought and put on his head which would be split into two halves. His flesh might be combed with iron combs and removed from his bones, yet, all that did not cause him to revert from his religion. By Allah! This religion (Islam) will be completed (and triumph) till a rider (traveler) goes from Sanʿa' (the capital of Yemen) to Hadramout fearing nobody except Allah and the wolf lest it should trouble his sheep, but you are impatient." شَكَوْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُتَوَسِّدٌ بُرْدَةً لَهُ فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ فَقُلْنَا أَلَا تَسْتَنْصِرُ لَنَا أَلَا تَدْعُو لَنَا؟ فَقَالَ «قَدْ كَانَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ يُؤْخَذُ الرَّجُلُ فَيُحْفَرُ لَهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيُجْعَلُ فِيهَا فَيُؤْتَى بِالْمِنْشَارِ فَيُوضَعُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَيُجْعَلُ بِنِصْفَيْنِ وَيُمَشَّطُ بِأَمْشَاطِ الْحَدِيدِ فِيمَا دُونَ عَظْمِهِ وَلَحْمِهِ فَمَا يَصْرِفُهُ ذَلِكَ عَنْ دِينِهِ وَاللَّهِ لَيَتِمَّنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ حَتَّى يَسِيرَ الرَّاكِبُ مِنْ صَنْعَاءَ إِلَى حَضْرَمَوْتَ لَا يَخَافُ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَالذِّئْبَ عَلَى غَنَمِهِ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ إِظْهَارِ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامَ فِي أَرْضِ الْعَرَبِ وَجَزَائِرِهَا
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There will not remain on Earth a single house made of mud or bricks, nor a tent, except that Allah will enter Islam into it with honor or humiliation."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَبْقَى عَلَى الْأَرْضِ بَيْتُ مَدَرٍ وَلَا وَبَرٍ إِلَّا أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ الْإِسْلَامَ بِعِزِّ عَزِيزٍ أَوْ بِذُلِّ ذَلِيلٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ كَوْنِ الْعُمْرَانِ وَكَثْرَةِ الْأَنْهَارِ فِي أَرَاضِي الْعَرَبِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not come until there is much chaos and until the land of the Arabs returns to being pastures and rivers."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ وَحَتَّى تَعُودَ أَرْضُ الْعَرَبِ مُرُوجًا وَأَنْهَارًا»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمُرَادَ مِنْ هَذَا الْخَبَرِ إِدْخَالُ اللَّهِ كَلِمَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ بُيُوتَ الْمَدَرِ وَالْوَبَرِ لَا الْإِسْلَامَ كُلَّهُ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There will not remain on the face of the earth a single house made of mud or bricks, nor a tent, except that the word of Islam will enter it with honor of the noble or humility of the lowly."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَبْقَى عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ بَيْتُ مَدَرٍ وَلَا وَبَرٍ إِلَّا أَدْخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ بِعِزِّ عَزِيزٍ أَوْ بِذُلِّ ذَلِيلٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ سَنَنَ مَنْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ
[Machine] "He informed me that he heard Abu Waqid Al-Laythi saying, and he was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , that when the Messenger of Allah conquered Makkah, he took us with him towards Hawazin until we passed by the Sidrat al-Muntaha. This is a tree where the disbelievers used to gather and worship. We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, make for us a tree like they have a tree.' The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Allahu Akbar! Indeed, this is one of the traditions, just as the Children of Israel said to Musa, 'Make for us a god as they have gods.' Musa said, 'Verily, you are an ignorant people.' Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Indeed, you will follow the traditions of those before you.'"
