62. Chapter (2/2)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited inciting animosity between animals."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited to provoke the beasts for fighting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2562)
62.12 [Machine] Dislike of putting a saddle on a horse
[Machine] A horse was gifted to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He rode it and Ali said, "If we load the red camels onto the horses, we would have something similar to this." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Indeed, only those who do not know would do such a thing."
[Machine] It was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a camel that impressed us, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not replace our horses with camels until we acquire ones like this?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, only those who do not know do such a thing, and it is so."
[Machine] When the owner of Ayyilah or Farwah presented his white riding camel to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if we decorate the bedouin horses with red blankets, wouldn't we receive something similar to this?" He replied, "Only those who are ignorant do such things." And it has been narrated in another report from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
A male or female mule was given to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a gift. I said: What is this? He said: ʿA mule.ʿ I said: Where does it come from? He said: ʿFrom mating a male donkey with a mare, and this is what is produced.ʿ I said: Should we mate [a donkey] with [a mare]? He said: ʿNo, this is only done by those who do not know.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 766)
[Machine] Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to perform ablution properly and prohibited us from eating charity or giving it to needy persons who ride on horses or produce derived from horses. This was narrated by Al-Thawri in this chain of narration from Ubaidullah. Similarly, Hammad bin Salamah narrated it from him, as reported by Tayalis. And indeed, he is Abdullah bin Ubaidullah bin Abbas. And likewise.
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a slave (of Allah), who would order as he has ben ordered to. He did not give an order to us instead of the people regarding anything except for three: He ordered us that we make our Wudu' well (Isbagh), that we not eat from charity, and the we not mate a donkey with a horse." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1701)
62.13 [Machine] The Detestability of Animal Castration
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade patience in the face of oppression and castration of animals. Al-Abbas said, "No one has seen it except the slaves of Allah, and it is strange to them." The Sheikh said, "Thus."
[Machine] The sheikh's saying and the castration of animals is extreme patience, similar to what is forbidden from the patience of the soul, and it is from the saying of Al-Zuhri.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about patience of the soul: Al-Zuhri and Al-Ikhsa' mentioned that it is a strong patience. And so it is.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no castration in Islam, nor the building of churches."
[Machine] He hated castrating animals and would say, "Do not cut off the testicles of Allah's creation. This is the correct way, it is proven and narrated as an elevated saying."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ talked about the castration of camels, cows, sheep, and horses, and said that the growth of the testicles is only in the scrotum, and it is the same for them.
[Machine] In His saying, "And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them [sinful] desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle" [An-Nisa 119], He means castration of animals.
[Machine] He said, "I mean the natural instinct towards religion."
[Machine] There is no harm in castrating horses, as leaving stallions together would result in them attacking and harming each other. This is also in line with the statements of Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas, as well as the established Sunnah. With the help of Allah, it is possible to accept this if there is a valid purpose for it, as we have heard from the companions and recorded in the book of Al-Dhahaya the sacrifice of the Prophet ﷺ with two rams, which was done for the pleasantness of the meat.
62.14 [Machine] What is included in the names of animals and creatures?
[Machine] The camel of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was named al-'Adba' and it used to never be overtaken. One day, an Arab man came riding on his horse and overtook the camel. This upset the Muslims greatly, and when the Prophet saw their expressions, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, al-'Adba' has been overtaken!" He replied, "Indeed, it is a right upon Allah that He does not elevate anything of this world except that He lowers it."
[Machine] It is called "al-Luheif" which is a term in Ibrahim's narration, and in the narration of al-Jarmy it is called "al-Lukhaif" with a letter "kh".
[Machine] He had three horses at Saad Abu Sahl for the Prophet ﷺ, and their names were Al-Lizaz, Al-Lahif, and Al-Zharib.
Once the people of Medina were frightened, so the Prophet ﷺ borrowed a horse from Abu Talha called Al-Mandub, and rode it. When he came back he said, "We have not seen anything (to be afraid of), but the horse was very fast (having an energy as inexhaustible as the water of the sea). (Using translation from Bukhārī 2627)
[Machine] I used to ride behind the Prophet ﷺ on a donkey called 'Ufair' and he mentioned the event.
[Machine] The horse of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was called Al-Murtajaz, and his mule was called Duldul. His donkey was called 'Ufair, and his sword was called Dhul-Faqar. His shield was known as Dhat al-Fudul, and his she-camel was called Al-Qaswa.
[Machine] The camel of the Prophet ﷺ was called Al-'Adba'a, and his mule was called Ash-Shahba'a. His donkey was called Ya'fooran, and his mare was called Khadira. It has been mentioned in a narration of 'Amr ibn Al-Harith that he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not leave behind anything except his white mule, his weapon, and land that he made as a charity."
