[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The period of observation for a slave is three days, and Qatadah explained it as follows: If a fault is found within these three days, the slave can be returned without evidence, but if the fault is discovered after three days, the slave cannot be returned except with evidence."  

الدارمي:٢٥٩٤أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عُهْدَةُ الرَّقِيقِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَفَسَّرَهُ قَتَادَةُ «إِنْ وَجَدَ فِي الثَّلَاثِ عَيْبًا رَدَّهُ بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدَهُ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ لَمْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَّا بِبَيِّنَةٍ»
