[Machine] "It was a custom of Umar, which the Prophet ﷺ forbade him to do, and said that it is a form of polytheism."  

أحمد:٥٢٥٦ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ قَالَ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا فِي حَلْقَةٍ أُخْرَى وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَا وَأَبِي فَرَمَاهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِالْحَصَى فَقَالَ

إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَمِينَ عُمَرَ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْهَا وَقَالَ إِنَّهَا شِرْكٌ

[Machine] And he said, "Indeed, it was a righteous oath of 'Umar, and the Prophet ﷺ prohibited him from it, and he said, 'Indeed, it is polytheism.'"