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيَّ يَقُولُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَكَّةَ خَرَجَ بِنَا مَعَهُ قِبَلَ هَوَازِنَ حَتَّى مَرَرْنَا عَلَى سِدْرَةِ الْكُفَّارِ سِدْرَةٌ يَعْكِفُونَ حَوْلَهَا وَيَدْعُونَهَا ذَاتَ أَنْوَاطٍ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اجْعَلْ لَنَا ذَاتَ أَنْوَاطٍ كَمَا لَهُمْ ذَاتُ أَنْوَاطٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ إِنَّهَا السُّنَنُ هَذَا كَمَا قَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لِمُوسَى {اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ} ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ » إِنَّكُمْ لَتَرْكَبُنَّ سَنَنَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ «
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «سَنَنَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ» أَرَادَ بِهِ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابَيْنِ
The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will follow the wrong ways, of your predecessors so completely and literally that if they should go into the hole of a mastigure, you too will go there." We said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Do you mean the Jews and the Christians?" He replied, "Whom else?" (Meaning, of course, the Jews and the Christians.) (Using translation from Bukhārī 3456)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سَنَنَ الَّذِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ حَتَّى لَوْ سَلَكُوا جُحْرَ ضَبٍّ لَسَلَكْتُمُوهُ» قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَمَنْ؟ »
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وُقُوعِ الْفِتَنِ نَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ السَّلَامَةَ مِنْهَا
[Machine] Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hasten to perform good deeds before a time comes upon you like the dark night. During that time, a person will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or he will be a believer in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning. He will sell his religion for worldly gains."
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَادِرُوا بِالْأَعْمَالِ فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا وَيُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا وَيُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا يَبِيعُ دِينَهُ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْفِتَنَ الَّتِي ذَكَرْنَاهَا قَصَدَ الْعَرَبَ بِتَوَقُّعِهَا دُونَ غَيْرِهِمْ
[Machine] Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Woe to the Arabs from an approaching evil, a blind, deaf, and mute fitnah (trial) in which the one who sits is better than the one who stands, the one who stands is better than the one who walks, and the one who walks is better than the one who runs. Woe to the one who runs in it, for he will face punishment from Allah on the Day of Resurrection."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ «وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ مِنْ فِتْنَةٍ عَمْيَاءَ صَمَّاءَ بَكْمَاءَ الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ وَالْقَائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ السَّاعِي وَيْلٌ لِلسَّاعِي فِيهَا مِنَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ الْأَمَارَاتِ الَّتِي تَظْهَرُ قَبْلَ وُقُوعِ الْفِتَنِ
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, the hypocrisy would be exposed, trust would be lifted, mercy would be withdrawn, the trustworthy would be accused and the untrustworthy would be trusted. I have got you by the horns of honor." They asked, "And what are the horns of honor, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Tribulations like the dark hours of the night."
عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا يَظْهَرُ النِّفَاقُ وَتُرْفَعُ الْأَمَانَةُ وَتُقْبَضُ الرَّحْمَةُ وَيُتَّهَمُ الْأَمِينُ وَيُؤْتَمَنُ غَيْرُ الْأَمِينِ أَنَاخَ بِكُمُ الشُّرْفُ الْجُونُ» قَالُوا وَمَا الشُّرْفُ الْجُونُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «فِتَنٌ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ تَمَنِّي الْمُسْلِمِينَ حُلُولَ الْمَنَايَا بِهِمْ عِنْدَ وُقُوعِ الْفِتَنِ
The Last Hour would not come until a person would pass by a grave of another person and he would say: I wish it had been my abode. (Using translation from Muslim 157k)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَمُرَّ الرَّجُلُ بِقَبْرِ الرَّجُلِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي مَكَانَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ مُصَالَحَةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الرُّومَ
[Machine] "He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Make peace with the Romans so that you may conquer them from behind and gain victory, spoils, and retreat until you reach a marsh with reeds. Then a person from the Romans will say, "The cross has prevailed." And a person from the Muslims will say, "Rather, Allah has prevailed." So the Muslim will proceed to strike their cross, and the Romans will retaliate by beheading him. Then the Muslims will proceed towards their weapons and fight, and Allah will honor that group of Muslims with martyrdom. So the Romans will say to the leader of the Romans, "We have had enough of the Arabs." They will gather for battle, and they will come to you under eighty banners, with twelve thousand troops under each banner.'"
