البزّار:٥٩٦١حَدَّثنا ابن مُثَنَّى حَدَّثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيّ عَنْ حُمَيد عَن أَنَسٍ

قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَائِطًا مِنْ حِيطَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتًا مِنْ قَبْرٍ فَقَالَ مَتَى دُفِنَ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَعْجَبَهُ ذَلِكَ وَقال لَوْلَا أَنْ لا تَدَافَنُوا لَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ entered a wall of the city of Bani Najjar and heard a voice from a grave, so he asked when was this person buried? They said, "O Messenger of Allah, he was buried in the time of ignorance (before Islam)." He was amazed by that and said, "If it were not for the fact that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave."

The mule halted and he said, "If you were not to be buried, I would have supplicated to Allah to make you hear the punishment of the grave."
