ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ حَسْرِ الْفُرَاتِ عَنْ كَنْزِ الذَّهَبِ الَّذِي يَقْتَتِلُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A time will come upon you when the Euphrates river will recede and a mountain of gold will appear. People will fight over it, and for every hundred, ninety-nine will be killed." He said, "O my son, if you live to see that, do not be among those who fight for it."

ابن حبّان:٦٦٩١ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَيَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ يَحْسُرُ الْفُرَاتُ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَيَقْتَتِلُ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَيُقْتَلُ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ» قَالَ «يَا بُنَيَّ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِمَّنْ يُقَاتِلُ عَلَيْهِ»

The Last Hour would not come before the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold, for which people would fight. Ninety-nine out of each one hundred would die but every man amongst them would say that perhaps he would be the one who would be saved (and thus possess this gold).
