ahmad:9933ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Shuʿbah And Ḥajjāj > Shuʿbah > ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd > Ḥajjāj from al-Nakhaʿ > Abū Zurʿah > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name yourselves after me, but do not call yourselves by my Kuniya." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3538)  

أحمد:٩٩٣٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ مِنَ النَّخَعِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ الشِّكَالَ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ يَعْنِي إِحْدَىرِجْلَيْهِ سَوَادٌ أَوْ بَيَاضٌ
