[Machine] "The Sabians pray towards the qiblah and give one-fifth (khums). He (Prophet Muhammad) intended to exempt them from paying jizyah (tax), but later it was revealed that they worship angels."

البيهقي:١٣٩٩٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا عَارِمٌ عَنْ مُعْتَمِرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْحَسَنُ نُبِّئَ زِيَادٌ

أَنَّ الصَّابِئِينَ يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ وَيُعْطُونَ الْخُمُسَ قَالَ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَضَعَ عَنْهُمُ الْجِزْيَةَ قَالَ فَأُخْبِرَ بَعْدُ أَنَّهُمْ يَعْبُدُونَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ
