When the Prophet ﷺ started to pray he would say: "Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed be Your name and exalted be Your majesty, there is none worthy of worship except You.)"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ تَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started to pray, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed be Your name and exalted be Your majesty, there is none worthy of worship except You.)"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began his prayer, he said: "Glory be to Thee, O Allah," and "Praise be to Thee" and "Blessed is Thy name, and Exalted is Thy greatness, sand there is no god but Allah." Abu Dawud said: This tradition is not well known from 'Abd al-Salam b. Harb. No one narrated this except Talq b. Ghannam. A group of narrators reported the description of prayer from (the narrator) Budail; they did not mention therein this supplication.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

"When the Prophet opened the Salat he would say: (Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika wa tabarakasmuka, wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk)" 'Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.'

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to start his prayer by saying: ‘Subhanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas-muka, wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuka (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah, blessed be Your Name and exalted be Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but you).”

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْتَفْتِحُ صَلاَتَهُ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

“Subhanak Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas- muka wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk (Glory and praise is to You, O Allah, blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but You).”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ تَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started to pray, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed be Your name and exalted be Your majesty, there is none worthy of worship except You.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 900)

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started to pray, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed be Your name and exalted be Your majesty, there is none worthy of worship except You.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 900)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ «سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ»

[Machine] "Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. Blessed is Your name, and exalted is Your greatness. There is no god but You." "This hadith (narration) has been attributed to Umar, but it is not considered authentic."

«سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ» «وَقَدْ أُسْنِدَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ عُمَرَ وَلَا يَصِحُّ»

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started to pray, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. Blessed be Your name and exalted be Your majesty, there is none worthy of worship except You.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 900)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to command us when we started by saying, "Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise. Blessed is Your name and exalted is Your Majesty. There is no deity but You."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنَا إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحْنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

“Subhanak Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas- muka wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk (Glory and praise is to You, O Allah, blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but You).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 806)

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ»

[Machine] And on the authority of Ibn Mas'ud, he said that when they would begin, they would say, "Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise. Blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no deity worthy of worship except You, before the reading."

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحُوا قَالُوا «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ»

[Machine] To say in his bowing and prostration, "Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, la ilaha ghairuka."

أَنْ يَقُولَ فِي رُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ»

“Subhanak Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas- muka wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk (Glory and praise is to You, O Allah, blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but You).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 806)

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started to pray, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma, wa bihamdika tabarakasmuka wa ta'ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah. كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ بِاللَّيْلِ قَالَ «سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ تَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ»

"سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلهَ غَيْرُكَ".

"كان النبى ﷺ إِذَا كَبَّرَ لِلصَّلَاةِ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ، فَإِذَا تَعَوَّذَ قَالَ: أَعُوذُ بِالله مِنْ هَمْزَةِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ".

"عَنْ أَبِى وَائِلٍ قَالَ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ يَقُولُ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَباركَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلاَ إِلَىَ غَيْرُكَ، يُسْمِعُنَا ذَلِكَ".

"عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ لِيُسْمِعَنَا فَيَقُولُ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ".

"عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ كَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ يَجْهَرُ بِهِنَّ".

"كَانَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ يَسْتَفْتِحُ الصَّلاةَ، يَقُولُ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلهَ غَيْرُكَ".
