18. Book of Transactions (1/2)
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain, and between them are matters that are not clear, about which not many people know. Thus he who guards against the unclear matters, he clears himself with regard to his religion and his honor. But he who falls into the unclear matters, he falls into that which is unlawful. Like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Every king has a sanctuary. And beware! Allah’s sanctuary is His prohibitions. Beware! In the body there is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the whole body will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body will be corrupt. It is the heart.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3984)
18.2 [Machine] Leave what unsettles you for what does not unsettle you
[Machine] I asked Al-Hasan ibn Ali, "What do you retain from the Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "A man asked him about a matter that I do not know what it was. So, he said, 'Leave what makes you doubtful for what does not make you doubtful.'"
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said to Wabisah, "Have you come to ask about righteousness and sin?" Wabisah replied, "Yes." The Prophet then clasped his fingers, struck his chest with them, and said, "Consult your heart, consult your soul, O Wabisah. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels tranquil and the heart feels satisfied, and sin is that which causes agitation in the soul and hesitation in the heart, even if people give you a verdict and even if they give you an opinion."
18.3 [Machine] In regards to the usury that was in the pre-Islamic era
[Machine] I was taking hold of the reins of the Messenger of Allah's camel during the middle days of Tashreeq. I was preventing people from approaching him, so he said, "Indeed, all interest gained during the pre-Islamic era is deemed void. Indeed, Allah has decreed that the first interest to be voided is the interest of Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib. Your capital (original amount) remains your own, and you shall neither impose injustice nor suffer injustice."

When they gathered, he said, "Merchants will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment as sinful, except for those who fear Allah, act righteously, and practice sincerity." Abu Muhammad said, "Abu Nuaim used to say that Ubeidullah ibn Rifaa'ah is actually Ismail ibn Ubaid ibn Rifaa'ah."
