عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

An Amir or a person pronounced taslim twice. 'Abdullah said: Where did he get this sunnah?

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنَّى عَلِقَهَا

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Safwan b. 'Abdullah b. Safwan with the same chain of transmitters.

وَقَالَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah through another chain of transmitters.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِنَحْوِهِ

"A free man should not be subjected to retaliation in return for a slave."

لاَ يُقَادُ الْحُرُّ بِالْعَبْدِ

(Another chain) with similar meaning.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ نَحْوَهُ

"I heard Ibrahim (narrate) from 'Alqamah and Al-Aswad from 'Abdullah," and he narrated something similar. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 720)

عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

[AI] "From Abdullah Ibn Amr, similar to him..."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو نَحْوَهُ

[AI] From Abdullah ibn Al-Qasim.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ

[AI] Saeed reported on the authority of Abdullah bin Abi Awfa who said to him.

سَعِيدٍعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى مِثْلَهُ

When I came to Madinah, sickness was occurring in the city and they were dying quickly. I sat with 'Umar bin al Khattab ؓ and a funeral passed by, Good things were said about (the deceased) and ‘Umar ؓ said: It is due. Then another (funeral) passed by; good things were said about (the deceased) and he said: It is due. Then a third funeral passed by: bad things were said about the deceased and ‘Umar said: It is due. I said: What is due, O Ameer al Mu'mineen? He said: I said what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿAny Muslim in whose favour four people testify, Allah will admit him to Paradise.ʿ We said: Or three? He said: “Or three.ʿ We said: Or two? He said: ʿOr two.” Then we did not ask him about one, (Using translation from Aḥmad 204)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ

[AI] "From Abdullah ibn Al-Harith."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abdullah ibn Masud used to say, "Wudu is necessary if a man kisses his wife."

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ مِنْ قُبْلَةِ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ الْوُضُوءُ

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abdullah ibn Masud used to move forward while in ruku.

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ يَدِبُّ رَاكِعًا

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

[AI] "About Ibn Mas'ood, may Allah be pleased with him."

عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ

[AI] "O father of Abdullah"

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

[AI] And it is said "Abu Abdullah."

وَيُقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ»

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِمِثْلِهِ

[AI] "I saw Abdullah Ibn Masood throwing stones."

«رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَصَفًا»

[AI] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, "The Qibla (direction of prayer) is determined by physical landmarks and can also be used for performing ablution."

عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ «الْقُبْلَةُ مِنَ اللَّمْسِ وَمِنْهَا الْوُضُوءُ»

[AI] Abdullah ibn Mas'ood used to perform the Fajr prayer.

«كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ» يُسْفِرُ بِصَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ

[AI] Abdullah says, "Be calm and feel at ease in prayer."

عَبْدُ اللهِ «قَارُّوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ» يَقُولُ اسْكُنُوا اطْمَئِنُّوا

[AI] Ibn Mas'ood used to not be diligent in the dawn prayer.

«أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ لَا يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ»

[AI] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud did not regularly observe the Fajr prayer.

«لَمْ يَكُنْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ»

[AI] Abdullah said.

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ

[AI] Yes, among them is Abdullah bin Mas'ood.

نَعَمْ وَمِنْهُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ

[AI] "From Abdullah bin Mas'ood."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ

[AI] Abdullah, meaning the son of Mas'ood, said, "Strip the Hajj pilgrims of their garments."

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ جَرِّدُوا الْحَجَّ

[AI] Abdullah said, "He is the son of Masood, Hajj is a well-known obligation in which Umrah is not included."

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ هُوَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَعْلُومَاتٌ لَيْسَ فِيهَا عُمْرَةٌ

[AI] "From the son of Mas'ood"

عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

[AI] Abdullah said, "They hide and do not inherit."

وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَحْجُبُونَ وَلَا يَرِثُونَ

[AI] Abdullah ibn Masood and Zaid ibn Thabit in contrast to this

عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ بِخِلَافِ هَذَا

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ had a close relationship between Zubair and Abdullah bin Masood.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ آخَى بَيْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

[AI] "From Abdullah bin Al-Fadl, and indeed time has passed."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ وَقَدْ مَضَى

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو مِنْ قَوْلِهِ

[AI] In the Quran there are two healings, the Quran itself is a healing and honey is a healing. The Quran is a healing for what is in the chests and honey is a healing for every disease.

فِي الْقُرْآنِ شِفَاءَانِ الْقُرْآنُ وَالْعَسَلُ الْقُرْآنُ شِفَاءٌ لِمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَالْعَسَلُ شِفَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ

[AI] About Abdullah ibn Masood, and Allah knows best.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

[AI] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: "Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart."

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْغِنَاءُ يُنْبِتُ النِّفَاقَ فِي الْقَلْبِ
