The child belongs to the marital bed

[AI] So I brought the two of them before the Commander of the Believers, Uthman ibn Affan, and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled "that the child belongs to the bed," and he mentioned something similar.

أحمد:٤١٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ رَبَاحٍ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ

فَرَفَعْتُهُمَا إِلَى أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى «أَنَّ الْوَلَدَ لِلْفِرَاشِ»، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.
