[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prolong the recitation in the two units (rak'ahs) after Maghrib prayer until the people of the mosque would disperse.  

البيهقي:٣٠٤٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَرْجَرَائِيُّ أنبأ طَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُطِيلُ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ  

رَوَاهُ نَصْرٌ الْمُجَدَّرُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ الْقُمِّيِّ وَأَسْنَدَهُ مِثْلَهُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ قَالَا ثنا يَعْقُوبُ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِمَعْنَاهُ مُرْسَلٌ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَكَأَنَّهُ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ هَذَا زَمَانًا وَمَا رَوَى ابْنُ عُمَرَ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيِ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي بَيْتِهِ زَمَانًا وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ