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «تُصَالِحُونَ الرُّومَ صُلْحًا آمِنًا حَتَّى تَغْزُوا أَنْتُمْ وَهُمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ فَتُنْصَرُونَ وَتَغْنَمُونَ وَتَنْصَرِفُونَ حَتَّى تَنْزِلُوا بِمَرْجٍ ذِي تُلُولٍ فَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الرُّومِ غَلَبَ الصَّلِيبُ وَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بَلِ اللَّهُ غَلَبَ فَيَثُورُ الْمُسْلِمُ إِلَى صَلِيبِهِمْ وَهُوَ مِنْهُ غَيْرُ بَعِيدٍ فَيَدُقُّهُ وَتَثُورُ الرُّومُ إِلَى كَاسِرِ صَلِيبِهِمْ فَيَضْرِبُونَ عُنُقَهُ وَيَثُورُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِلَى أَسْلِحَتِهِمْ فَيَقْتَتِلُونَ فَيُكْرِمُ اللَّهُ تِلْكَ الْعِصَابَةَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَتَقُولُ الرُّومُ لِصَاحِبِ الرُّومِ كَفَيْنَاكَ الْعَرَبَ فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ لِلْمَلْحَمَةِ فَيَأْتُونَكُمْ تَحْتَ ثَمَانِينَ غَايَةً تَحْتَ كُلِّ غَايَةٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ قَدْ يُوهِمُ بَعْضَ الْمُسْتَمِعِينَ أَنَّ حَسَّانَ بْنَ عَطِيَّةَ سَمِعَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ مِنْ مَكْحُولٍ
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "You will make a peaceful reconciliation with the Romans until you both fight a common enemy from behind them, and you will be victorious and take spoils of war until you descend upon a marsh. A man from the Romans will say, 'The cross has prevailed,' and a Muslim will say, 'Rather, Allah has prevailed,' and they will engage in combat. The Muslims will prevail, breaking their crosses and killing their leader. The Muslims will then retrieve their weapons and fight, and Allah will honor that group with martyrdom. They will then come to their king and say, 'We have sufficed you with the Arabian Peninsula,' and they will gather for battle. They will come together under eighty flags, with each flag comprising twelve thousand soldiers."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَتُصَالِحُونَ الرُّومَ صُلْحًا آمِنًا حَتَّى تَغْزُوا أَنْتُمْ وَهُمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ فَتُنْصَرُونَ وَتَسْلَمُونَ وَتَغْنَمُونَ حَتَّى تَنْزِلُوا بِمَرْجٍ فَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الرُّومِ غَلَبَ الصَّلِيبُ وَيَقُولُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بَلِ اللَّهُ غَلَبَ وَيَتَدَاوَلُونَهَا وَصَلِيبُهُمْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ غَيْرُ بَعِيدٍ فَيَثُورُ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَيَدُقُّهُ وَيَثُورُونَ إِلَى كَاسِرِ صَلِيبِهِمْ فَيَضْرِبُونَ عُنُقَهُ وَيَثُورُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِلَى أَسْلِحَتِهِمْ فَيَقْتَتِلُونَ فَيُكْرِمُ اللَّهُ تِلْكَ الْعِصَابَةَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ فَيَأْتُونَ مَلِكَهُمْ فَيَقُولُونَ كَفَيْنَاكَ جَزِيرَةَ الْعَرَبِ فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ لِلْمَلْحَمَةِ فَيَأْتُونَ تَحْتَ ثَمَانِينَ غَايَةً تَحْتَ كُلِّ غَايَةٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلَا يَنْزِعُ صِحَّةَ عُقُولِ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ وُقُوعِ الْفِتَنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be chaos before the Hour." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the chaos?" He said, "Killing." They said, "Will there be more killing than what we already do?" He said, "It is not your killing of the disbelievers, but it is you killing one another." They said, "What about our minds?" He said, "Verily, minds will be taken away from the people of that time."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ الْهَرْجُ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْهَرْجُ؟ قَالَ «الْقَتْلُ» قَالُوا أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا نَقْتُلُ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ قَتْلِكُمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَكِنْ قَتْلُ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًا» قَالَ وَمَعَنَا عُقُولُنَا؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَتُنْزَعُ عُقُولُ أَهْلِ ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا يَظْهَرُ فِي النَّاسِ مِنَ الشُّحِّ عِنْدَ وُقُوعِ الْفِتَنِ بِهِمْ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The time will become short, knowledge will be decreased, civil strife (fitan) will appear, niggardliness will be case into people's heart, and harj will be prevalent. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! what is it: He replied: Slaughter, slaughter. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4255)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَتَقَارَبُ الزَّمَانُ وَيَنْقُصُ الْعِلْمُ وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ وَيُلْقَى الشُّحُّ وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ» قَالُوا «وَمَا الْهَرْجُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ » الْقَتْلُ الْقَتْلُ «
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّنْ يَكُونُ هَلَاكُ أَكْثَرِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عَلَى أَيْدِيهِمْ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The destruction of my Ummah (nation) will be at the hands of foolish youth from the Quraysh."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلَاكُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى يَدَيْ غِلْمَانٍ سُفَهَاءَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ أَقْوَامٍ يَكُونُ فَسَادُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عَلَى أَيْدِيهِمْ
[Machine] My beloved, Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ , Al-Sadiq Al-Masdooq, narrated to me: "Verily, the corruption of my Ummah will be caused by foolish individuals from the Quraysh."
حَدَّثَنِي حَبِيبِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ الصَّادِقُ الْمَصْدُوقُ «إِنَّ فَسَادَ أُمَّتِي عَلَى يَدَيْ أُغَيْلِمَةٍ سُفَهَاءَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ حُدُوثَ وَقْعِ السَّيْفِ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَبْقَى إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Allah, the Exalted, folded for me the earth, or he said (the narrator is doubtful): My Lord folded for me the earth, so much so that I saw its easts and wests (i.e. the extremities). The kingdom of my community will reach as far as the earth was floded for me. The two treasures, the red and the white, were bestowed on me. I prayed to my Lord that He may not destroy my community by prevailing famine, and not give their control to an enemy who annihilates then en masse except from among themselves. My Lord said to me: Muhammad, If I make a decision, it is not withdrawn ; and I shall not destroy them by prevailing famine, and I shall not give their control to an enemy, except from among themselves, who exterminates them en masse, even if they are stormed from all sides of the earth ; only a section of them will destroy another section, and a section will captive another section. I am afraid about my community of those leaders who will lead astray. When the sword is used among my people, it will not be withdrawn from them till the Day of Resurrection, and the Last Hour will not come before the tribes of my people attach themselves to the polytheists and tribes of my people worship idols. There will be among my people thirty great liars each of them asserting that he is (Allah's) prophet, where as I am the seal of the Prophet s after whom (me) there will be no prophet ; and a section of my people will continue to hold to the truth - (according to the Ibn Isa's version: (will continue to dominate) - the agreed version goes: "and will not be injured by those who oppose them, till Allah's command comes." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4252)
