I was behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day, and he said: “O young man, I will teach you some words: Guard Allah and He will guard you. Guard Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah; and when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that if the people were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with something that Allah has already written for you; and if they were to gather together to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with something that Allah has already written against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”

كُنْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ: «يَا غُلاَمُ، إِنِّي أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ: احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ، احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ۔ وَاعْلَمْ، أَنَّ الأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ: رُفِعَتِ الأَقْلاَمُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ».

"I was behind the Prophet ﷺ one day when he said: 'O boy! I will teach you a statement: Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek Allah's aid. Know that if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you- you would never get any benefit except that Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you. The pens are lifted and the pages are dried.'" أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا غُلامُ إِنِّي مُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ احْفَظِ اللهَيَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فاَسْأَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ لَكَ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ رُفِعَتِ الْأَقْلامُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was gifted a mare by the king of Persia, which he rode using a hair rope. He then put me behind him and rode with me on the back of the mare, traveling slowly. He turned to me and said, "O young boy." I replied, "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Guard Allah, and He will guard you. Guard Allah and you will find Him in front of you. Recognize Allah in times of ease, and He will recognize you in times of difficulty. When you ask, ask Allah. And when you seek help, seek help from Allah. The pens have been lifted and the ink has dried. If the whole world gathered to benefit you with something that Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to do so. And if they gathered to harm you with something that Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to do so. If you are able to be patient in times of distress, then do so. For indeed, with patience there is relief. And know that with difficulty comes ease."

أُهْدِيَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَغْلَةً أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ كِسْرَى فَرَكِبَهَا بِحَبْلٍ مِنْ شَعْرٍ ثُمَّ أَرْدَفَنِي خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ سَارَ بِي مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ فَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى اللَّهِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ قَدْ مَضَى الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ فَلَوْ جَهَدَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِمَا لَمْ يَقْضِهِ اللَّهُ لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ وَلَوْ جَهَدَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِمَا لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَعْمَلَ بِالصَّبِرِ مَعَ الْيَقِينِ فَافْعَلْ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَاصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ فِي الصَّبْرِ عَلَى مَا تَكْرَهُهُ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ النَّصْرَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ الْفَرَجِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ الْيَسَرَ»

[Machine] "To me, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Preserve Allah, He will preserve you. Preserve Allah, you will find Him in front of you. Know Allah in times of ease, He will know you in times of hardship. And know that what has befallen you was not meant to miss you, and what has missed you was not meant to befall you. And know that if all the creatures were to gather to benefit you, they would not be able to benefit you except with what Allah has already decreed for you. And if they were to gather to harm you, they would not be able to harm you except with what Allah has already decreed against you. So when you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that victory comes with patience, relief comes with affliction, and alongside hardship, there is ease. And know that the pen has run its course with that which has already been decreed." Issa bin Mohammed Al-Qurashi is not reliable.

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى اللَّهِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ وَمَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَعْطُوكَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا أَنْ يَصْرِفُوا عَنْكَ شَيْئًا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُصِيبَكَ بِهِ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْقَلَمَ قَدْ جَرَى بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ» عيسى بن محمد القرشي ليس بمعتمد

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ embraced him and said, 'O young boy, shall I not gift you? Shall I not teach you words that Allah will benefit you with? Guard Allah and He will guard you. Guard Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. And when you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that if all the creation were to gather to harm you, they could not harm you except with what Allah has written for you. And know that victory comes with patience, relief comes with affliction, and hardship comes with ease.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَرْدَفَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا فَتَى أَلَا أَهَبُ لَكَ؟ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ يَنْفَعُكَ اللهُ بِهِنَّ؟ احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَسَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنْ قَدْ جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوْ أَرَادُوكَ بِشَىءٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْكَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرَا»

[Machine] "To me, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'O boy, keep Allah in your mind, and He will keep you in His mind. Keep Allah in your mind and you will find Him in front of you. Acknowledge Allah in times of ease and He will acknowledge you in times of hardship. And know that whatever affliction has befallen you could not have missed you, and whatever has missed you could not have afflicted you. And know that if all the creatures were to gather together to benefit you, they could not benefit you unless Allah has willed it for you. And if they were to gather to harm you, they could not harm you unless Allah has willed it for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried. And if you ask, ask from Allah. And if you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that victory comes with patience, relief comes with distress, and ease comes with hardship. And know that with difficulty, there is ease. And know that the pen has dried upon what has already become."

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا غُلَامُ احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ تَعَرَّفْ بِاللهِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ وَمَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يُعْطُوكَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يُرِدِ اللهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ أَوْ يَصْرِفُوا عَنْكَ شَيْئًا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُصِيبَكَ بِهِ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَسَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْقَلَمَ قَدْ جَرَى بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ»

[Machine] "I was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, 'Oh boy, shall I not teach you something that Allah will benefit you with?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Guard Allah, and He will guard you. Guard Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. Know Allah in prosperity, He will know you in adversity. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek assistance, seek it from Allah. Know that if all the people gather to benefit you, they will not be able to benefit you except with what Allah has already written for you. And if they gather to harm you, they will not be able to harm you except with what Allah has already written against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.'"

كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ شَيْئًا يَنْفَعُكَ اللهُ بِهِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ «احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى اللهِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَسَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ فَقَدْ جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَوْ جَهَدَ الْخَلَائِقُ أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ اللهُ لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ جَهَدَ الْخَلَائِقُ أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ»

"عَنْ عنبسةَ بنِ عبد الرَّحَمَنِ، عَنْ عَبدِ الله بنِ الحسنِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ فَاطِمةَ بنتِ الحسنِ، عن أبيها عَنْ جَدِّهَا عَلِىِّ بنِ أَبِى طَالبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ لِعَبد الله بنِ العبَّاسِ: احفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ، تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى الله فِى الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِى الشِّدَّة، وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فاسألِ الله، وِإذا اسَتَعَنْتَ فاستعنْ بالله، جَفَّ القَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كائِنٌ إِلَى يومِ القيامة، فَلَوْ جَهِدَ الخلائقُ أنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَئٍ لمْ يكتُبِ الله لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ، ولَوْ اجتمعُوا أَنْ يَضُرِّوكَ بِشئٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ الله عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا، فَإنِ استطعتَ أَنْ تَعْمَلَ لله بالرضى فِى اليقين فاعملْ، وإن لم تستطعْ فِإنَّ فِى الصبرِ على ما تكرهُ خيرًا كثيرًا، واعلم أنَّ النصرَ مَعَ الصَّبرِ، وأَنَّ الفرجَ مَعَ الكربِ، وأَنَّ مَعَ العسرِ يُسْرًا".

" يَا غُلَامُ: أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ يَنْفَعُكَ الله بِهِنَّ؟ احْفَظْ الله يَحْفَظكَ، احْفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ، تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى الله فِى الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِى الشِّدَّةِ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ، وَأَنَّ ما أخطأك لَمْ يكن لِيصيبَكَ، وَأَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لو اجْتَمَعوا عَلَى أن يُعْطُوكَ شَيئًا لَمْ يردِ الله أَنْ يُعْطِيَكَه لَمْ يَقْدِروا عَلَى ذَلِكَ، أَوْ أَنْ يَصْرفوا عَنْكَ شَيْئًا أَرَادَ الله أَنْ يُعطيَكه لَمْ يقدروا عَلَى ذَلِكَ، وأَنْ قد جَفَّ القَلمُ بِمَا هو كائنٌ إلى يَومِ الْقِيَامةِ، فَإِذا سَأَلت فَسَل الله، وَإذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِن بِالله، وإِذا اعْتَصَمْتَ فاعْتَصِم بالله، واعمَل لله بالشُّكْرِ فِى اليَقِين، واعْلَمْ أَنَّ الصَّبْرَ عَلى مَا تَكْرَه خَيرٌ كَثيرٌ، فَإِنَّ النصرَ مَع الصَّبْرِ، وَإنَّ الفَرجَ مَعَ الكَرْبِ، وِإنَّ مع العسْرِ يُسْرًا".

"يَا فَتَى: أَلَا أَهبُ لَكَ؟ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ يَنْفَعُكَ الله بِهِنَّ؟ احْفَظْ الله يَحْفَظْكَ، احْفَظْ الله تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ، وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلْ الله، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، وَاعْلَمْ أَنْ قَدْ جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوْ أَرَادُوكَ بِشَىْءٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْكَ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ، وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ، وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا".

"يَا غُلاَمُ أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ لَعَلَّ الله - ﷻ - أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ بِهِنَّ: احْفَظِ الله يَحْفَظكَ، احْفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ أمَامَكَ، تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى الله فِى الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِى الشِّدَّةِ، فَإذَا سَألتَ فَاسْأَلِ الله، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، فَقَدْ جَفَّ القَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ، فَلَوِ اجْتَمَعَ الَنَّاسُ عَلَى أنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَىْء لَمْ يَكْتبهُ الله لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ، أوْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَىْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتبهُ الله عَلَيْكَ لَم يَقْدرُوا عَلَيْهِ، فَإِنِ أسْتَطَعَت أنْ تَعْمَلَ لله بالرِّضَى فِى اليَقينِ فَافْعَلْ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَإِنَّ الصَّبْرَ عَلَى مَا تَكْرَهُ خَيْرٌ كَثِيرٌ، وَاعْلَمْ أنّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ، وَأنَّ الفَرَجَ مَعَ الكَرْبِ، وَأَنَّ مَعَ العُسْرِ يُسْرًا ".
