[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to instruct his wife, when she was menstruating, if he wished to have sexual relations with her, to wear an izar (a loose garment worn by women) to cover herself.  

البيهقي:١٤٠٨٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ الدَّقَّاقُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مَاسِي ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُبَاشِرَ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ أَمَرَهَا فَأْتَزَرَتْ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ وَقَدْ ذَكَرْنَا سَائِرَ مَا رُوِيَ فِي كِتَابِ الْحَيْضِ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ فَخَالَفَنَا بَعْضُ النَّاسِ فِي مُبَاشَرَةِ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ وَإِتْيَانِهِ إِيَّاهَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ قَدْ رُوِّينَا خِلَافَ مَا رُوِّيتُمْ فَرُوِّينَا أَنْ يُخَلِّفَ مَوْضِعَ الدَّمِ ثُمَّ يَنَالَ مَا شَاءَ وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا لَا يُثْبِتُهُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ بِالْحَدِيثِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ قَدْ رَوَيْنَا تِلْكَ الْأَحَادِيثَ بِأَسَانِيدِهَا فِي كِتَابِ الْحَيْضِ