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ زَوَى لِي الْأَرْضَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ مَشَارِقَهَا وَمَغَارِبَهَا وَأَعْطَانِي الْكَنْزَيْنِ الْأَحْمَرَ وَالْأَبْيَضَ وَإِنَّ مُلْكَ أُمَّتِي سَيَبْلُغُ مَا زُوِيَ لِي مِنْهَا وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَهُمْ بِسَنَةٍ عَامَّةٍ وَأَنْ لَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ فَيُهْلِكَهُمْ وَلَا يُلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَهُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي إِذَا أَعْطَيْتُ عَطَاءً فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُ إِنِّي أَعْطَيْتُكَ لِأُمَّتِكَ أَنْ لَا يُهْلَكُوا بِسَنَةٍ عَامَّةٍ وَأَنْ لَا أُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ فَيَسْتَبِيحَهُمْ وَلَكِنْ أُلْبِسُهُمْ شِيَعًا وَلَوِ اجْتُمِعَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ بَيْنَ أَقْطَارِهَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَهْلِكُ بَعْضًا وَبَعْضُهُمْ يُفْنِي بَعْضًا وَبَعْضُهُمْ يَسْبِي بَعْضًا وَإِنَّهُ سَيَرْجِعُ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي إِلَى التُّرْكِ وَعِبَادَةِ الْأَوْثَانِ وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَخْوَفِ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ وَإِنَّهُمْ إِذَا وُضِعَ السَّيْفُ فِيهِمْ لَمْ يُرْفَعْ عَنْهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَإِنَّهُ سَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي كَذَّابُونَ دَجَّالُونَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ ثَلَاثِينَ وَإِنِّي خَاتَمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي وَلَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ مَنْصُورَةٌ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ بِأَنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يَظْهَرُ مِنْ نَقْضِ عُرَى الْإِسْلَامِ مِنْ جِهَةِ الْأُمَرَاءِ فَسَادُ الْحُكْمِ وَالْحُكَّامِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The bonds of Islam will be broken one after another, and every time a bond is broken, people will cling to the one that follows. The first of these bonds to be broken will be ruling, and the last will be prayer."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَتُنْتَقَضَنَّ عُرَى الْإِسْلَامِ عُرْوَةً عُرْوَةً فَكُلَّمَا انْتُقِضَتْ عُرْوَةٌ تَشَبَّثَ النَّاسُ بِالَّتِي تَلِيهَا فَأَوَّلُهُنَّ نَقْضًا الْحُكْمُ وَآخِرُهُنَّ الصَّلَاةُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ الْأَمَارَةِ الَّتِي إِذَا ظَهَرَتْ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ سُلِّطَ الْبَعْضُ مِنْهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا مَشَتْ أُمَّتِي الْمُطَيْطَاءَ وَخَدَمَتْهُمْ فَارِسُ وَالرُّومُ سُلِّطَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ نَقْصِ الْعِلْمِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ عِنْدَ ظُهُورِ الْفِتَنِ فِي أُمَّتِهِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The time will become short, knowledge will be decreased, civil strife (fitan) will appear, niggardliness will be case into people's heart, and harj will be prevalent. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! what is it: He replied: Slaughter, slaughter. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4255)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَتَقَارَبُ الزَّمَانُ وَيَنْقُصُ الْعِلْمُ وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيٌّ هُوَ؟ قَالَ «الْقَتْلُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ تَقَارُبِ الْأَسْوَاقِ وَظُهُورِ كَثْرَةِ الْكَذِبِ عِنْدَ رَفْعِ الْعِلْمِ الَّذِي وَصَفْنَاهُ قَبْلُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not occur until knowledge is taken away, trials appear, falsehood increases, time narrows, markets come close together, and there is much killing." It was said: What is "al-harj"? He said: "Killing."
عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يُوشِكُ أَنْ لَا تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقْبَضَ الْعِلْمُ وَتَظْهَرَ الْفِتَنُ وَيَكْثُرَ الْكَذِبُ وَيَتَقَارَبَ الزَّمَانُ وَتَتَقَارَبَ الْأَسْوَاقُ وَيَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ» قِيلَ وَمَا الْهَرْجُ؟ قَالَ «الْقَتْلُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «حَتَّى يُقْبَضَ الْعِلْمُ» أَرَادَ بِهِ ذَهَابَ مَنْ يُحْسِنُ عِلْمَهُ ﷺ لَا أَنَّ عِلْمَهُ يُرْفَعُ قَبْلَ قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah will not take away knowledge by removing it from people (from their hearts). Rather He will take away knowledge by taking away the scholars, then when there are no scholars left, the people will take the ignorant as their leaders. They will be asked questions and they will issue verdicts without knowledge, thus they will go astray and lead others astray.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 52)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ انْتِزَاعًا مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنْ يَقْبِضُ الْعُلَمَاءَ بِعِلْمِهِمْ حَتَّى إِذَا لَمْ يَبْقَ عَالِمٌ اتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ رُؤَسَاءَ جُهَّالًا فَسُئِلُوا فَأَفْتَوْا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَضَلُّوا وَأَضَلُّوا»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِوَصْفِ رَفْعِ الْعِلْمِ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ قَبْلُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at the sky one day and said, "This is the time when knowledge is being raised." A man from the Ansar, known as Labid bin Ziyad, said, "O Messenger of Allah, is knowledge being raised even though it has been firmly established and the hearts have embraced it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "If it were not for considering you as one of the most knowledgeable people of Madinah, I would have thought otherwise. Then he mentioned the Jews and the Christians regarding what they have in their hands from the Book of Allah. He said, "So I met Shaddad bin Aws and I told him about the conversation of Awf bin Malik. He said, "Awf spoke the truth. Shall I guide you to the first part of that?" He said, "Humility is raised until you do not see anyone who is humble."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ «هَذَا أَوَانٌ يُرْفَعُ الْعِلْمُ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ لَبِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يُرْفَعُ الْعِلْمُ وَقَدْ أُثْبِتَ وَوَعَتْهُ الْقُلُوبُ؟ فَقَالْ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَحْسَبُكَ مِنْ أَفْقَهِ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى عَلَى مَا فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ شَدَّادَ بْنَ أَوْسٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِحَدِيثِ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ عَوْفٌ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ بِأَوَّلِ ذَلِكَ؟ يُرْفَعُ الْخُشُوعُ حَتَّى لَا تَرَى خَاشِعًا
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ بِأَنَّ الدُّنْيَا يَمْلِكُهَا مَنْ لَا حَظَّ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The world will not come to an end until there is a Luka' bin Luka'."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَنْقَضِي الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ عِنْدَ لُكَعِ بْنِ لُكَعٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ خَوْضِ النَّاسِ فِي الْأُغْلُوطَاتِ مِنَ الْمَسَائِلِ الَّتِي أُغْضِيَ لَهُمْ عَنْهَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They will continue to seek guidance through consultation until one of them will say, 'This Allah created everything, so who created Allah?'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُونَ يُسْتَفْتُونَ حَتَّى يَقُولَ أَحَدُهُمْ هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ؟! »
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا يَظْهَرُ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ مِنَ الْمُنْتَحِلِينَ لِلْعِلْمِ وَالْمُفْتِينَ فِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ عِلْمٍ، وَلَا اسْتِحْقَاقٍ لَهُ نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتَنِهِمْ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah does not snatch away knowledge from the people by snatching it away from them after giving it to them. However, He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars. So when there is no scholar remaining, the people will appoint ignorant leaders whom they will ask for religious verdicts (fatwas) without knowledge, and they will give verdicts without knowledge, thus leading astray themselves and others."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنْزِعُ الْعِلْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ انْتِزَاعًا يَنْتَزِعُهُ مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَعْطَاهُمُوهُ وَلَكِنْ بِقَبْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ فَإِذَا لَمْ يَبْقَ عَالِمٌ اتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ رُؤَسَاءَ جُهَّالًا يَسْتَفْتُونَهُمْ فَيُفْتُونَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَيُضِلُّونَ وَيَضِلُّونَ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ الْأَمَارَةِ الَّتِي إِذَا ظَهَرَتْ فِي الْعُلَمَاءِ زَالَ أَمْرُ النَّاسِ عَنْ سُنَنِهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The matters of this Ummah (nation) will continue to be in a harmonious or approximate state as long as they do not talk about birth and fate."