Indeed, Allah is shy that the servant stretches out his hands asking him for good and he leaves him empty-handed.
إِنَّ اللهَ لَيَسْتَحِي أَنْ يَبْسُطَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ يَسْأَلُهُ فِيهِمِا خَيْرًا فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ
Indeed, Allah is shy that the servant stretches out his hands asking him for good and he leaves him empty-handed.
إِنَّ اللهَ لَيَسْتَحِي أَنْ يَبْسُطَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ يَسْأَلُهُ فِيهِمِا خَيْرًا فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ
The Prophet ﷺ said: Your Lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to Him.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ إِذَا رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا
“Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.”
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحِي إِذَا رَفَعَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا خَائِبَتَيْنِ
Prophet (saas) said: "Your Lord is Kind and Most Generous, and is too kind to let His slave, if he raises his hands to Him, bring them back empty," or he said "frustrated."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا أَوْ قَالَ خَائِبَتَيْنِ
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is Ḥayī (shy) and Karīm (generous). He is too shy to let His servant extend his hands in supplication and then return them empty."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَبْسُطَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah is Merciful, Modest, and Generous. He is too modest to let his servant raise his hands to Him and then not put anything good in them."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَحِيمٌ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ لَا يَضَعُ فِيهِمَا خَيْرًا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is too merciful to be ashamed to turn away the hands of His servant empty-handed."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَسْتَحِي مِنَ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ»
Prophet (saas) said: "Your Lord is Kind and Most Generous, and is too kind to let His slave, if he raises his hands to Him, bring them back empty," or he said "frustrated." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3865)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ إِذَا رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah, the Exalted and High, feels shy from the servant to raise his hands to Him and return them empty."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is not shy to return the hands of His servant empty-handed when they are raised towards Him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَيَسْتَحِي مِنَ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your Lord is Modest and Generous. He is too Modest to let His servant raise his hands in supplication and then return them empty. So when one of you raises his hands, let him say, 'O Ever-Living, there is no god but You, O Most Merciful of the merciful,' three times. Then, when he lowers his hands, let him pour out that goodness upon his face."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَرْفَعَ الْعَبْدُ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدُّهُمَا صِفَرًا لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِمَا فَإِذَا رَفَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَدَيْهِ فَلْيَقُلْ يَا حَيُّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ إِذَا رَدَّ يَدَيْهِ فَلْيُفْرِغْ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرَ إِلَى وَجْهِهِ
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : Verily, Allah is bashful and generous. When a man raises his hands to Him, He feels shy to return them empty handed. Jafar ibn Maymun quoted it in this manner, and Sulayman al-Taymi quoted it from Abu Uthman, according to one of the two narrations from him. The hadith in its entirety is about supplication, except that a number of companions raised their hands during the Qunut, as we have heard it from Anas ibn Malik quoting the Prophet ﷺ .
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي إِذَا رَفَعَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا خَائِبَتَيْنِ
"إِنَّ الله ﷻ رَحيمٌ حَيٌّ كرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْى مِنْ عَبْدِهِ أَنْ يَرْفعَ إِليهِ يَدَيهِ؛ ثُمَّ لا يَضعُ فِيهمَا خيرًا".
“Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3556)
"إِنَّ الله ﷻ حييٌّ كرِيمٌ، يَسْتَحِى إِذا رَفعَ الرُّجُلُ إِليه يَدَيهِ أن يَرَدَّهُمَا صفْرًا خائِبَتَينِ".
"إِنَّ الله ﷻ حييٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحِى أَنْ يبْسُطَ عبْدُهُ يَدَيهِ إِلَيهِ، ثُمَّ يَرُدُّهُمَا صفْرَين، لَيسَ فِيهِمَا شَيْءٌ".
"إِنَّ الله ﷻ ليستحى أَن يُعَذِّبَ عبده أَو أَمَتَه إِذا أَسَنَّا في الإسْلَام".
"إِنَّ الله ﷻ لَيَسْتَحْيِى أَن يبسط العبْدُ إِليه يديه يسأَلُهُ فيهما خيرًا فَيَرُدَّهُما خَائبتين".
"يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ: إنَّ رَبَّكُم حَيِىٌّ كَرِيمٌ، يَسْتَحِىَ أَنْ يَمُدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ يَدَهُ إِليْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ".
"إِنَّ ربّكُم حىٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَستحى أَنْ يَبْسُطَ العبدُ يَدَيْهِ إِليه فَيرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا".
"إِنَّ ربَّكم تعالى حَىٌّ كريمٌ يسْتَحْيِى إِذَا رَفَعَ العَبْدُ يَدَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا لا خَيْرَ فِيهِمَا، فَلْيُعْطِ اللَّهَ من نفسِه الْجَهْدَ، وَإِذَا حَزَبه أَمرٌ فَلْيَقُلْ: حسبى اللَّه ونعمَ الوكيلُ".
"إِنَّ ربَّكم حيىٌّ كريمٌ يَسْتَحْيى أَن يرفَعَ العبدُ يَدَيْهِ فيردَّهما صِفْرًا لا خَيْرَ فيهما، فَإِذَا رَفَعَ أَحَدُكم يَدَيْهِ فَلْيَقُلْ: يا حَىُّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ ثلاث مرات، ثُم إِذا رَدَّ يدَيْهِ فَلْيُفْرِغْ ذِلَكَ الخيرَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ".
"إِنَّ ربَّكم حَيَىٌّ كريمٌ يسْتَحْيى إِذَا رَفَعَ الْعَبْدُ يَدَيْهِ أَن يَرُدُّهما صِفْرًا حتَّى يَجْعَلَ فيهما خَيْرًا".
