The Prophet ﷺ prohibited to offer prayer after the afternoon prayer except at the time when the sun is high up in the sky.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلاَّ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ forbade praying after 'Asr.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ

Abu Huraira is reported to have said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited to observe prayer after the 'Asr prayer till the sun is set, and after the dawn till the sun rises. (Using translation from Muslim 825)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ»

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ forbade praying after 'Asr. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 569)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ»

أَنَّهُ طَافَ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ بِالْكَعْبَةِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى عُمَرُ ؓ طَوَافَهُ نَظَرَ فَلَمْ يَرَ الشَّمْسَ فَرَكِبَ حَتَّى نَاخَ بِذِي طُوًى فَسَبَّحَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ 

9327 وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ يَدْخُلُ حُجْرَتَهُ فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا يَصْنَعُ وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ أَنَّهُ صَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ