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ مُوَائِمًا أَوْ مُقَارِبًا مَا لَمْ يَتَكَلَّمُوا فِي الْوِلْدَانِ وَالْقَدَرِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا يَظْهَرُ فِي النَّاسِ مِنْ حُسْنِ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ غَيْرِ عَمَلٍ بِهِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day came out to us while we were reciting the Qur’an. He said: Praise be to Allah. The Book of Allah is one, and among you are the red, and among you are the white and among you are the black. Recite it before there appear people who will recite it and straighten it as an arrow is straightened. They will get their reward for it in this world and will not get it in the Hereafter. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 831)
خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نَقْتَرِئُ فَقَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ وَاحِدٌ وَفِيكُمُ الْأَحْمَرُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ وَالْأَسْوَدُ اقْرَؤُوهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْرَأَهُ أَقْوَامٌ يُقَوِّمُونَهُ كَمَا يُقَوَّمُ السَّهْمُ»
ذِكْرُ مَا يَظْهَرُ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ مِنْ قِلَّةِ النَّظَرِ فِي جَمْعِ الْمَالِ مِنْ حَيْثُ كَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will come a time when a person will not care about whether he has acquired wealth through lawful or unlawful means."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيَأْتِيَنَّ زَمَانٌ لَا يُبَالِي الْمَرْءُ بِمَا أَخَذَ الْمَالَ بِحَلَالٍ أَوْ حَرَامٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ مُبَادَرَةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ بِالْيَمِينِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best of people is my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come a people whose testimonies will precede their oaths, and their oaths will precede their testimonies."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ وَشَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا يَظْهَرُ فِي النَّاسِ مِنَ الْمُسَابَقَةِ فِي الشَّهَادَاتِ وَالْأَيْمَانِ الْكَاذِبَةِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood before us as I am standing before you, and said: ʿI urge you to show respect to my Companions, then those who come after them, then those who come after them, then lying will become so widespread that a man will start to give testimony before he is asked to do so.Whoever among you wants to attain a spacious abode in Paradise, let him adhere to the jama'ah (main body of Muslims), for the Shaitan is with the one who is alone, but he is further away from two. And no one of you should be alone with a woman for the Shaitan will be the third one present. The one who is pleased with his good deeds and upset by his bad deeds is a believer.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 114)
قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَقَامِي فِيكُمُ الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ «أَحْسِنُوا إِلَى أَصْحَابِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَفْشُو الْكَذِبُ حَتَّى يَشْهَدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْيَمِينِ لَا يُسْأَلُهَا فَمَنْ أَرَادَ بُحْبُوحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ وَهُوَ مِنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ وَلَا يَخْلُوَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا وَمَنْ سَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ وَسَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ بِظُهُورِ السِّمَنِ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عِنْدَ ظُهُورِ الْكَذِبِ وَعَدَمِ الْوَفَاءِ فِيهِمْ
the best of my people is the generation in which I have been sent, then their immediate followers, then their immediate followers. Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. After them will be people who will give testimony without being asked, who will make vows which they do not fulfill, who will be treacherous and not to be trusted, among whom fatness will appear. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ» ثُمَّ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَذَكَرَ الثَّالِثَ أَمْ لَا «ثُمَّ يَنْشَأُ قَوْمٌ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ وَيَنْذِرُونَ وَلَا يُوفُونَ وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ»
58.11.57 Subsection
٥٨۔١١۔٥٧ ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
The Euphrates is soon to uncover a treasure of gold, but those who are present must not take any of it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4313)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ أَنْ يَحْسُرَ عَنْ كَنْزٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَمَنْ حَضَرَهُ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا»
[Machine] From the Prophet, ﷺ , that he said, "It is as if there is a mountain of gold."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ «يَحْسُرُ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ»
